Writing advice: Describe the surroundings your characters are in as the scene unfolds, you want the picture to dance in your reader’s mind not let it be concrete. Leaving something up to the imagination is always fun too! Background should just be the background. Never forget the background, but remember it is not a building block; it is one of many strokes in your painting.

it really is insane how waking up early will grant you access to some of the most beautiful sights and sensations in the world that will make you want to live forever, but only if you overcome the gauntlet of a thousand razors that is getting out of bed early. truly one of life's little saw traps.

Before I found my light

I was death’s secret admirer.

I found myself writing letters

with love glamorizing every horrific

truth to them. I sang

songs in hopes to swoon

them to my side. I

lived only because they decided

I would. The comfort the

horror gave me is sickening

now. Death is now the

one that got away as

life drags me to another

day.

I felt light and whimsical yesterday, my head was dizzy. I felt as if I was having a spiritual awakening, the beauty of the world free to my grasp. I had a sinus infection.

I felt his hot breath on my neck. “Honey?” I stirred, feeling the sleep heavy through my body. Rose gold lighting poured through the window. We had been together for a few years, but he still clung to me as if we were a new couple. I felt his gentle hands brush through my hair, gently letting his fingers go over my tangles. The morning light and air was beckoning me to make breakfast. “My love~” My voice rang in my ear when I called to him. He stirred in his sleep. I expected him to let me go, but he grabbed me even tighter than before. I felt his nose brush the tip of my ear and the cold sweep of air as he inhaled my scent. A smile crept onto my face. His arms squeezed me tight as we laid there, content. “Am I in heaven?” A giggle betrayed me, my lips spread thin in my smile. His voice was rough as he woke up. I felt my body’s heat rising, my ears felt hot. We laid there in the morning rays spreading across our bedsheets, loosely thrown on our connecting bodies. “I believe I am, and you’re my Angel.”

Enticing, like bait to a beast. A reminder of the light within an abysmal world, the scent of you. Like a rose in a wasteland of thorns, like the voice of an angel. A vibrant feeling in one's heart that spears through the darkness that is a world without you. A beacon in the night, your smell alone reminds me of heaven, for you are my saving grace, my angel.
