Turning off her phone, Jimin sighed in defeat. She knows everyone’s not avoiding her on purpose, but it kind of felt that way. She wasn’t going to have a nice dinner outside, but she didn’t want to lock herself inside on a nice Wednesday night. So she decided on the next best thing.
Let’s trespass on school grounds after hours.
Normal people wouldn’t think to do this, but Jimin was different. She wanted to do nothing more than rebel against her goodie-two-shoes image, so she committed crimes on the low. Not actual illegal ones, just minor crimes like ‘trespassing’ at a school she pays to live in.
Let’s see where to break into first! I could walk into the chemistry lab and mix all of the labels. Yeah, that’s evil enough; let’s do it.
Like I said, they weren’t illegal crimes. Just inconveniences that Jimin thought were ‘evil.’ She didn’t have much experience being a bad kid, so this is as good as she’s going to get.
Before Jimin could step foot into the lab, the sound of crying could be heard in the science department bathrooms. Who could be here at this hour? She knocked softly so as not to startle the clearly distressed individual.
“Get the fuck away; can’t you see it’s occupied?" That voice was distinct. There was none like it. Ningning was in the bathroom, and she was crying?
“….Ning? It’s Jimin, are you okay?”
“I said get AWAY.” Jimin didn’t flinch; she was used to this. She went to high school with Ning, so she wasn’t afraid of her. At the moment, she was just concerned as to why someone as tough as Ningning could be crying alone in a bathroom. Jimin sat down outside the bathroom, back against the metal steel door.
“Hey, If you want to talk, we can. I know you probably don’t want to tell a random stranger about your issues; that’s fine with me. But you know I’m good with a secret. You can talk to me.”
Jimin felt her back slightly fall as the door creaked open.
“I’m not telling you because we’re friends, but I am telling you because I have no one else I can trust.” Ningning’s words sounded rude as usual, but her sorrowful tone from crying was heard. It made Jimin’s heart ping; no one deserved to feel how Ningning felt at this moment.
“The stupid gossip site posted. Your little friend and my ex-bitch are besties now. What the fuck, man. What did I do to deserve this? I’m the one who got cheated on. So why does everyone feel bad for Giselle?” She began tearing up even more. Jimin had been bewildered by the fact that Y/N was hanging out with Giselle. Why had she lied to her? They had mentioned it was a friend Jimin didn’t know, but that clearly wasn’t the case. Nonetheless, she’d focus on that later. All Jimin’s attention is on Ningning now.
“No way is Ning Yi Zhuo letting two freaks get the better of her.”
Sorry Y/n.
“The same Ning Yi Zhuo who got our finals canceled by rigging the lottery so that our principal won? The same Ningning who passes every school year with a 4.0 GPA yet doesn’t show up to any class? There's no way you’re going to let two people hurt you like this. That stupid school blog stinks anyway; they don’t even get the full story of things! I’m sure Y/N meant no harm in what she did. Trust me, I know her. She’d never hurt you on purpose.”
The room was silent, all that could be heard were the crickets, and the cool wind breeze. Jimin meant every word. She trusted Y/n. Sure she lied about who she was meeting up with, but it was surely for a good reason. That's something you're certain of. Ningning looked away as if she were deep in thought. She quickly dried away her tears and stood up.
“Whatever, I can do way better than those two freaks. I can literally buy their houses and still have money left over to splurge. Later loser.” There she was, ‘Rich Bitch’ Ningning. Before she fully stepped foot out the door, she turned back.
“Thanks, Jimin.” Then she walked away.
And so there goes Jimin’s Wednesday night. Maybe she’ll continue her ‘evil’ activities another day. For now, she’ll get some food and head home. Still, she can’t shake the feeling that the conversation will be important later. She’d probably never cross paths with Ningning again, so why does she feel like this?

Before you even get to open the door, it shoots open, and you’re greeted by the empress herself.
“Hey girly! How’s it hanging?” She spoke so casually to you, almost as if you had been friends for years. With all the rumors circulating about Giselle, you expected a cold aura to surround her, but she seemed pretty warm and happy. Still, you had to keep your guard up; she does have a backstabbing reputation.
“Hi.”
“You don’t sound too happy to see me?”
“Oh, no, I’ve just had a long day. Sorry.” Thinking back on all the harsh texts you woke up to made your head ache, or maybe you’re still hung over. The thought of having to sit and talk with Karina was enough to make you want to vomit, so you intended to stretch this meeting out for as long as you could.
“I could only imagine. Well, then let's get straight to business! You and I have something in common.
“So you mentioned before... but I don’t understand.”
Oh, silly, don’t you see? We’re both Ning’s public enemy number 1 at the moment!” How could she say that so enthusiastically? I guess she’s been fighting this battle for 4 years, but still, how is there any positive to this?
“You mean the school’s gossip site? Yeah, I didn’t do anything, though! I swear!”
“That’s what we all say. Let me guess, Ning shut you down and threatened you.”
“How’d you know?”
“I have experience in the ways of Ning Yi Zhuo. Don’t worry, I won’t let her hurt you. We just have to work together, okay?”
“But why do you want to help me? I mean, we’ve never spoken.”
“I don’t want to see another hot girl get hurt; that seriously burns!” You didn’t understand her metaphors, but you appreciated them. The real decision is: Should you trust her? After everything you’ve heard about her?
"Look, Y/N, I get it. You have no reason to trust me. But you do know Ningning; if you’re going up against her, you’ll need backup.” She’s right; there’s no way you could face off with Ningning alone. You definitely didn’t want to get your friends involved, so this is the best way.

