I've wanted to draw Lyra dancing ever since I saw the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPpgMeeXKa4#t=102 I picked this pose to start, but there's lots more gold to mine out of isaiahdjstuff 's all too short video. I hope he doesn't mind! His expressions for Lyra are priceless! I got the colors from: http://kefkafloyd.deviantart.com/art/Lyra-Heartstrings-Color-Guide-300217549 Thank you, Kefkafloyd! For now, all the drawings I post to this tumblr will be drawn in Artflow on my Note 3 with the stylus. In hindsight, I should have made my canvas bigger, but I was trying to keep the same size as the gif I took the stills from, since I was going to eventually try my hand at animating Lyra's dance a little. After this static drawing, I think I'd better leave that to more capable people, and practice my drawing!

Holy wow, I am so happy with the progress I made while drawing this! Simple backgrounds and highlights and shadows make it look %20 cooler! Although looking at it zoomed out, I notice Spike is all 3D, and the cactus is too flat. Also, I omitted the sweat and drool, since being in the desert with no water means they're dehydrated! It's certainly not because I haven't figured out how to draw water effects yet!
