This is the situation put together in a few minutes. I guarantee you that every single American and then some get some benefit from the US Government functioning. You may not realize it, but it's a good time to start realizing it now. Because we have to do the best we can to protect it.
Don't forget that it functions because of people like you and me. Normal people make the government work. No rich person would do the job. When the government shuts down, those normal people are out of work for as long as those shut downs take.
That used to mean something when the people on capitol hill didn't come to an agreement. Stop voting for people who don't fight for you. And any rep that pulls out of this agreement because of a tweet should be voted out anyway.

I watched this movie for the first time today. It's been in my queue for a while. I'm glad I watched it this week. I knew nothing of what the story was going to be about. I remember when the tsunami happened in 2011. It was a heartbreaking tragedy. For me, as a New Yorker who lived 9/11, this week is always hard. This world sees no end to these events.
Seeing this movie reminded me of those days when people just helped people after a traumatic event. I wanted to see that coming out of the pandemic, and it just didn't really happen. But I will keep hope. This movie really captured that feeling of being helpful, even in the smallest ways, and I appreciate it so much.
How lovely to learn who this person is that we listen to and warned us to be safe on the subway. Voices that I hope we never let AI generation to replace.

I never saw this before. Albeit saw it happening live from my classroom window. Being a kid living through a tragedy is pretty different than being an adult, and on live tv.
