Y'know gacha games and Hazbin Hotel do both share one thing in common: unnecessarily overdesigned messes for character designs

One time I had a dream where Vivziepop made a Hazbin Hotel gacha game.

It looked a lot like Skullgirls in terms of aesthetics and UI design except with a looooottt more red. The characters were presented in a "cards" form and we're in the same artstyle as the show, I think Sir Pentious was an SSR rarity card. I don't remember what the gameplay looked like but I felt it would've been kinda ass

obviously gacha games are unethical in their very premise and frankly shouldn't exist and should never have existed to begin with but sometimes people have this weird like....idk how to describe it...view on them sort of? like they treat gachas as this sort of comprehensive source of all evil in gaming as a whole. and to be fair gacha is kind of emblematic of how late stage capitalism is ruining the essence of video games. this is mostly about how i saw someone say that even people who play gachas without spending any money on them are still addicted because of how much time they spend grinding & doing other things in the game that it's negatively affecting them

and yeah what they described in that post was very clearly addiction and they were right to call it that but video game addiction is not at all exclusive to gachas and grinding for like 12 hours while neglecting your health and other needs has been a problem within gaming for long since before gachas were ever really a thing

i find it infinitely sad how when the kendrick-drake beef dropped twitter and youtube simply made epic memes and jokes about it meanwhile tumblr spiraled down into massive several post long arguments about the website’s deep-seated anti-blackness and racism
