This International Womenās Day, I want to take a moment to thank women in motorsport.
Thank you to the women who broke boundaries and proved to the world that they belonged.
Thank you to the women following in their footsteps and fighting challenge after challenge to be given the same on-track opportunities as their male counterparts in the sport they live for.
Thank you to the women behind the scenes, making sure that the teams are running smoothly, cars are functioning, limits of engineering are being tested, strategies are working, and drivers are staying (mostly) media-trained
Thank you to the women on the broadcasts, in the pit lane, and in the media pen who had to fight twice as hard to be taken seriously and now live out of hotel rooms making sure fans are kept up to date with all of the newest news.
And thank you to the women in the stands, behind their TV screens, and on social media who never let anyone extinguish their love for this sport, no matter how many times male fans assumed they only watch for the āhot driversā or tried to quiz them as if they needed to āproveā their fandom.
