YALL HELPED ME FIND IT. đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ˜đŸ„ș❀❀

Voice [Katsuki Bakugo x Fem!Reader]

Warning for super angst! This wasn’t requested, but I was in another mood and there needed to be some more angst on here. (adding this in late, but warning for blood)

(I guess I only write for Bakugo now *shrugs* (OoOoOpppppss)) Sorry, I’m latterly and utterly in love with him.

As always, I hope you enjoy the content, and please do send in requests! I’m making my way through them and doing my best to fulfill them all! I love you all.

Side note, I cried writing this.

“Good morning, Bakugo!” you cheerfully greeted. You waved to the boy as he grumbled something under his breath. He walked past you without a care, not even sparing you a glance. But you didn’t care. You bounced after him and fell into step with him, clapping your hands together and never losing your smile. You gazed up at him with practical hearts in your eyes. You couldn’t help it, you had the biggest crush on the biggest jerk in the school. Everyone knew it, even 2nd and 3rd year students. It didn’t bother you, there was no one else to show him any affection. Not at school at least. He had friends, sure, but none of them liked him how you did.

Your heart swelled whenever you saw him in the hallways and you always greeted him, every morning! Your eyes were practically glued on him all day, small sighs of longing leaving your lips. You always attempted small talk with him. He never had much to say, not that he ever gave you responses or answers you were looking for. He usually told you to fuck off or to leave him alone, which you would. You believed in personal space and if he wanted it from you, then who were you to deny him that? Sometimes you brought him and his friends gifts. The most famous one his friends liked to receive were cookies and other baked goods. Though you never spied him taking a bite of any of your homemade snacks, you always showed up with some.

“Did you get the answer to number seven on the homework last night? I didn’t understand it all that well, but I know that you more than likely did. You’re so smart,” you complimented him. You could ramble on forever about how perfect her was. From his intelligence to his defined muscles. You could compliment him on anything he did.

“Would you shut up?” he grunted, seeming to slouch more at your presence. You didn’t seem to let him forget that you were there. He hated how you came around to bug him every morning. He had to hear your voice everyday, talking about something stupid that he didn’t care for. He had tried to ward you off so many times, but you were a persistent leech. He was only happy that you were physically touching him, then he’d really lose it. Kirishima and Kaminari told him that it was just a little crush, nothing to make a fuss about, that it would pass. He was ready to blast their heads off because obviously they had been wrong. Mina had said that you had to be “hard core in love with him” and that was why you were so persistante. Well he wanted nothing to do with it!

You shut up immediately, nodding your head. You followed him all the way to class, making your way happily to your seat. You were stopped when you heard your name though and turned, smiling to the group of friends seats in the middle of the room. “Good morning, Kaminari!”

He smiled at you, but not in that flirty way he had. He was so nice to you, you assumed that it was mostly because of those cupcakes you made. He was by far the biggest fan of your baking skills and he always wanted more. “Got any treats for us today?”

“Afraid not, but I can bring some in tomorrow if you really want some,” you beamed, clapping your hands together. His smile widened and if he could hug you, he probably would. The only thing stopping him was a row of desks. He sent you a thumbs up with a shining smile. “That’d be great!”

You felt yourself get all bubbly inside. You did a little dance before continuing to your seat and unpacking your supplies. Once situated, you opened your sketchbook and started on a new drawing. You always drew in class, it was a lot more productive to you. You could listen to the lesson and keep your hands occupied. It made perfect sense to you, though you were sure Aizawa sensei wouldn’t agree. It was part of the reason why you hid your work from him and from everyone else, and made it look like you were taking notes. The other reason you hid your artwork from everyone was because the entire sketchbook, save for one or two pages, was all full of Bakugo. You couldn’t help yourself, he was just so gorgeous and handsome. He was a work of art himself, and you wanted to capture that. You did, everyday. You worked so hard on every sketch, pouring your heart into every line and shade spot. It was now to the point you didn’t have to look at him for reference, you knew every detail of his face from memory. You swore to yourself it wasn’t weird, really. You just had such a huge, mega crush on him.

Class went by as usual. Aizawa taught some stuff and slept, your classmates worked, and you drew Bakugo. There were no interruptions throughout the entire day. Lunch went pretty smoothly. Your friends started the same spiel about liking such a hot head, “especially one that doesn’t like you” they’d say, and how you needed to get over him. This was because they swore that he would either never acknowledge your huge crush on him and act on it or he would find someone he does like and leave you in the dust. Either way, they were afraid you were going to be crushed. Their pleads fell upon your deaf ears, though, as you were always dead set on Bakugo and no one seemed to be able to change your mind.

When the end of the day finally rolled around, you were at your locker making an exchange. There were a few supplies you needed to restock on and a few books you could return to the library. Both needed to be done as soon as possible, and you were planning on getting it all bought up and returned before you went home that evening. The halls were clearing fast, as no one wanted to be at school when they could be playing video games or listening to music or doing anything else. You closed your locker and spotted the ash blonde making his way to the exit. You felt your smile widen.

