Was talking with @spookyflavors, trying to find a voice match for how I hear Error in my head, and she pointed me towards Wreck Gar from the Transformers Animated series, who is actually perfect once I imagine that voice saying lines from the Ask Error blog and what I’ve written for him --

But then she revealed it’s Weird Al with a buzzy robot voice filter and that’s just

possibly the most jilarious outcome I can think of.

Here it is! Finished piece for my redesign of Swap!Sans / Blue.

Please imagine his homemade not-actually-metal armor clattering hilariously whenever he moves.

Decided to do a digital recolor and tweak some elements~

This is the Something New timeline:

There is a Bad Ending -- a timeline where Sans helps r̸̭̽ȩ̵̈́d̶̫͘a̴̱̽c̴̰̓t̶̬̑ȅ̷̙d̶̹̾ or the Bad Sanses -- and a Good Ending, a timeline where Sans kills ŕ̵͓͗̀ë̵͈͕́̓d̷͉͐͛̓ȁ̶̳̳̥̚c̸̻͔̒̒̆t̵͎́͘e̴̞̬̝͌͂d̸̥͈́.

Let’s see what happened first:

Sans will of course say “No.” He doesn’t want to help ř̶̹͙̘̖̺͎̘̪̣̪́̎̚ͅe̶̡͙̫̤̳̗̜̰͕̟̽̿̓̔͝d̶̳͔͎̲̥̙̮͚̩͉̗͔̦̊̊̅̇̏̈́͒̈́̒̕͝a̷̪̐̃͂͗̃̂͛c̴̟͔̏̋̽̿̋͝t̵̡̩͎̱̘̝͙͔͚̑̏̽́̐̅̊ͅe̷̡͈̞̱͓̺̱̞͚͕̫̍̈́̇̌̀͗d̶̳̄̔̌̀̓̀̈̚͝ kill his friends.

His code says that. He is “programmed” to be like this.

But “YOU” want to change the code.

Please let him say yes. Let him say yes! We want him to HURT THEM. We want him to KILL THEM.

Killer Sans is here because of “YOU.”

And you want him to love you.

“I have something special, just for you.”

Very rough concept sketch for another form of Nightmare to use in my own stories (maybe! eventually!) -- I like writing him as speaking very eloquently in a cruel, condescending way, but it’s a little undermined when he looks like our round snuggly boy Sans Undertale. 😂 I just don’t find him scary in a hoodie and basketball shorts. He can be scary in the way he behaves, but... well, it’s fun to play around with new ideas, too.

So I hc that while sometimes he chooses to look like Sans, specifically around people who know Sans because it’s extremely unsettling to see a warped, goopy, tentacled version of someone you know and love (or to see a warped, goopy, tentacled version of yourself!), his default form borrows more from the body he stole/corrupted -- i.e., from the true Nightmare. He’s chosen to make himself intimidatingly tall, though, with unsettling proportions. He wears the robe open and is just naked bones underneath because people are often spooked by skeletal figures... he’s SOL with skelefuckers, though, hahahaha~
