I watched the Netflix Wednesday show and was a bit disappointed. Spoilers ahead.
The show had potential. Started pretty strong with aesthetic and character variety. By the middle to end, the characters were a bit cheapened. Unfortunately the main character began to suffer the Bella Swan (Twilight) effect. Meaning: Bella could do absolutely whatever and still have friends wanting to still be her friend despite ignoring them completely for her own desires.
Wednesday just kept attracting all these friends that she never seemed to reciprocate. It's not exactly the same because at least a few of her friends actually tell her off for being a dick, but it still falls short. Specifically, for the character that goes to jail wrongfully accused of murder but then completely forgives her and buys her a phone at the end of the series.
If the show runners wanted to depict a flawed Wednesday, then at least follow through on the repercussions of those flaws on the people around her. She never actually apologizes for her actions either and second season or not, they should've backed that up with the secondary characters not always accepting her shit. As an attempt of character growth, it just doesn't happen and she ends up being quite flat.
The more I thought about the actions of the supporting characters in dealing with Wednesday, the more disappointing the story became in retrospective. The problem I see as this show is pretty popular, there are most definitely people out there inspired by this character and tend to mimic traits.
I just want to make sure that being goth does not mean be a dick.

Indila - Dernière Danse (Clip Officiel)
I’m sad I discovered this artist ten years late. But her songs are beautiful <3
2022 all in one A5 almost completely done. My experiment with planner and journal in one book worked really well, but the book was a bit big to travel with. #nanamisevenseas #a5planner #a5notebook #planner #journal https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm2GQOXJx6Y/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Blindside - Pitiful (Official Video)
I found some of my burnt CDs again and I hadn’t listened to this song in ages but I fell in love with it all over again. And I lowkey still love the style on a guy. Also, all these videos need an HD update please.
As I recall with my stomach turning I was hiding away from myself, away from you Like nothing, though something was terribly wrong And I admit that I was only waiting for the right time Night time, the right moment for you to look away Though you never did, I pretended for a while So I could walk where I don't belong And I remember every word you said Come back in time, come back And I remember I would soon be dead Now so pitiful, so pitiful But I know as I hammered those nails into your beautiful hands Your eyes still try to search for mine, but I look away Now your eyes are the only thing that can save me I'm still afraid of them piercing You're breaking into my prison Just pretended for a while My soul is dying I won't look away And I remember every word you said... I'll remember every word you said This time I won't look away
This person's photos are amazing. All different sides of Tokyo. I enjoy favorite some of these as inspiration settings for some of my stories.
Seattle Public Library is doing this awesome program called Books Unbanned that allows teens and young adults (ages 13-26) access to their collection of e-books and e-audiobooks from anywhere in the USA. All you need to do is fill out a simple form and you get their Books Unbanned card. Please share this information far and wide. I know they're not the only ones to have done this, but the more the merrier!
This is one of my favorite trends right now lol