“Oi! Bakugo! Wait up!” You called after him. He didn’t, but you caught up to him anyway. You slowed your pace once coming to his side and giggled. “Didn’t you hear me? I want to walk with you!”

Oh, he heard you! He always heard you! Your voice always made alarms go off in his head, telling him that he needed to be ready for whatever word vomit you were about to throw at him. He always found it easier to ignore you than to start yelling at you, (1) because you weren’t worth the sore, scratchy throat, and (2) because you weren’t leaving him alone. He was endlessly annoyed by your voice, which sucked because he couldn’t help but growl every time he heard it. You could be 20 feet across the room, laughing with your friends, and he would get this cloud of annoyance laid over him like a blanket. He hated it, and he was pretty sure he hated you.

You were holding your sketchbook to your chest, your backpack too full of everything else to hold it. You didn’t mind, though, as you loved carrying it close to your heart. Your art was like a piece of you, and it always made you smile. Even if you were having a bad day, going through your work was always uplifting. Or just doodling made you the happiest girl in the word.

“So, are you planning on doing anything fun?” you giggled.

“I’m going home, and if you follow me there, I won’t hesitate to blow your ass up,” he muttered coldly.

You laughed, not exactly finding his threats or insults funny, but rather cute. He glared at you for laughing at him, looking away sharply. He stuffed his hands into his pants pockets with a huff, actively ignoring you more - if that were even possible. He knew he shouldn’t have said anything to you, but he wanted to make it clear that he did not want you knowing where he lived.

Your burst of laughter stopped when you tripped on a rock in the middle of the sidewalk. You hit the ground rather hard, scraping up your knees and hands. Your sketchbook feel from your grasp as you went to catch yourself, and it fell open on the concrete. And Bakugo couldn’t help but to look at it, and he stopped dead in his tracks. He felt as though he blood was running cold and boiling at the same time, because staring back up at him was a drawing of himself. He was horrified, realizing that this was what you did all day rather than play an active role in classes. He picked up the book with lightning fast speed and flipped through it. One after another was a drawing of him. His face, his eyes, his hair, all of it was drawn with such precision and accuracy. He fucking hated it.

“It’s worse than I thought,” he grumbled, looking at you with full rage in his eyes. “You’re a stupid stalker bitch!”

You looked at him, down on your knees and feeling the seething pain of blood soaking into the sidewalk from your skin. You shook your head, waving your hands around viciously. “I’m not! I swear!”

“Then what the fuck is this!?” He couldn’t stop yelling. He felt violated almost, his opinion of you drastically changing from annoying kid with a school girl crush to crazy stalker who wouldn’t leave him alone.

“I just couldn’t help it,” you told him, standing to your feet. The blood started running down your legs, but you didn’t care. You reached for the sketchbook, but he held it over your head where you couldn’t reach it. “Please, give it back!”

“Like hell I would!” he shouted in your face. He stepped away from you, taking the book in both his hands. He suddenly set off tiny explosions, burning the surface and everything within the pages. It felt like something inside of you died the moment he did that. He threw it at your feet as tears started pooling in your eyes. “You need to leave me the fuck alone! I don’t like you, not even a little bit! If I could have it my way, you wouldn’t even be here, you hear me?! So just fuck off and stay out of my life, ‘cause I don’t need stalker extras like you dragging me down! And if I find out you draw me one more time, I’ll make sure you won’t be able to draw anything ever again!”

You picked up your sketchbook, that now looked like it had gone to Hell and come back to your. Your blood seeped into the cover and a few pages. You could only stare at it as you let silent tears fall. You gripped it tightly, your knuckles turning white. Bakugo was already walking away from you, but you couldn’t stop your voice before you could think.

“You really think you’re gonna become a hero acting like such a jerk!? You’re a monster! A horrible one! I promise you, I won’t draw you again! I never want to see you again!” You turned and ran away from him, tearing blurring your vision. He had destroyed something so close to your heart, something that defined you. It wasn’t him, it was your drawings. Everything else, you weren’t so good at, but drawing and baking was all you had. Everything else amounted to nothing, and he had just plummeted your dreams of love.

Bakugo had stopped when he heard the first thing you said. It didn’t hit him as hard as being called a monster, though. It shook him, but he didn’t let it show. He turned, half expecting to see you running to him even though he had heard you run away. But all he saw was your blood sprinkled on the ground where you had fallen. Nothing else of you remained and he felt a weird panging in his chest, like he had just stabbed himself in the heart.

The following morning, he didn’t hear your voice at all. You weren’t in the hall to greet him nor in the classroom. He didn’t see your smiling face anywhere and your friends were huddled in a corner talking to themselves. He didn’t think twice about it, as he were sure you had told them everything that had happened. How he burnt your book and about how much of a monster he was. He had stayed up all night thinking only one thing.

“How can I become a hero if I’m a monster?”

He sat down in class without a word. Even when his friends spoke to him, he didn’t even look at them. He didn’t say anything to them. He didn’t even really pay attention to the lesson. All he had running through his head was the look of pure pain on your face and the words you screamed at him. He was slowly realized that he hated your voice when you said those words, because they had been filled with hurt and hatred. It wasn’t like the loving and sweet voice you used when greeting him and telling him about your passions. He missed that voice. So. Damn. Much.

