I think I'm in love with Giulio Gandini already
About the game: it's an RPG that recreates the main storyline but also gives the option to play alternate vesions of events according the character you play as.
Junpei being one of them you can actually accept Yuuji's offer to go to the school.
I personally don't play the game, cause it doesn't run well on my phone and just not my kind of game in general.
But as a JJK experience seems very fun at least for the character moments and interactions. A friend of mine keep me in touch of how it's play the game.
I hope they add more Junpei exclusive interactions with characters in his route.
They also give us this art memory:
Truly though, that opening in season 1 featuring junpei laughing and having fun and being friends with the first year trio broke my heart when he died but how good of a life would he actually have had he become a sorcerer and gone to school with yuuji and co?
Like isn't it a huge thing thematically how sorcerers are doomed? And maybe he would have not been manipulated by mahito and played like a puppet but he would go to this new and shiny school and then be treated horribly by the system in place.
one could almost believe that yoichi birthed nine himself (afo fathered him)
I do believe it, hard to not when Nine looks like they got mixed into one person.
Most perfect genetics ever!
This is the real Dad For One theory right there.
what if nine wore glasses???
and yes besides my beloved jervis, there is my beloved nine UuU i have so many beloveds...it will take too long to name them all
He is so pretty and his story is kinda sad...poor nine my baby everyone should respect nine...NOW!
i think the glasses kinda suits him
But Chisaki needs a maternal figure in his life as well... and considering I ship OverHawks very hard is funny imagine Nagant reaction when she see his successor and the yakuza she rescued together. She would be like "The world sure is tiny".
Outside of that she taking care of Kai shows how her primary instincs of being a protective figure are still there, which could also extent to other characters.
...
Kind of funny how Shoto with a double effect quirk is seen as some kind of miracle and god among mens, yet when Midoriya starts unlocking quirks every month people is like "oh yeah whatever".
I think that's just Horikoshi making everyone act like an idiot only for the reveal of OFA being a thing look like a big surprise, but that only makes the characters seem stupid. And there's this recurrent joke among the fandom of how the photographer dude from S4 discovered Midoriya secret after spend a few hours with him, but his friends just give his power for granted.
Cider is way smarter than them. He would notice something isn't very normal about a person with so many powers, but that also would fascinate him and what to know more, because it is a cool thing to have.
His line "I'm a man who lives for the thrill" lives in my mind now. Rent free. He is a bold but smart man.
I was wondering...what it he goes to steal smth in UA? Not sure on what he could steal but hey why not? That would be a huge blow to their egos.
Plot twist. Izumi beats him first and she is the one to invade UA and stole SMTH - it was crucial for her plans- BK tried to downplayed so hard but hates how everyone is impressed.
No idea of what he would steal, but if he and Izu converge the same day with the same plan of steal some shit and they're like "wtf are you doing here?".
They almost start fighting but then Bakugou appears and tries to capture them screaming "Die!" as usual, but then Izu and Cider join forces and humilliate BK in public in the U.A grounds. A hard hit for his ego.
That would be also a moment for fall into a spiral of love and horniness for our thiefs.
I mean why not? At least with Bakugou being a descendant of Kudo you can at least make a believable connection between them, rather than just "The importance of Bakugou in AFO fight is based on the fact he looks like the guy who stole his brother a century ago" which is dumb af.
Canon possum is a joke but one thing I never forget is how decay IS powerful, sure a powerful quirk with an idiot is not a good thing in many fronts but...
Cinder (I'm loving him already) has to know a guy who can decay stuff with one touch even if he is an idiot.
Would cinder be worried about the quirk ?
Again, shig is an idiot and a bad leader and all that but one thing we can't deny is he knows how to fight.
So I think cinder would make a point to avoid him like the plague.
In canon Cider is the kind of person who knows he shouldn't bite off more than he can chew, since after all his plan during his debut was to steal during a very specific moment in which heroes aren't present, so is more reward without having to fight and less risk.
It was just a coincidence that A.M was there with Bakugou and Todoroki.
I guess his mentality also applies to fight dangerous villains, and the lov had some big names attached them. Their reputation probably was enough for Cider to not have his gang involved with such group of psychos.
But... I disagree on Shigaraki being a good fighter.
Maybe before all the bs power ups given by the doctor he at least knew how do surprise attacks and such, but Decay being such a one-dimensional quirk also means the user doesn't require a lot of skill to put it in use. It is basically just run towards the enemy and touch for instakill.
