I love kido but I hope others will also have their importance ! I wish there was a little formal romance because at the moment , we only have tracks on the shinxAya (even if it is almost sure) , the HaruxTaka ( Pretty sure too) but the kanoxKido there are only guesses and I will like us to be attached AT LEAST these 3 stories. I look forward to the film and so we see every new designs !!!

Okay so, I have a theory on what the movie’s going to be about. And it’s going to be very Shintaro and Kido focused. They’ve been the main focus of all the advertisements for it, so that would make sense. 

Okay, so looking at the most recent trailer… We have this scene with Shintaro.

It starts with his eyes red, and his power active… And then as they go back to their normal color, he looks so… panicked. Obviously because of his power; he was seeing a past timeline at this point. 

Back to Kido… It would make sense that she would be centric to the film, especially with my theory. She just got a novel, right? Everyone’s fucking hyped about her. 

We learned more about Kido’s power in the novel. How she can use her power to block out memories and shit. 

So, my theory?

The ‘new character’ from a while back is Kuroha. Who will show up in flashbacks to past timelines. 

Kido ends up using her power to help Shintaro with his, so that he can hopefully forget some of those timelines. 

Give me the Kido + Shintaro friendship, plz.

I got a request to do a tutorial on how to create galaxies! Well, here you go!! Painting galaxies is so much fun, and can be really calming. So have fun!!

hope this tutorial helps, anon!! a lot of this is a result of experimentation and seeing what looks best based on your picture. what i’m essentially doing is relying on the overall “mood” bg colour tie everything together cohesively by putting the local colours over it on the “soft light” filter. the other changes i do, such as the blue light on him and the flavour elements are all based around making it more cohesive, e.g. the glow from the pool is all over the background AND the subject, instead of just the pool, pulling them together, if that makes sense! 

of course this also relies on having some sense of what a realistic version of your scene would look like - for this comic i looked up “pool scenes night” on google to gather references i could take the colours from, and looked up lighting references for the way light would hit a face if coming from the bottom, stuff like that.

the other example is from a commission i did: 

in this case, the lighting situation has a lot more light, and isn’t as atypical as pool-at-night lighting. so it was easier to rely on my usual method of colour layering, i.e.

local colour on multiply (as opposed to soft light) 

monochrome shading on normal

again, experiment experiment experiment! hope this helps!

Hi, thank you so much!!! To learn how to draw hand flapping, I recommend studying animation smears.

Rise uses this technique a lot, pause just about any fast-paced sequence and you’re sure to find smear references!

That being said, I drew this little tutorial up real quick to show how I do it:

Valentine’s Day Part Four

Part Three

Nico could safely say that Valentine’s day was going horribly and it was probably almost entirely his fault. How he’d ever thought hiring Connor and the rest of the Hermes lot to help him would be a good idea he didn’t know, but now he was facing disaster. Will, who had been so understanding for so long, was mad, Kayla upset, and Cecil looked like he was ready to stab the next person who came up to him and then Nico and then himself in that order.

At least Connor was happy enough. His chores were covered for a month and he got to reign mischief. It was probably his perfect Valentine’s.

Nico should probably have realised Connor would be a little too good at his job. He wasn’t sure how Connor had gotten Lou Ellen involved, but the cookie monster was a unique distraction technique.

Will stood by his side, arms tightly folded and his expression scarily blank. He’d been really understanding all day, but when Nico had inadvertently made Kayla cry, Will had apparently blamed him. That had apparently been his limit and now he was so closed off he was like a different person. Nico hated seeing the stony expression on his face, the rigidness of his posture. He felt close to tears himself.

It had all been going so well too. After Nico’s slight meltdown in his cabin, Will seemed to take proving to the rest of the camp that Nico was a good boyfriend thank you very much as a personal challenge. Nico had felt a little better at Will’s sheer indignation that anyone would think Nico was anything less than perfect. So he’d gone to lunch feeling a little bit better, like he might actually be able to pull this Valentine’s day off and find Will the perfect present that would make everyone at camp realise he wasn’t a failure and he did belong with Will.

Feeling more positive was his fatal mistake.

Actually, his fatal mistake may have been not calling Connor off while he still had the chance.  

He was just all round a walking disaster.