When lunch break came, he marched up to Kaminari and demanded his phone. “Dude, you have your own!”

“JUST GIVE IT TO ME, DAMMIT!”

Kaminari didn’t object again. He nearly slapped the device into Bakugo’s open hand and watched him with curiosity as he scrolled through the contacts list.

When Bakugo found your name, it had a cute flower emoji beside it. His heart filled with despair as he hit the call button beside it and held the phone to his ear. Each ring made his stomach clench, but it was the cut off that made it drop. You had sent him (Kaminari) to voicemail, where your bubbly voice filled his eyes.

“I missed you, but I promise to call you back later! If it’s important, leave a voicemail!” There was the beep, signalling the beginning of the message recording. He felt himself inhale sharply, and he held it for a few seconds. Those seconds suddenly felt like minutes as he realized he only had a short amount of time to say what he wanted to say.

“(name),” he paused for a moment, bowing his head shamefully as he felt his throat become sore and scratchy, “I’m sorry.”

Different

Izuku Midoriya x Reader

Summary: You thought he'd be different than the rest, but he proved you wrong.

Warning: Cheating, angst, hurtful words, cussing,

Different

You've known for a while now that you were no longer your boyfriends main priority. For about seven months out of your two year relationship you've known.

It started with the late meetings, the coming home after midnight, hiding his phone, getting random rescue and office calls during your days together.

Soon came him not even trying to hide it. Rumpled clothes, cheap perfume that wasn't yours. Markings on his neck and back that you didn't make, how could you when you haven't been intimate in over three months now.

You thought he'd be different from the past. He promised to be. So why are you crying alone on a Thursday night at 1 o'clock in the morning? You've should've known better? Prepared yourself better? Confront him? Ignore it?

Your heart and chest ached so badly as your thoughts raced. It was almost difficult to breathe.

Hearing the door open and shut you whiped your eyes and took a deep, shaky breath to even your breathing out.

Turning to the man you called your lover, you could only stare at his face as his eyes tried to look elsewhere but you. You could tell he was annoyed. At you? The situation? Why can't he break it off if he's not happy? Why torture you?

"What are you doing awake? You should've been asleep," Izuku grumbled out, hands leaving his pockets to start to undue his tie and button down shirt.

"I missed you, couldn't sleep without you, wanted to make sure you were okay from your meeting,"

He simply nodded, disregarded his clothing and you caught a wiff of that same damn perfume as it hit the ground. Your eyes began to tear up as you could only think of what you had done wrong.

Did you not satisfy him enough? Not cook and clean good? Pretty enough? Sexy enough?

"Look I've had a long day, I'm going to bed. Goodnight,"

He got into his side of the king sized bed, far away from you with his back turned. A lone tear ran down your cheek as you nodded, not that he could see. Not that he even cared at this point.

You laid down too, staring at his back and it seemed he went right to sleep without a care in the world. You slowly reached a hand out to him, your fingertips just close enough to brush him if you wanted too. But you retracted at the last second, not wanting to annoy him more.

You've lost track now on how many nights has been like this. Him so close but so far away. No way of reaching him. Not that you even wanted to anymore. After all, where excitement and love once was, was now sadness and emptiness.

~.~

"Izuku, I know about her,"

This didn't seem the right time, but you were done.

A newspaper article had come out with Izuku and Uraraka at a fancy restaurant together, hands locked together in a lovers gaze. The headline simple, "Does Your Girlfriend Know Deku?"

You had been to many a Gala in your first few months together, Izuku showing you to the press as his girlfriend. His one and only.

"Look I don't want to talk about this right now, I'm late for a conference with Bakugou, Shoto and-" "And her. Right?"

He sighed, turning his head to where you sat at the kitchen table. A mug of tea clasped in your hand as you stared back. (E/C) eyes that now seemed lifeless and dull. The once beautiful shine and glow of life, now gone.

"I've know about her for months now, you didn't exactly try to hide it," you mumbled out, a small sip helping your nerves as you tried to prepare yourself for the end.

"If you've known then why are you still here? Get out then! No one is making you stay,"

His green eyes tried to cut through you, but now you simply blinked back. "I made myself stay because you promised,"

That made him flinch as his eyebrows furrowed together, "You promised to be different. That you'd never hurt me like I was hurt in the past. I guess we're just all bastards who lie then huh?"

You stood up and placed your mug in the sink, Izuku trying to find some logical reasoning,"Well what do you expect!? You never do anything, I do everything! The bill paying, the bread winner, thats all me! Sorry if for once I'm seen as someone who isn't just that,"

You walked closer to him, causing him to shuffle back a little. "I've never once asked you for anything but your heart. I guess I was a dumb idiot for that, maybe I should've used you for gain like she did to rise in the charts,"

You reached for the bag you had packed, sitting next to the hallway closet.