Which became even more braindead post awakening. Like even Overhaul has more room to be creative and need skill to put in use.
Decay is just a broken and boring quirk that requieres nothing to be effective. Crusty asshole somehow manages to be more plain than he already was at first, is like he evolves in reverse.
I hope I started a chain reaction to get more people interesting into Cider House.
One at time.
It's funny as hell how Horikoshi declared a lot of times how he put so much effort on Shigaraki design to make him unique and super symbolic, just for ended up going with a generic shirtless look for most the rest of the series and big muscles rather than his original boney look.
I guess he realized people didn't take seriously as villain a dude with a lot of hands and clown shoes.
Note: maybe that's why also almost every other time post awakening Shigaraki is barefoot?
I think he spend more time barefoot at this point than with the clown shoes on.
Can't stop thinking about a CiderDeku focused AU in which our favorite seltzer boy and Midoriya work as part time vigilantes together.
And since Izuku has a fire bending quirk in this AU, the contrast of his quirk and Cider's (who is named Mizunami Himura in this story) make people start calling them "Steam-Bow couple" as their unofficial vigilantes name.
Still thinking about the details of how they started their crusade together as vigilantes, but I like that idea I mention in other post about Mizunami saving Izuku from Bakugou when both of them still were in Aldera and Midoriya was around 13. Mizunami still was the leader of the Cider House gang (and maybe two years older than Midoriya) but later he left the group because he felt his members started to be way too problematic and getting in worse situations with civilians and heroes, something he didn't like because while Mizunami commited crimes like robbery he never tried to harm innocent people during his operations.
Besides he started feeling for Izuku after protect him from Bakugou, and since Izu wanted to stay with him after the incident they both start to get along and quickly became good friends, Mizu also helping Izu no being so shy and insecure about himself due the years of bullying.
He start helping Izuku to train his quirk and body during his free time, which served a lot for Midoriya to get in good shape and develop a fight style for the years to come as he still intented to apply to at least a low-middle tier hero school (and this will became important later).
I like to think the incident with the Sludge monster from chapter 1 was what caused a twist on their relationship, as unlike what happens in canon here when both of them are attacked by the Slime that escaped from A.M, Izuku and Mizunami give the monster a big surprise because they were able to fight back.
Slime turned to be quite vulnerable to water and fire combined, which allowed Izu and Mizu to restrain him in a bottle of soda and left him for the heroes finish the job later, as they run totally excited by the experience.
After escape and being safe, Izuku suddenly jump to the arms of Mizunami and they started kissing out of the excitement of the moment. When they calm down both smiled and since that moment they became officially boyfriends, and decide they would have more moments like this in the future so they will start fight criminals together.
Also the incident also give Izuku the final confidence boost he always needed and when Bakugou provoked him after school trying to make fun of Mizunami who was there for walk along Izuku to his home, Midoriya decided he had enough when Katsuki insulted his boyfriend.
So what happened next is that Izuku deep breath and expelled a big green fire ball from his mouth, which resulted in Bakugou getting a lot of first degree burns and loosing his eyebrows (something for what he would be mocked a lot later).
Mizunami used his water quirk to extinguish the fire over Bakugo's clothes who is totally terrified, then Mizu and Izuku laugh at him take a picture with their funs for future reference and run away together.
Hi @nyc3
CinderIzu is great and Cinder as a character was ignored, slept on ...bc villain stans are predictable into hot villains like dabi and shig(yes, shig is hot even in his possum way) and ...damn this fandom waste a good opportunity for a ship.
For a moment, thought you were talking about my idea.
I do like the idea Izumi being considered so beautiful even with her scars (she is prettier bc of her scars bc this woman survived) so in a country where the woman's value depends on her beauty...Izumi carrying her scars and being hot is amazing. Cinder would be into!
Cinder would also be into kill bk!
Her entire story, as she describes what BK did, seems like SA. See? The difference of boy and girl here is how people perceive the violence.
But I'm into this ship.
I do like sgdk a lot.
I do like dabideku too
But CinderIzu??? I'm open and so far like the ideas.
I guess you mean this one?
It look similar, but it could also be just another quirk very similar looking. After all AFO has a lot of quirks which look samey.
Like it could be just air cannon being used differently or something like that, as Shigaraki is kind of propeling himself rather than float.
Besides is fun to imagine AFO being so petty that he would deny Shigaraki having his original quirk in any capacity just for the lols.
Does the UA data book acknowledge that "flying circles" was a variant of "Float"?
