does anyone have the clip of glenn saying “it’s funnier if they don’t” in reference to mac and dennis bc I am always thinking about it and can never find it </3 I am begging btw
shoutout to sunny and arrested development for realizing the comedic potential in a pair of jean shorts
happy macdennis rpg day to all who celebrate
i am so obsessed with the interiority of sunny characters in a way that the creators definitely did not intend
thoughts on whether mac and dennis can ever admit their feelings for each other? mac is pretty clear about what he wants with dennis post his coming out but would dennis ever be able to do it at that point in his life?
i don't think in any timeline they will ever 'admit their feelings' for each other they are incapable of such things. best case scenario they snap one day and lunge for each other's throats and in the process of mutual murder they end up frotting or something
it is so sickening to think about mac's desperation to be loved and how the neediness that radiates from him is ultimately what inhibits him from forming healthy relationships.. the gang is so tired of him constantly questioning his self-worth ("you guys like me, right?") that they've given up on giving him any attention whatsoever ("it's really a cry for [...] attention, [...] ignore those" / "treat it like a baby / "we don't like you either way"). he needs validation but seeks it in a manner that is so off-putting that nobody wants him around. he writers letters to chase utley. he visits his mom and dad, even though they never want to see him. he threatens suicide as a cry for help and is encouraged to follow through. self-worth is in the body, so why doesn't anyone care that he's been working out? he smothers his dog with affection but can't even get it to stay.
i love lesbian fujoshis dude. i don’t care about men at all UNLESS☝️ they’re getting freakyyy
whatever you do don't think about how the one real relationship dennis ever had devolved into him prostituting himself for a reduction in his alimony payments. because he didn't get a prenup. because he trusted her. because maureen ponderosa was his girlfriend in tenth grade and they were so in love. don't think about how when mandy came to visit, dennis' sole concern was her going after his assets, and when it became clear that she really did not want his money, dennis sat and thought about it, and realized that he wanted to be there for his son. don't think about how often dennis has offered himself up in exchange for something, as if his body is nothing more than an additional asset that can be loaned out. don't think about how dennis avoided being home with maureen on their wedding night. don't think about how his fantasy is to fall in love with a woman who knows he can't have sex with her. don't think about how dennis hates technology for impeding his ability to connect with other people around him. don't think about how deep down, all dennis wants is to care for people and feel cared for, but his naiveté is so consistently responsible for him being used that he shuts himself off from others and Separates entirely. don't think about how frank was nothing more than his money to barbara. don't think about how her love for dennis was entirely dependent on the superficial. the fleeting. the replaceable.