"I thought it would be alright if I ignored it. You promised me love, a friend, a lover. Someone I could confide in and be able to return it on the rough days. I guess I was wrong then,"

You turned sharply to Izuku who flinched back. Your eyes met his as you uttered one final sentence to him before you walked out forever.

"The sad thing is. I actually thought you were different,"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ooof, it's been a rough one you guys. I've lost someone dear to me and it's impacted my wanting to write a little bit. This isn't my best but I'm trying to get back in the game. I hope you like it đŸ€
OMG YOUR "Hear Me" STORY IS SO GOOD. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE NETE BEING SO INLOVE BUT SO SAD THAT YOULL NEVER HEAR WHAT HE SOUNDS LIKE and then jake notices how sad his son is about his loved being deaf so he calls up norm and sees if he can make hearing aids for reader and then jake tells nete to give them to the reader for her birthday or some special occasion (with ronal and tonowaris permission of course) and they actually work and the reader gets to hear everything and everyone for the first time ever and then nete and readers siblings and all the other kids in the clan join together to teach her english and the native na'vi but the reader is so nervous about her voice and pronunciation that she only practices alone until one day her and nete are walking on the beach while nete is rambling and she said "i see you." and nete completely malfunctions. hearing his lover say her first words to him and them being so special that he cried tears of joy while embracing her in a tight hug!! if you choose to write this you can of course make it your own and add or take anything out! i absolutely love your writing!!! đŸ«¶đŸŸđŸ«¶đŸŸ keep it up!!!!
👀👀 stop putting ideas in my head, gonna make me sin 😂 this could definitely be a part 2 đŸ˜¶ hmm.
I'm so glad you liked it though! ❀❀❀ It was running ragged on my head like, 'OKAY BUT LIKE, THEY USE SIGN, WHAT IF ONE WAS DEAF!? YES THAT'S IT'
The darkest spot of the bar counter offered its lonely spot for you and your thoughts which lingered somewhere in the depths of your weary mind.
With a straw between your slender fingers, you swirled your drink in a slow manner, the clattering sound of ice cubes mixing in with the beautiful melody of a saxophone playing in the background.
Rather than loud and crowded, the dim light of the pub and the relaxing music was exactly what you deserved after a long mission as a double agent in the most dangerous and violent villain gang Japan had ever faced.
Your duty ended last night as you excused yourself from the group, claiming you had things to take care of, when in reality the pro-heroes were about to execute their attack.
Float Like Clouds
Neteyam x F!Reader
Part 2 of: Soft as Clouds
Soft as Clouds
Tumblr
Neteyam x F!Reader Summary: You weren't well known in the clan, and when you become friends with Tuk, no one believes her. Warning: Straig
Summary: Neteyam becomes a clumsy fool around you, and the clan has started to notice you more
Warning: Neteyam being clumsy asf, Reader being over-stimulated, was not proof read 😂
Note: BTW all my characters and the love interest from the movie/show are always aged up to 18+
Float Like Clouds
Neteyam groaned into his hand, his body flush with humiliation. Ever since you started coming around more after that day when you brought Tuk back and he'd gotten to know you, he now thought you were the most precious thing in the world. The way you seemed to float by, an aura of peace and patience enveloping your whole essence.
Unfortunately that meant he embarrassed the shit out of himself every chance he got. Just moments ago he had tried to approach you to say hello but he tripped and while flailing his arms like an idiot to not fall, he grabbed the nearest thing which happened to have been a rope connected to a crate, pulling it ontop of himself and bashing his head.
Nearby girls and men his age had laughed under their breath, enjoying the sight of the future Olo'eyktan making himself look like a fool in front of the clans beauty, you holding that title now that attention has been shifted to you.
You however were worried and ran over, carefully brushing his braids back to examine his head and sighing in relief that Neteyam was alright. He ignored the others around and focused only on you, his palms becoming clammy and his nerves were on edge, but once you told him he was alright he found himself running off so he didn't have to look you in the eyes anymore.
The gatherers talked about how you were the perfect gatherer, always knowing what to do with fruits and herbs. Hunters boasted about how the food you harvested went beautifully with their hunts of the days. Healers reveled in the fact your herbs were perfectly collected, divided up and placed neatly. Men his age whispered about how graceful and patient you were, a prize for any man. Women gossiped about how you were so perfect, but they reeked of jealousy.
If only he could talk to you without making a joke of himself, but it seemed Eywa had other plans for him.
From outside the tent where he had hidden himself, he heard the clans people going about their day. Neteyam could barely make out his own families voices, Tuks being the loudest as she talked to who he could only imagine was you.
"Come on! We gotta get to the clearing before the flowers bloom! You said it would be amazing!" Tuks voice was full of excitement, almost a demanding tone. Neteyam could see a vision of her trying to pull and push you, your face probably just a smile as you had a soft spot for the youngest Sully sibling. "Actually we need (Y/n) for something," came a unrecognizable voice, more soon followed.
"We need her to help us gather more food!" "Well we need her to help us decide which size basket to weave,"