Here's a translation. So it's a quirk that works sort of like the way a double jump in a video game would work and allows you to float. Its pretty much a variant of Nana's just had rings when used to propel itself.
There's another panel i can't find where Tomura uses it too and you can see the rings around his feet.
But yeah
Feel free to use any of my ideas for your AU if you want! And adapt them to your style, as you probably would put a better use than me.
That includes the names for Cider.
...
I already love your own ideas for develop their relationship since their meet. Their teamwork and the way the gain mutual respect.
And the whole concept of Cider/Mizunami having a "Oh no, he's hot" moment is pure gold.
Just imagine if his mask breaks and he takes the parts off showing his face cover in dirt, sweat and a bit of blood after a that fight which he wins. All this in front of of Izumi who will be dying inside by the view of so much testosterone lol.
...
Geten being illiterate might be actually canon, as Horikoshi explained he never go to a school and rather trained his quirk all his life. And that's kinda sad if you think about it.
He really is the perfect child soldier, coming from a family like the Himuras who are elitist jerks obssesed with status and power (and they even practice inbreeding between their clans) capable of sell their members like objects no matter the gender as both him and Rei were sold very young for different porpuse. And Geten was sold to a quirk elitist maniac who probably brainwashed him into serve to the ideology of a guy from 300 years ago, and Re-Destro is okay with Geten not having any kind of education apparently.
Yeah that's a rough life for sure...
But also a gold mine for interactions!
Especially between him and his biological family.
In my AU all the Todoroki kids, Geten and Cider are cousins by the Himura side, at some point all them should be reunited in one way or another. Think about that sweet drama...
The parallels you made between Mizunami and Geten are brilliant. Hope it can develop into a good dynamic in which both can lear from each other rather than just being enemies.
The whole cinderIzu is great and I welcome with open arms. For my au, I have an idea for them meet.
Again, BK is a footnote in her life and Izumi is not dedicating all her time and energy in thinking of him. (She hears how his quirk remains the same, no quirk awakening bs, how bk's attitude got worse and how Aizawa is sure BK is the future)
Izumi hears about the mpa here and there and ...is not impressed. She needs money, her group can't work by luck...they need ration and more, and Izumi is not happy ReDestro has "schools" for kids to learn their quirks...its just a camp where the kid learns how to use their quirk AND NOTHING ELSE (Geten my be alliterate here)
Stealing from Redestro is not something she can pull off on her own. She needs help to do this heist.
(the quirk schools aren't illegal, per se, but it rubs Izumi in the wrong way. She is right)
Enters Cinder. He shows up with his helmet, all gear up and...well, he too needs money and Mr. Youtsubashi is loaded and if he wants to make quirk schools, fine...let's rob the fucker.
Izumi gawks as Cinder removes his helmet. He is handsome and cute...she wasn't expecting this.
Lol
(I love a good mask reveal!)
I also live for the moments when a character takes of their mask and reveals to be hot, and Cider isn't the exception. I mean can you blame Midoriya for what him?
Note: Izu probably loves in particular the little scar Cider got in his eyebrown, he/her found that detail to be especially sexy.
...
Is funny you mention the whole plot of Cider helping Izu to steal stuff from Re-Destro company, as I also have this idea of him making an operation to steal from a werehouse full of valuable tech and support items that Detnerant (I think that's the company name) sells into the black market.
They would have success stealing a lot of merch they later sell to get money, but also Cider found a particularly expensive prototype of a high tech glider he decides to keep for himself and use to compliment his surfing style. As Mizunami is really into surfing in my AU, like he seems to be in canon.
Oh I forgot to mention before but the vigilante name Cider/Mizunami will use for my AU will be "Splashdown". Be free to use it if you like the name.
And since you mentioned Geten here, do you think he will have some role in the story? As I mentioned before I love the idea of Cider being a Himura, but also he probably was rejected by his clan because his quirk is water instead of ice and the Himuras seems to be the kind of elitist jerks to would dishonor a child for born with a "imperfect" quirk.
Which would create a lot of tension between Cider and Geten, especially is they reconogice each other. Geten hating Cider for being "a failed Himura" and Cider will hate Geten because he's just a "an attack dog" for Re-Destro.
Greek gods energy 🌩
Whoever decided it was a good idea to gift us with the image of AFO and Nine showing their perfect bodies, thanks to that person 🙏
It's a shame Nine was mostly ignored by the fandom, but it's understandable considering HR was released during the time MVA was at it's peak of hype and everyone treated it like the 2nd coming of Christ.
