Chapter 4 summary: Danny is treated in the Medbay of the Watchtower. Batman talks with Superman and Red Hood about the situation. (I suck at summaries)
Teaser: In the Medbay of the Watchtower, things were chaotic. “How am I supposed to tell how the patient is doing if he doesn’t have life signs we can detect?” One of the doctors asked in frustration.
Jazz spoke up from the table she had been sitting on, as another doctor looked her over. “I have all the equipment you need. It’s in one of the boxes Superman helped us bring up here.”
“Why didn’t you say something sooner, Miss?” The man’s tone was tinged with annoyance.
“Because you weren’t listening to me when I tried telling you earlier.” Jazz snapped at the man. She was so done with everything but Danny at that moment.
The Man of Steel had been standing off to the side with Batman, silently watching the physicians work. “Which box do you need?” He gently asked her.
“I need the box marked with the letters “FFRX”, and the cooler box as well.”
He was back with the two boxes before she could even say “thank you”. He sat the boxes near the end of Danny’s treatment table; “Do you know how to work this equipment? I scanned it, and I’m pretty sure no one here is going to be able to use it without your help.”
Jazz shot the alien a grateful smile. “I’ve been using this equipment for years. I can teach the doctors whatever they are willing to learn from me.”~~~~
~~~~“Batman, this is Hood. We have arrived safely in Gotham and are currently holed up in the metro safe-house.”
“How are the teens?”
“Shaken and exhausted, but otherwise physically unharmed. An update on their friend might help soothe their minds, though.”
“Tell them that he has been stabilized and is currently under observation. Ask if they have any more information that might help us in our investigation into the Fentons, the Anti-Ecto Acts, and the GIW.”
“Will do.” Jason paused. “How is Jazz?” He quietly asked after a second.
Batman cocked his head. It was very unusual for Jason to ask about civilians–especially by a nickname and in that tone of voice. He decided to give a straightforward answer. “She will recover. She has some defensive wounds. She has been seen by Medical, and she is resting next to her brother in the Medbay.”
Jason’s literal growl over the com made Bruce question his decision to tell Jason information about Jasmine. Now he knew for sure that the girl was special to his son. If things hadn’t been so dire, he would have almost smiled. But the situation was grim, and he had to be Batman first for the moment, if those kids were to see justice. “Hood. You WILL NOT return to Amity Park. Do you copy? I need you in Gotham. Jasmine, Danny, and their friends will need an advocate to organize things between them and the League. I do not have time to be that person. I want you to do it.”
A tense silence echoed through the communicator. “Me?” Jason finally said. “You want me to advocate with the League??”
“You have a close connection to all the parties involved. You’re also much closer in age. I think that they will talk more openly and candidly with you than with the other members. You won’t be the only one, but you will be their main contact point for the League. That means you have to stay close. Can you do it?”
A longer pause sat between them this time. Batman could almost hear the thoughts churning in his son’s head. If Jason found out the true extent of Danny and Jasmine’s injuries, then he was likely to break the “no killing” rule again. Bruce didn’t want to deal with that. It would only complicate matters….
Doesn’t anybody ever get it right?Doesn’t anybody think that I hear?
Hey, I just posted the first chapter of my latest Bart-centric/Flash family fic :) Link below:
Wes caught it, because of course he did cautious bastard. And yes she realises this now that fighting on the street was not the smartest move but it was a long time since she saw her friends from Amity and they got along fairly well with Weston.
So they had a good time, she managed to nip him on the cheek with her knife (after taking it back) he left her with a new bruise (it will be gone by tomorrow noon) and then they were both taken in by the police...
And now she has to explain why she did what she did to the GCPD and Ancients help probably Batman as soon as she gets back to her apartment. Who could've guessed that having a friendly brawl would be so taboo in Gotham? (who is she kidding of course it's suspicious it looked like they were trying to kill each other to any normal person!)
and she's not sure how much she should say!
What's up gays, new fic time
Summary: When Luke was told about the perfect person to join his after-school jam sessions, he'd thought a lot about who it could be - most of his guesses at least being in the fifth grade. An elementary school kid with anxiety, an attitude problem, and a drum kit? Yeah, he hadn't imagined that.