Many clans people had started to argue, Neteyam deciding enough was enough. He stepped outside of the tent and saw many people surrounding you, Tuk had been pushed off to the side and was trying to get back through the crowd.
You on the other hand, were down right overwhelmed. Everyday someone had tried to have you do something, go somewhere or talk to somebody. You wanted things to go back to the way they were before. You missed laying on the grass or tree branches without a care in the world.
Your breath had started to get heavy, your chest feeling like it couldn't expand. Clutching your hands to your chest to make yourself feel smaller, your eyes darted everywhere, trying to find some type of escape. The feeling of being closed in almost brought tears to your eyes.
"Enough!"
Neteyams voice cut through the crowd, their voices going silence at once. He stalked through the crowd, shoving people out of the way,"you all are ridiculous! You've been perfectly capable before (Y/n) graced you with her presence, now go away and leave her and Tuk alone!"
There was a bit of a growl with his voice that made your tail twitch, but his arm around your shoulder helped ground you as he brought you out of the crowd and towards Tuk.
"Breathe (Y/n), it's okay, they won't bother you again," Neteyam whispered into your ear, Tuk grabbing your hand to help you relax. "I hate when they do that, (Y/n) gets so upset," Tuk told him softly, they both lead you away to the forest, the place they knew you loved more than anything.
Coming to a small clearing, you felt your breath stabilize and you gave Tuk a smile, a hand caressing her face,"I'm sorry you had to see me like that Tuk," this made her confused. You didn't ask for the village people to go crazy, and they had caused to you have some weird attack, so why were you apologizing? Neteyam himself thought you were a blessing, even though you were so overwhelmed you only focused on Tuk and how she felt.
"Tuk, why don't you go ahead to those flowers you mentioned and we'll be right along?" Tuk threw a questioning gaze at Neteyam, but smirked when a thought crossed her mind, "Oh okay, don't take too long!" She giggled, running off through the bushes.
He helped you sit on a fallen tree,"Are you alright?" Neteyam turned his attention towards you completely, finding you smiling at him a little uneasy. "Yes, thank you Neteyam," the way you said his name made him buzz with energy, but he coughed, his own smile gracing his lips to help you feel better, "They shouldn't have acted like that, I know you don't like the hustle and bustle of village life, though that must be hard now that your friendship with Tuk is public,"
You nodded with a small shrug of your shoulders," Yes I suppose it is, but Tuk makes it worth while," you sighed fondly, Neteyam chuckling, "I do miss being able to sneak around the people without being stopped every few seconds, but it's not all bad when I get to spend time with you guys,"
Neteyam felt his tail begin to slightly move and twitch, "with just Tuk or?" He left the sentence open, wanting you to finish it as he scooched in closer, his body and face all giddy.
"Well, Tuk will always come first," you nudged his arm with yours, but when you turned your eyes to look at him, a sort of smirk on your lips as you stared into his eyes,"but I find it quite funny to watch you,"
Neteyam groaned in his throat, leaning his head back,"Please don't remind me, I always make a fool out of myself when I try to talk to you," you smiled, placing a hand on his knee, "I think it's cute,"
Neteyam thought your hands were so soft and gentle, but if your hand stayed any longer he'd probably end up doing something crazy. "Should we go join Tuk?" He stood up, reaching a hand out to help you up. You nodded, hand in his as you stood up, both beginning to walk in the direction that Tuk had disappeared too.
~.~
"There you are!" Tuk laughed, running up to you and pulling you away from her brother who frowned, noticing your hand had slipped out of his. "Look, they're about to bloom!"
In the vast meadow you three stood in, different colored flower bulbs that had a glow were slowly starting to open, Eclipse casting a shadow as night began.
"What is so important about these flowers?" Neteyam wondered, but you looked to him with that soft smile, so gentle and he felt himself swoon, "watch,"
As the bulbs opened, small, light like creatures began to emerge. Different colors of yellow, gold, white, even a few blue started to float upwards towards the sky, the wind softly blowing them to and from.
"These light bugs only come once a year, they're better to spot at night," you informed, a laugh escaping when Tuk began to run through them.
Neteyam crept up beside you, "Beautiful," he mumbled, but he was trained on your face in the glowing of the lights. Your own white freckles on your face decorated your cheeks and nose, your green eyes seeming to glow, now with the reflection of these light bugs, it seemed you held a thousand stars in your eyes.
"Yes, almost takes my breath away," You whispered, glancing at him to find him staring at you already. You felt your cheeks warm under his gaze, starting to turn away when you felt him tenderly grab your hand into his, bringing it to his chest where his heart sat.
You gasped, your body turning flush into his as he held your hand to his heart, his other hand brushing your cheek.
You both could only stand there, eyes gazing into each other. So confused, yet certain this felt right, the two of you having only known each other personally for a short time but still feeling a pull towards one another.
"(Y/N)" Neteyam whispered, "I want you to know, um," he stumbled over his words, trying to find the right thing to say. "Neteyam," you whispered back, your faces seeming to get closer.
"(Y/n)!" Tuk yelled, your face instantly turning toward her and you watched as she laughed and ran through the light bugs, her hands beckoning for you to join her.
