The Neighbours, Terraces of Algiers (1887) by Frederick Arthur Bridgman
High Noon (1952) dir. Fred Zinnemann
A fragment of The King in Yellow, and a companion piece to this one (the kind feedback on it made my month, seriously, thank you) 💛
I’m considering making a small batch of prints of both of them, wanted to gauge interest first, though.
Some progress pics under the cut from before the colored pencil layer:
The colored pencils do most of the work, the marker is just there as a guideline/to avoid the white of the paper showing through.
So real I am gnawing on it like a chew toy
So it’s official guys… the Malevolent hyperfixation has reached the red zone…. haven’t hyperfixated this bad since the reawakening of my Homestuck hyperfixation in 2019.
we are at the point where my brain is trying to find any excuse to connect Malevolent to literally anything i am doing and it just keeps getting worse. I am gonna start relistening to it and taking in depth notes pretty soon
So podcast is going well
Apps that do that suggestive auto scroll for tou make me feel violent
Reblog this if you want to make friends who are into whump too.
I’m SO obsessed with the implications at the end of Da Capo.
What did The Manager mean when he spoke to the unknown You. Is it Us? Is he talking to us?? O feel like the implication here is not only that he knows that we are an entity tagging along, but that he knows that we (or in this case, the Patreon users) are the ones influencing his decisions. We are inextricably tied to Arthur and the choices he makes and he’s cautioning us to work WITH him on this because ultimately WE are making his decisions whether he knows/wants it or not.
Also that last line mmmmmmmm oh boy that last line implies that not only have Arthur and John gone through this before, but so have we. WE have directed their decisions before, and WE are the reason they’ve failed in the past. WE need to not fuck it up this time or it’s reality on the line. Ooooh Mr Harlan Guthrie you’ve really done it now I’m not going to be normal about this
