In light of recent events, I made my first political cartoon. I hope it upsets the right people if I say so myself.
Seeing how @powerpuff-man9895 did a post on the first PPG short turning 30, I’ll do the same for the first Dexters Laboratory short, Changes, which premiered a week later and is the second What A Cartoon short to premiere! It was also the first in a series of pilots for Dexter’s Laboratory.
One of the things this short does so well is how it’s just a sibling quarrel taken to 11. Whereas the show had episodes just involving Dexter’s inventions and experiments gone awry, the best part of the show for me was how it juxtaposed mundane suburban life with science antics.
Hot take: jarring as it is, I really wished they added Dee Dee’s bit black bushy eyebrows in the show. It made her way more goofier expression wise!
And of course, my favorite scene from the short:
I swear, I wish I was THAT clever with my work when it came to zany jokes like that.
I’m working on some stuff at the moment, so I wanted to make a little silly post in the meantime.
Being way too much into comics and Cartoon Network, I have this British CN comics annual that’s not easy to come by these days (I got it off eBay for 8 bucks from some dude in Florida).
On the surface it’s just a mere compliation of DC’s Cartoon Network comics from around that time…but this book is (gasp) - vandalized!
Okay, it’s not that bad, most of the vandalization is just some petty kid scribbling stuff in. It’s not annoying, but it is a little bit funny. What isn’t funny is that there’s no Courage the Cowardly Dog comic despite him being on that pretty sweet crossover cover.
The vandalization follows a pattern depending on the comic but I saved the most egregious for down below (did the Powerpuff Girls really need noses?)

Hey everyone, hope yall are doing well.
Seeing how some of the people I’m following are going on hiatuses, I’d figure I’d do the same. I need to step away from my socials for a bit, get my ducks in a row. It’s nothing bad, I just need to set limits and focus on my life, hobbies and what I like drawing. I also want to devote time to drawing more personal stuff and start working on my first graphic novel (oooh!).
I am working on something really cool as well, and I’m psyched. I can’t wait to share it along with a bunch of new stuff when I come back sometime in May. See you soon!