Also if you're a movie character isn't like people is going to remember you very much, expect for Rody Soul, while the others like Melissa or the Shimano kids have a little niche of fans but that's it.
But it's funny how years later there was a resurgence in the talks of how the main villain should have been and Nine got a lot more of appreciation recently, cause compared to Shigaraki and AFO his characterization feels way more solid despite he having much less content.
Also people generally accepts Nine showed to be a better fighter and more skilled user of the properties of AFO (the quirk). To add to the irony.
You know? It's kinda of funny how LOV fans treat the whole "I want to be a hero for villains" of Shigaraki as something groundbreaking, when the same concept was already introduced in the series (and was done better) with Nine.
Unlike Shigaraki, Nine literally meet his team members when he saved their lives. In Chimera's case it was when a bunch of racists were about to execute him just for being a mutant.
Nine also was a hero for them in a more thematic level, as he not only save their lives but actually give his team mates a reason for live and fight. He offered them the chance to fight for create a better world. For me it's quite remarkable how Nine despite being a homeless and chronically ill person, go for save people he view as equally oppressed by the world.
He was selfless enough to sacrifice his own health using his quirk to save Chimera despite it was destroying his body, and without expecting nothing in exchange for share a dream Nine a hand to people at their lowest point.
That's much more of an "All Might for the villains" or whatever Horikoshi tried to make Shigaraki in the final moments. Or hell Nine even acts better as a foil to Deku in the sense both are selfless individuals who fight despite their bodies are crumbling, just for the save of the persons who are important to them.
How ironic is that Nine, the original movie villain that was supposed to be just a prototype for the "final villain" of MHA, ended executing the same themes way better than Shigaraki.
Hi @nyc3 👋
A main reason as to why people treat shigaraki's I want to be a hero for the villains ideology better than nine's is simply because I assume a lot of people forgot the plot of the 2nd movie or haven't read the one shot manga chapter mha leauge of villains undercover. All of this is a shame because I heavily agree that nine's version of I want to be a hero and hope for the villains is executed and built up 10000x times better than shigarakis and nine had a fraction of the screentime that shigaraki got which is saying a lot.
Actually rewatching the film and rereading the manga one-shot has showed me that nine and shigarakis arcs are pretty similar with nine's having a better execution and shigaraki having more wasted potential.
The movie sets it clear that nine and shigaraki are supposed to be foils for one another so it makes sense that they would share parallels. However, you would expect that by the time nine is defeated that shigaraki would naraatively prove to us that he is ultimately the better character but in truth he doesn't and nine's downfall by shigaraki ends up being quite disappointing to me.
Another problem within the narrative is also the lack of interactions that nine and shigaraki have. I think that nine is essential to helping shigaraki and start to infulence him to realise that he is just a puppet and should develop a goal outside of just destruction. If shigarakis goal stays as destruction then the destruction of what? Everything? And how would that benefit anyone including him?
Nine like you said meets his teammates and saves them. He sees his teammates suffer like him and chooses to help them and they choose to help him. There is a clear relationship being developed and all the characters come together for the same goal, with similar backgrounds and varying styles yet they work.
When nines team see him in distress they run to help him and vice versa. The team has trust and overall everything that a lot of the leauges dynamics and development lacks.
Nine seeks destruction but his path is clear. He seeks to liberate and let nature flow its course with the strong overtaking the weak and finally being leaders instead of feared and abused because they don't fit into the small little box that is the mha's status quo. Nine plans to get stronger while being fully conscious and knowing the consequences. He makes a logical and heroic decision where we see him realise that he is trading his own autonomy and agency in becoming a lab rat all in exchange for power and a slim chance at achieving his goal.
This is all contrasted with shigaraki and his actions. We don't see his goal of destruction develop into a much more consistent and precise idea like destroying the giver and status quo. We don't see shigaraki fully conscious to come to the conclusion that yes the doctor is evil but he needs power. We lack everything from shigaraki and the information of chapter 419 just makes his character worse as shigaraki was a lab rat through and through.
Horikoshi tries to make shigaraki the better character but nine outclassed him in every way possible from the traumatic beginnings, to the developed flawed goal and to the final bitter end where we see nine crumble due to various factors 1)shigarakis decay and 2) his illness whereas shigaraki dies due to afo still being a lab rat that fulfills his purpose.
All of this reminds me of the ask that said mha's manga ending is a sloppy edited 2nd movie ending (except I was only looking at it from a hero perspective but it even applies to the villains)
