Papercastl - Love At First Gunshot

I loved that one scene where Karen is patching up Matt in the foreground, but it's Castle in the background the camera is focused on. Because he's eavesdropping. He's been wondering the same thing--why did Karen call him? And then he decides to act macho, chewing pain killers and making out like getting shot doesn't hurt because he's damned if he'll look weaker than Murdock in front of her.

And of course Karen sees through it with a single look, leaving him stumbling over his words. There's too many that need to be said, a crushing wave that dams up at the back of his throat. Maybe over a cup of coffee he could let the words seep out. They could start with a cup, then another. Maybe dinner after that. Make up for lost time...

the crazy thing about kastle is that they’ve set up a narrative in which karen represents to frank the idea of moving on from his overwhelming grief and giving up the constant self destructive fighting and choosing to actually live and try to heal. she’s literally THE pathway to a happy ending for him. and in order to keep him in the narrative and keep him fighting they CANNOT be in a room for longer than ten minutes bc he would cave and the plot would be over. honestly sickening.

cuz if Matt and Karen become endgame, I will turn into a villain. Matt already had his chance with her, and he's gone and dated a whole bunch of other women. Karen deserves someone who wants her as desperately as Frank does!!

i was ready for a single 5 second shot of awkward eye contact and we got: kastle canon kept in touch and make phone calls, frank shaving, getting hair cut, and wearing aftershave because he knew he was going to see karen, karen making the man grovel as frank tries to make amends through caffeine, “i don’t believe you don’t care” “you asked me for a favour, i did it” “yes you did”, and THEIR HEARTBEATS????