You gazed back at Neteyam who's eyes were shut, his head falling back as he let out a big breath exasperated, his own sister had stopped him in his moment of courage,"Don't look so sad," you giggled, "we can always continue this later,"
Neteyams eyes shot open at that, his face in shock as you skipped off to join Tuk in the tall grass, the light bugs making you look even more enchanting, his eyes trailing over your body.
'I am in way over my head,' he thought, but chuckled and ran to join two of his favorite girls.
~.~
When Tuk had began to tire out, Neteyam carried her as the two of you started the walk back to the village. Her soft snores made you smile, eyes looking over her tired form that was drapped on Neteyams back.
"So, maybe we should do this again," Neteyam started, eyes trying to focus on the ground but he would glance up quickly to see your face. To his relief, you were bashfully looking at him too.
"All three of us or?" Your phrasing reminded him of earlier and he laughed, "Maybe just the two of us, Tuk wouldn't mind if I stole you every once and a while right?" He knew Tuk definitely would, but if she knew he was trying to make (Y/n) her sister officially, it might change her mind.
"I don't see why not, maybe you could take me flying?" Your soft voice and slight pep to your step had him grinning from ear to ear. "Really!? I mean," he cleared his throat, trying to deepen it, "I mean, sure yeah," he shrugged, your laugh making him feel like he was walking on air.
Coming to his families tent, you lightly traced your fingers up Tuks back, whispering goodnight as she sleepily 'hmmed', Neytiri appearing to take her from her oldest so that you and her son could have a moment to say goodnight.
You acknowledged their mother, "Hello, Neytiri," Neytiri smiled at you, nodding her head as she slipped back into the tent.
"So, I'll see you later?" Neteyam asked, his yellow eyes were holding your green ones hostage. Your lips pursed, eyes looking off to the side like you were thinking.
"How about one hour? Take me on a night time ride?" He felt his stomach get tingly, not able to make a noise as he nodded rather fast pace. You left him speechless by your next move.
You grabbed his necklace and pulled him down to your height, your lips laying on his own for a moment and then you were gone with a wink over your shoulder.
Neteyam felt frozen, still as a statue where you'd left him with a longing sense for you to stay, but excitement for the next hour to hurry up. Heartbeat racing, he found some function back and touched his fingers to his lips.
"Oh yeah," he grinned, "Soft as clouds,"
Uh-oh! I Think You're Holding The Heart Of Mine!
Uh-oh! I think you're holding the heart of mine!
Synopsis ! You should have known better than to love someone so cruel.
Content and warning: Ao'nung x Reader! Ao'nung is a mean IDIOT, his friends too. BULLIES >:[ he comes around tho (2.6k words of angst to comfort hahah)
Uh-oh! I Think You're Holding The Heart Of Mine!
You’ve been in love with Ao’nung since you were little kids, always trailing behind like a second shadow and mimicking even the smallest gestures. To you, he was the sun; so bright and achingly alluring, but like the sun, he was cruel— oh so cruel. He’d burn you every chance he gets and you’d take it willingly, grateful for even the slightest touch of warmth.
You never took it to heart. Never. This was a challenge that you’ve accepted with great pride thinking that you could crack his mean demeanor; you were convinced that the reason he had this seemingly tough exterior was because he was future clan leader— of course he needed to be strong. It would be bad for his image to falter, let alone to a girl who held no title whatsoever. You were nobody.
Tsireya would say otherwise. though. She was your number one supporter; always urging you to do better and to continue with your cute antics towards his brother. She knows you’d be great for him— heck, you were the only one she deemed suitable for Ao’nung. How could she not think so? You were a great hunter, always quick on your feet and vigilant. On top of that, you were resilient. You never knew when to give up.
You were believed to have been loved, regardless of his very actions. You remember crying to Tsireya one afternoon, showing her the graze on your forearm. The sight of it alarmed her— anything bloodied, even in the smallest of form would worry any kid so she rushed you to her mother.
Ronal cooed while she tended to your wound and you unconsciously poured your heart out about how Ao’nung had pushed you harshly down the sand, scraping your skin on scattered rocks in the process. His friends had laughed at you, pointing their fingers to your fragile form, cowering.
“Maybe he’s being aggressive because he likes you back!” Tsireya reasons, oblivious to what really was the case— but you were only kids, rough housing and games like these were normal so you didn’t know any better either. You wiped your runny nose and took a deep breath.
“You really think so?” and still you were hopeful.
Tsireya nodded enthusiastically, taking your hands near her chest. Ronal softly smiled, rubbing your back in soothing circles. “I’m sorry about Ao’nung, ma __. I’ll be sure to give him a good scolding later when he gets home.”
“And who knows, maybe he does like you. Boys just don’t like to talk about their feelings.” What Ronal said only burned your hopes higher— encouraging your heart to push for a longer run.
Uh-oh! I Think You're Holding The Heart Of Mine!
It wasn’t always like this. You and him were best of friends, inseparable and kind. You were a trio along with Tsireya and you absolutely loved spending time with them; swimming, exploring the ocean– being kids. Ever since, you knew he was the one, almost like it was the great mother’s own will. The feelings blossomed every spent time with him and you cherished it wholeheartedly.
