things adam parrish receives in the mail during his first semester at college:
six books from gansey about mythology, ley lines, and glendower, all sticky-noted with things gansey has noticed in his studies. most of these sticky notes have questions for adam on them. some of them have doodles of fast cars and girls with spiky hair. some of them have beatles lyrics. adam keeps all of them, replacing gansey’s sticky notes with his own before sending them back.
thirty-two letters from blue, all of which he has responded to and kept. they both have pay-by-the-minute phones now–a necessity, given the distance in the group–but blue sent adam a two-page letter during his first week at the dorms, and it made adam feel so much less alone that he just never stopped. they talk about a lot of things–what’s happening at fox way (told to blue, away at her own school, over the phone by orla and calla and her mother), how ronan and gansey are doing, whether or not adam’s checked in with the student disability center about accommodations for his hearing, whether or not blue and checked in about her dyslexia, how big and wide and vast the world outside of Henrietta is for two people who have never really left its boundaries.
three mixtapes from ronan, along with various knickknacks and dream things that make adam’s heart squeeze in his chest and laughter bubble from his lips. a pair of headphones specifically for someone with single-sided deafness, a tin-can that works as a walkie talkie (one of a five-piece set), a bag of candy from that local place that adam likes. letters, but not long, like blue’s–short things, like tracklists or scraps of paper with “i fucking miss you” or “your roommate sounds like a dick” or “2 weeks” written on them in a messy hand
little notes from noah, stuck in with ronan’s mail–things that say “ronan wouldn’t let me put blink182 on your mixtape :(” or “ronan went red for like two days when those flowers showed up” or "we maybe kind of adopted your old dog and she’s the best??”
a small package from fox way that comes once a month–like the one blue gets–full of slightly burned cookies and magical advice and, on a few occasions, notes that calla or maura have found while going through persephone’s things that mention him. calla writes him, sometimes, and adam is getting better at knowing that it’s not just because he meant something to persephone.
when Charles Bukowski said "and when nobody wakes you up in the morning, and when nobody waits for you at night, and when you can do whatever you want. what do you call it, freedom or loneliness?"
Paris is always showing its teeth. When it is not snarling, it is laughing.

i can’t get adam parrish: spontaneous sleeper off my mind like…..
adam routinely falling asleep on gansey’s shoulder whenever he sits shotgun in the pig
ronan being put on ‘crash watch’ during latin because everone knows that adam hates sleeping in class but sometimes it just happens
(crash watch includes taking adam’s notes, waking him up ~gently~, and being a good boyf)
adam and persephone having naps in cabeswater after he finishes his training for the day
sometimes blue encourages adam to sleep when they hang out. usually he ends up sprawled over her lap and snoring loudly as she watches sitcoms, and usually orla or persephone document it in the form of like 60 pictures
blue had one printed and taped to her wall
noah and adam staying up late and talking and talking until they end up cuddled on adam’s bed (adam is lil’ spoon ofc)
adam sleeping in the hondayota during his breaks
ronan and adam staying up studying for finals and adam eventually slumping over and crashing on ronan’s lap (ronan’s face is so red google earth can see him through the roof of st. agnes)
They do bad things because they’re scared.
They’re gullible or misinformed. Example: somebody who has been told the heroes are out to hurt them.
They are desperate for interaction, validation, kindness, or attention, and the dark side gives them those things.
They want to change their allegiance, but are pressured by people close to them to stay evil.
They have an otherwise noble goal that they will do literally anything to achieve. Example: somebody who wants to protect their child, even if it means throwing other children into danger.
hi imagine adam and ronan getting into a fight where adam storms out of monmouth and gansey calls him hours later like “can you please come do something with your boyfriend?” and in the background he can hear the clutter of noah and ronan making a makeshift band out of crap around monmouth and playing blink 182′s I Miss You
look this is really dumb but noah and ronan totally do that thing where they point to random stuff that they think abstractly reminds them of their friends and inform them “that’s you”
like gansey knocks a bowl of cereal onto the floor and ronan points at it and turns to adam “that’s you” or noah sees two squirrels fighting and points like “that’s you guys” to blue and ronan
gansey tries to fit in with the cool kids but he doesn’t get the point so he just points to really pretty flowers in cabeswater like “adam that’s you” and adam’s blushing just “gansey pls you’re embarrassing me in front of our friends” or he uses it to awkwardly flirt with blue like gansey: *pointing to the sun* blue that’s you bc you’re bright and painful to look at