Three Years Prior, Spring Hill High School
“Jimin, come sit here! Right here! Hey! Over here! J.I.M.I.N Y.O.O”
Normally, having someone scream out your full government name would be concerning, but not for you since it was a daily occurrence. It was none other than your loud, eccentric friend, Ah Yujin.
“Shut up! Everyone’s staring at you, dumbass.” And there goes your equally loud friend, Y/n L/n.
Everyone was staring at your friends, but that never bothered you; you were used to it. You did, however, dislike the comments that came with it.
“How could someone like her be friends with them?”
“Doesn’t she have the highest GPA of our senior class? And isn’t Yujin failing every course, including study hall?”
“She’s so pretty; she’d be even prettier if she lost that rat pack of hers.”
You couldn’t seem to understand why their opinions mattered. Why couldn’t you be friends with people you like? Why is it such an inconvenience to everyone else? They didn’t know your idiot friends like you did, so how could they have such awful words to say? Still, you walked past everyone and showed a bright smile in front of your best friends. So, if they ever heard everyone’s opinions, you could at least show them that you don’t care about everyone's negative views. It's not like your friends could listen to anything over Yujin’s screaming, but just as a precaution, you smile extra brightly every day.
“I’m less than two feet away from you, Yu.”
“Just making sure you remember where to sit!” Yujin was practically bouncing off the walls; you couldn’t understand where she got all this energy from.
“We sit at the same table every day, Yu.”
“Hey, Jimin.” The same chipper yet quieter voice came from the other half of the table.
“Heya Y/n.” Y/N was always pretty quiet; you just chalked it up to nervousness. Yujin always knew how to draw a crowd with her antics, so it wouldn’t surprise you if Y/N felt overwhelmed by the attention.
“What’s got you bouncing around today, Yu? You’re usually hyper, but it looks like you took it up a notch.”
“She’s acting like she just had four megadoses of cocaine.” You laughed since your friends always had a way with words. You wished you could speak freely, but that would go against your character.
Your character.
“How could you not be excited? Graduation is less than FOUR days away.”
“You’re just excited to party.”
“Well duh? High School was a fucking drag. Of course, I’m excited to celebrate leaving this place.”
“Maybe if you joined a club, or, I don’t know, applied yourself, it wouldn’t be such a drag.”
“You sound like my mother; sorry, we can’t all be perfect like Yoo Jimin.”
That stung. You hated that phrase. You hated being the one everyone compared themselves to. Was it so bad that you worked hard? Can’t they get off their asses every once in a while and help out? No, instead, they’re too busy blaming you for setting an impossible standard. They blamed you for being Yoo Jimin. Fuck being Yoo Jimin.
You couldn’t say any of this, though; it would be out of character for you. All you could do was smile and laugh. You’re Spring Hill’s golden child; why complain about being told you’re perfect?

All your hard work ended up being worth it. You guess? Here you were at the same graduation party as everyone else. Going to the same college as your close friends. The same college as your friend Yujin, who graduated with a 2.3 GPA, while you graduated with a perfect 4.0. The same college as your friend Y/N, who never did an extracurricular activity in their life while you did in 7.

Before you had the chance to speak to Yujin, you felt a sudden voice come slithering into your ear. It was Ning Yi Zhuo.
“Yeonjun’s here with that bitch he left me for; it’ll totally make him jealous if we kiss, don’t you think? He’s a total asshole for cheating on me; he deserves this.”
No. Why would you agree to that? Sure, you heard the rumors about Yeonjun cheating. You agreed that he deserved some sort of payback. But not with you. Why would someone like you kiss Ningning? The school’s known rich bitch? That wasn’t very in character for you. That wasn’t very Yoo Jimin.
…… Fuck Yoo Jimin. You just wanted to live life normally; you wanted to drink and curse. Fail an exam. Stay out past midnight and trespass around town. You hated the high pedestal everyone put you on. You didn’t want to be ‘The Yoo Jimin.’ You just wanted to be Jimin.
