hello there!
5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself
If we're not counting drawing for work I post ~85% of what I make! I don't share most warm ups or silly doodles I do for friends. What's more common for me not to share is my writing! I have piles of feverish poetry and comic scripts lying around- sometimes I'll come back to them and make piece about it to post, but most of the time it's just another outlet for me to get stuff out of my head.
14. Any favorite motifs
Oooooh this is hard... visually... i'm a sucker for anything dark, snowy with lots of delicate lanterns or lights....think The Lantern Bearers by Maxfield Parrish meets old fashioned christmas scenes from the early 1900s. Love it when art feels shiny, warm but not modern.
In a literary way? I enjoy anything playing with the idea of self-sacrifice like FMAB or LOTR! I like to see characters lose and choose to keep going or somehow still find something to fight for. Noncharismatic main characters I think are really interesting to watch unfold. Something really comforting in seeing narratives that are like "things will never be the same but I still want to try".
btw!! I'll be selling an original comic at ShortBox Comics Fair this October! Here is my sneak peek page o__o
