Niko Sasaki’s death is not inherently tragic because she dies or because it’s sudden, even though it’s upsetting. Dead Boy Detectives is a show about 2 dead boys solving cases mostly centered around other ghosts, death isn’t an end in this world. Edwin even says “Take it from a ghost, no one is ever gone.” The reason her death is so tragic is because she was happy. She had spent so long self isolating in a state of grief because of her father’s passing, avoiding her mother completely. But now she has a support system, friends who love her, she’s even going to reconnect with her mom. She has Edwin and Charles and Crystal and Jenny (with her and Jenny’s bond slowly healing). But it was also these connections that led her to Esther’s home, and led her to her death. All of her newfound joy for life and the potential she had was all taken from her.
I mean-
Cat King, mockingly: Well, aren't you sugar and spice and everything nice? Charles: Well, aren't you rudeness and sarcasm and everything… uh… Cat King: No, go on. You find something that rhymes with sarcasm and makes sense and I'll stop acting like an asshole.
Idk what I would do in this world without cats 🐈
Don't trust the orange 😅🐈
I didn’t realize you were the person who did the fanfiction tag drinks.

To maximize the angst one could think after the ice chapter, Zane instead meets the ice emperor instead of himself and he gets really touchy and anxious around his element; ice itself welling up in uncontrolled bursts because for fifty years the element was allowed to fester over the entire never realm, not understanding and now feeling trapped inside just one single being and only unlocked periodically. When Zane tries to use his element he's constantly trying to seek a tiny sliver and not the entire flood however while doing this he's just making his problem even worse. And most times it's not even helpful, sure it's nice when instead of making a road slick for a runaway burglar it completely freezes the vehicular but most times it's the easy little tasks that go rogue and cause utter chaos: he was trying to ice Jay's coffee once and he completely froze Jay head to toe in an ice block that Kai had to later carefully thaw away, not to mention the hypothermia and cold that Jay was diagnosed with later.
Au where like. The elements are somewhat sentient and can talk to their hosts in their mind (think like naruto and ninetails. that's the only example i can think of,) and they tend to take the form of the person who has held their element the longest. And day one Zane meets ice and it's him. how fucked up would that be