“You should eat plenty so that you grow up to be strong, Ao’nung!” You’d force bits of fish near his lips, urging him to open up. He was throwing a tantrum after being scolded by Ronal, arms tightly crossed and refusing to eat anything. “I don’t want a lanky mate!”
And of course it had been a joke. You’d love him regardless of what he looked like and you knew it, but it was so forward of you and it would always catch him off guard. His cheeks would burn bright red and he’d turn into a stuttering mess.
“Mate?” He asked incredulously which you returned with an eager nod. ”That’s grown up talk! Don’t say things like that until we’re older.”
“You’re gonna have so many pretty children!” Tsireya would comment and you both would squeal, oblivious to the frantic young boy.
After he had started to train, Ao’nung was naturally introduced to other warriors. He fit in perfectly. As much as you were happy for him, that was also when things took a turn and before you know it, it was only you and Tsireya left.
Ao’nung thought that what you had for him would be harmless– a silly crush your young heart couldn’t comprehend yet, but you had now grown into a fine woman and the said love had developed just as much. The people weren’t blind to see how you’ve matured so beautifully– but the men your age knew better than to even try to talk to you. Everyone knew you had eyes for Ao’nung and him only, and the way he grew himself had women dote for him.
It drove him crazy; the sly comments, the lingering touch, the gifts– your very presence. He didn’t know how to handle it, so when his heart beat turned frantic everytime, he’d call it frustration. How his face would burn, how his chest would tighten. Ao’nung was conflicted and his mother was right– boys don’t like to talk about their feelings and he never will.
He’d push you away harshly. Snapping the countless bracelets you’ve carefully crafted for him, embarrassing you regardless of eyes watching, and belittled you any chance he gets. Every woman would cry there and then, immediately running off in embarrassment– but you stayed everytime and it infuriated him. Ao’nung couldn’t shake you off, even if you weren’t around. You were everywhere he went, even in dreams.
You sat with him as he sharpened his fishing spear, not even sparing a glance at your presence. “Oel ngati kameie, Ao’nung.”
The silence didn’t falter you. In fact, it was inviting you to continue. You were surprised he hadn’t even got up to leave so you gratefully took the opportunity and handed him a present wrapped in leaves. He dropped his weapon and begrudgingly took it, opening it in one go.
It was a pretty tie with various beads along the strings. His hair was sometimes unruly and he disliked braiding it, so you figured you’d make him something to wear. For a minute, he stared, admiring it– but the way your smile grew every second had embarrassed him. Ao’nung snickered, throwing it carelessly on the ground and you immediately scrambled to look for it.
“I’m not interested.” He emphasized every word as if he tried to make you understand, harshly kicking the sand towards your kneeling body. Ao’nung left and you could only stare with a sigh.
So maybe this time, you were to blame. After all the years he’d push you away, embarrass you in front of his friends, you were still the same stupid shell of a girl who thought he had finally changed– he had finally cracked and you were confident. It was afternoon when they approached you, asking for your presence while they hunted further the reefs. Ao’nung had asked you– Ao’nung.
Nothing else mattered, not even the obvious snickers from the background. You nodded enthusiastically, tripping on your heels as you hurriedly ran back home to get ready. They had already mounted their Ilu when you returned and without a word, you followed them.
So maybe this time, you were to blame. You should’ve known better than to be so trusting– so gullible and naive. Night was approaching quickly and Ao’nung or any of his friends were nowhere to be seen. The thrashing waves would unmercifully shove your small body on the very rock that helped you keep afloat, its harsh and sharp edges scratching your skin. The ocean was reprimanding you, you’ve concluded after trying to hold on for hours– the blame was yours and yours only. Stupid, stupid girl.
They had left you and this time, you knew well enough it had been their intention.
They were laughing back at shore, applauding themselves for a successful prank. You were to return later all disheartened and the sight would be the cherry on top, but Ao’nung grew restless every minute. This was wrong and he knew that well.
His friends had already bid their goodbyes but he stood there, waiting. He started to walk in circles while fidgeting his fingers– something was wrong. Perhaps it was a sibling thing for Tsireya to start feeling uneasy as well, so she excused herself from her mother and seeked for his brother. It wasn’t hard to find him and when she did, her panic only worsened as she approached him.
“What’s wrong, brother?” Tsireya asked, eyebrows knitted together.
“__” He immediately answered, “__ is outside the reef.”
Tonowari and a few warriors immediately ventured out to search for you. Tsireya couldn't even be enraged at his brother as she was busy worrying herself– but Ronal was a different case. She had been biting his ear off the very moment he told her what happened but Ao’nung easily tuned her out, only hearing his rapid heartbeat.
It felt like forever, but the moment his father had returned, he ran towards him straight away. There you were, a warrior propping you up gently as you limped. You were bloodied and out of breath– he winced at the cuts coating your skin. Before he could even approach you, you had flinched.
