can we just talk about how fucking crazy it is that, in hotd, we're meant to believe that rhaenyra targaryen (the king's only child, the girl who has the title of "realm's delight", and a literal PRINCESS) has... absolutely no friends or acquaintances except 🤮alicent🤮? like, no friends... at all? even though she's a princess? even though she's supposedly the realm's delight? like, the realm is delighted by her and her only friend is the hand's stupid ass daughter? okay ryan, whatever you say...

Chapter 28

Daemon is with Rhaenyra and a group of young nobles who have chosen to spend the afternoon in the Fountain Garden. Some men are playing cards or dice, and a few stand to the side, entertaining themselves with a set of wooden balls, which they try to push into small holes in the ground using long sticks. The ladies are either strolling along the alleyways, picking up flowers, gossiping or sewing. Rhaenyra and Daemon sit under a great silk canopy, a board of Cyvasse between them, while Rhaenyra’s ladies watch the game eagerly. Not too far away, under another canopy, the servants bustle around the trestle table, preparing luncheon for the youth. When the people notice Viserys, they bow and curtsey, murmuring greetings and attempting to start a conversation, but Viserys only smiles and marches on, heading towards his daughter and brother. “Who’s winning?” he asks when he reaches them. Daemon laughs. “I am.” “No, you’re not,” Rhaenyra grumbles under her breath.

Chapter 28 / Chapter 1

The time he spent on the Stepstones made him forget how dull Viserys and his court were. Daemon was gone for eight years, yet the Red Keep has not changed at all in that time. He notices it as soon as he returns. Viserys has grown fatter, yet he’s still the same oblivious fool who wants to please every grasping lord and scheming lady. Every day, a feast or banquet is hosted to entertain the pompous lords and empty the Crown’s coffers, and merely a sennight after his return, Daemon is dying of boredom. There is only a single bright spot amidst the crowds of droning lords and ladies draped in ridiculous garments. Viserys’ daughter and Daemon’s niece – Rhaenyra.

FINALLY FINISHED THIS WIP!!! School and family stuff was beating my ass, so I had to put a massive pause on this one, but it's finally done T_T I just had to rep my RIGHTFUL queen Rhae-Rhae, I love her to infinity and beyond!!! I rrly do need to draw her more tho... anyways, I think I'm going to draw more asoiaf portraits and make it a little series. idk who I should draw next tho, maybe Daenerys? Or another character from the dance? I'm open to request lmao