Once more for those in the back.
I'm just absolutely in love with the fact that Alex is the one who's most aware of when he's being weird and he's always the one who tries to apologise and stay level headed when the guys are overstepping. He's also the one who's most likely to shout at a stranger.
Coz he's literally rude in almost every single first interaction he has in the show. Like after The Screaming, he gets the "why are you in our studio. (said softly)" line to Julie, he would have Absolutely kept shouting at Ray for touching his drums if he'd been able to hear him, he called after Caleb despite Alex being the one who walked into him, and he snapped at Willie when they first met too. The most polite he ever gets during a first meeting is when he meets Flynn
Like yes he's sweet and awkward, yes he'll forget that about himself if a stranger annoys him. He's just so weird (complimentary) and I love him <3
People don't seem to understand how truly terrifying the third Robin was. Sure, the current one runs around with a sword sometimes and has unprecedented levels of anger trapped in a too-small body, but he will never be scarier than his predecessor. The one who managed to keep a grieving Batman in check. The one who can destroy you without ever laying a finger on you. The one with a speedster, the daughter of Zeus, and a Kryptonian on his side. He leads them. He keeps up with them. He outpaces them.
They love him, respect him. They call him for backup. It is rarely the other way around. He can keep up with Impulse, go toe to toe with Wonder Girl, overpower Superboy.
If you ask the Red Hood or Spoiler, the third Robin can outsmart the Batman. If you ask Batgirl, he is the only one she truly views as challenge. If you ask Nightwing, he will tell you the story of the first time the third Robin ever saved his skin. Before he'd even been Batman's partner, when he was just a stubborn kid with a stolen mask.
He flies without wings and scales buildings on human legs. Gothamites will swear up and down that he can bend steel and break concrete. Even Metropolis respects him, cheers him on. No other Bat has that privilege.
And yet he has the gentlest hands. The softest smile. There is nowhere safer than in his shadow. Nowhere better protected than in his care. Nowhere as comforting as under his watchful gaze.
So this is a set of expression practices using expressions from an art meme that kind of took on a life of their own and decided to be a whole AU.
The premise is that the gubbermint, in true reactive fashion, decides that metas/speedsters are too powerful to be allowed to just run around. No pun intended. So through a combination of trickery, betrayal, and just not leaving them any options, the speedsters are all rounded up and held in a facility that contains some pretty heavy duty anti-meta dampening fields, etc. However. They were not reckoning on the speedsters’ well honed ability to take apart just about anything with enough time. The speedsters–good and bad–escape.
Picture ID’s: 1. Avery Ho gives a shaky grin, tears pouring from her eyes and dripping from her face, as she says, “Oh my God–You’re alive!” She is shown from the shoulders up, wearing a form fitting but featureless grey bodysuit that covers her to the neck. Light is falling on her in a way that suggests she is in a dark room facing an open door. The image is greyscale aside from her eyes, which are brown.
2. Bart Allen and Ace West cringe back, lit from behind. Both appear disturbed by what they’re looking at, which is in the direction of the viewer. Bart exclaims “Oh grife–” while Ace declares “That is sick”. The boys are wearing grey bodysuits identical to Avery’s, their hands are visible, raised into the picture, and the suits cover everything but their fingertips.The image is greyscale aside from their eyes. Bart’s eyes are golden and Ace’s eyes are brown.
3. Barry Allen and Eobard Thawne are shown in the same grey uniform the younger speedsters have been shown wearing. Barry is walking a little ahead of Eobard. Both men are slightly bloody, Eobard is bruised as well. Barry’s expression is a nervous, strained smile as he glances over his shoulder at Eobard. Barry suggests, “Maybe we won’t have to kill any of them…?” While Eobard, smiling viciously and staring to the side with a predatory look, counters, “Wouldn’t count on it, Care-Barr.” The image is greyscale aside from their eyes and the blood on them, with Barry’s eyes being a light blue and Eobard’s eyes being bright red.
decided to redraw my first piece of tua art since we now know what the mummies looked like!