The look you gave him made him shudder. It was so unlike you to look at him differently, so empty and void of any admiration. Suddenly, his throat was awfully parched and he was entirely unmoving– all the apologies that were begging to be spat out from the tip of his tongue, gone. You stood there, staring with your teary doe eyes.
His presence made you nauseous and you would’ve cowered in instinct, if not for the warrior’s hold on your shoulders. You could’ve died– you almost did; you were already slipping and numb.
Your parents had immediately ran to you, crying as they held you near. They rushed your weary body to Ronal in a heartbeat. The clan spoke in whispers as Tonowari dispersed the growing crowd.
Ao’nung could only watch at your retreating figure. He visibly gulped. This was it, he thought, this was what he wished for.
And it had only hurt him terribly.
Uh-oh! I Think You're Holding The Heart Of Mine!
He stayed near the hut regardless and heard how you whimpered– how you’d sniffle and cry. The paste burned against your skin and you couldn’t help but squirm. You felt so ugly, so humiliated and little.
Ronal finally walks out, the sound of the flap waking Ao’nung’s drowsy state. “Mother, how is she?” He receives only a scornful glare as she walks past him.
“Mother, please.”
“I am deeply disappointed in you, Ao’nung” She said, clearly holding back. The tsahik sighed, “but for her sake, I will save you from any more scolding. It is what she asks for.”
And it was so like you to think of him before yourself. It applied more pressure on his already beaten heart and he could only drop his head in shame. This was his fault and he had to face the consequences he so begged for all these years– so where did this sickening desire to hold you close come from? It was bittersweet on his tongue and no water could get rid of the taste.
Uh-oh! I Think You're Holding The Heart Of Mine!
“I know that look, brother.” Tsireya didn’t have to glance to see his troubled state. It’s been days– no, weeks. He couldn’t get to you; skilfully blending in with your surroundings and out his sight, scurrying quickly towards another direction– it was clear you wanted nothing to do with him.
It pained him– absolutely shattered him to pieces.
“I can’t reach her, Tsireya.” His frown deepens as he frustratingly tugged on his hair.
“And you will never again!” Ao’nung flinched. As much as Tsireya enjoyed the torment of his brother, she still rooted for the both of you– still standing firm with the fact that you’d do good for him, but she thought of you and knew you also deserved better. With a dejected sigh, she whispers,  “If.. you don’t hurry.”
“Her hideout. Now. Go make things right.” Tsireya hoped she was doing the right thing.
Ao’nung darted in a heartbeat– disrupting the busy clan and accidentally bumping into them. He couldn’t waste any time anymore, he had to get to you or else he’d forever hold his peace. Every step he took was an image of you with someone else; someone else willing to make you happy, someone else to be your mate.
And he hated that. It only fueled him to go faster, eventually reaching a pond surrounded by trees. The place was hidden and only the three of you knew where it was located– it was your safe place.
There you were, relaxed and unknowing. It was cruel like this; for Eywa to strikingly illustrate you in a different light– in a different point of view, or perhaps it had never changed and he just chose to never look at you the way he’s staring now. You were absolutely beautiful, basking in the glow of the dusk. The water swayed you gently and the calm on your face was inviting.
This was his only chance.
Ao’nung approached you, allowing the water to swallow him near you. He called out your name in a whisper and you immediately turned to him in surprise. Before he could even get another word out, you tried to hoist yourself up to escape, but he was quick to grab your wrist.
You hissed in return, his touch burning the healing cuts on your skin. “You don’t get to be sorry.”
You had turned your back on him and only then did he see the same tie that you tried to give him around your hair. It was gut-wrenching– the taste of his own medicine.
“I knew you wanted me off your skin, but I didn’t realize you wanted me gone.” And he knew what you meant, immediately wincing at the thought.
“I’m sorry, __” The apology came out almost in a desperate manner. Ao’nung was aching to touch you– to hug you close. He was willing to apologize forever, if it meant that you’d finally turn around and look at him, but when you did, his body went rigid and he wanted to swallow his words. “Fuck, I’m so sorry.”
You were crying and you looked everywhere but him. He took a step forward and when you didn’t retreat, he took the chance to hold your cheek, caressing it with his thumb. You absolutely hated it– hated him. Even after everything, he was warm. “You don’t get to be sorry.”
“How could you be so,” You hit his chest harshly, the water splashing along your movements, “How could you be so mean?”
“I am young, __” Ao’nung softly said, his eyes on you unmoving. “Young and absolutely stupid.”
“Damn right you are.”
He let out a breathy chuckle. “I never had anyone love me the way you do. Anyone who paid me any mind wanted me for my status– they only wanted the olo'eyktan’s son.”
You turned your head with a click of a tongue, only for him to grab your chin to look at him again. Of course you never wanted him because of his or his parent’s title– you loved him genuinely and he was a coward to not see that. His expression was nothing but sincere and you hated it.
“I am young and stupid, __, so please.” He takes another step forward and you were sure the small gap between your bodies had cut your inability to breathe. The water had gone cold and you couldn’t move. You stayed there, looking up at him. “Let me grow old with you and I promise to be wiser.”
“I see you, __.”
