I also decided to experiment a bit with my art. the nose, eyes, and hair were inspired by old Irish art I was looking at the other day!

Northern Ireland headcanons

I know I said awhile back I was going to do Éire hcs but I actually finished N.I’s before him. so N.I it is! 

1 - Northern Ireland is blind and deaf. He was born deaf, but became blind during WWII when a bomb blew up in his face.

(He did die from that! However he came back to life due to he isn’t disappearing anytime soon)

2 - He has a dog. He loves her a lot.

3 - Northern Ireland refuses to see Ireland and Britain as his parents. He doesn’t want anything to do with them and he’ll only talk to them if necessary. 

(However he is close to some people on Éire’s side of the family. Those people being Down, Fermanagh, Antrim, Londonderry/Derry, Armagh, and Tyrone. He also sometimes talks to the other counties. N.I and Wexford don’t get along though.

He isn’t close to anyone on Britain’s side)

4 - When he became blind he needed help to get around, so county Fermanagh helped him out the most! Fermanagh stills helps Northern Ireland to this day. 

5 - Northern Ireland had a twin, whose name was Southern Ireland. The two were quite close but were opposites in many ways. 

6 - He’s bicurious 

How I got into Countryhumans

I’d say how I got into this fandom was pretty tame, at least better then some stories I’ve heard from people.

So around 2020 I came across Countryhumans, the video that introduced me to this fandom was an endless meme featuring the uk and the countries within it. I remember loving it a lot. That was the day I stumbled upon this fandom and joined it.

I saw things I wish I didn’t see when I looked more into the fandom but it’s too late now to really do anything about that. The ships I saw forever haunt me in my sleep.

sometimes I wonder why I joined this fandom but one thing I am happy about is that I’ve seen some really cool authors, artists and I made a friend from this fandom so I don’t regret a thing really and if I hadn’t joined this fandom I would’ve never discovered those amazing people.

Okay so finally after like a couple of days of working on this and my art program crashing or lagging every time I wanted to continue drawing this, I have finally finished the fanart!

Geiléis being confused

I have no clue what to title this but you know something that has always confused me? It’s when I’ve seen people make Éire’s parent the IRA(Irish Republican Army), or the IRB(Irish Republican Brotherhood) OR OR SOMETIMES JUST HIMSELF?? LIKE ÉIRE BEING IRELAND’S PARENT DESPITE “ÉIRE” IS JUST IRELAND’S NAME IN GAEILGE.

I wish to understand why I’ve seen some people make Éire’s parent or parents those people.

Also wouldn’t Éire need to exist first before the IRA and also the IRB to exist? And it’s not like I’ve seen these people mention another Ireland personification before that Ireland.

I don’t know it just confuses me

Geiléis talks about Dublin!

Baile Átha Cliath or Dublin is a very fun character for me to write(as I’ve written her quite a lot I’d say). I talked about to this a friend of mine but I wanted to share it here!

Dublin is quite full of herself due to the fact she holds the capital in her county, Éire accidentally making her believe she was the Kingdom of Dublin, and that she gets to go with Éire to wherever he goes and be in the public eye sometimes.

Dublin feels special because of that. Also time to bring in the fact that she wants be like her father in a way. Whenever Éire was gone, she took the lead because she wanted to be like him and be a leader. Northern Ireland has brought up that fact that Dublin seems to act like Éire in I think “The girls are fighting!” one-shot.

She tries to act like Éire because she also thinks people will like her more and that she will become Éire’s favourite child. She wants Éire’s attention especially when he started distancing himself from the counties in the 19th century all the way up to the early 20th century.

Dublin hasn’t talked to Éire about how she(and the other counties) feel about him distancing himself from them even if it was in the past and he’s apologised for it. It hurt the counties a lot.
