Know that at a glance, your deities have seen every part of you that lies within, and they loved you enough to stick around. The "horrible flaws" that you think you have may not be as horrible as you believe they are.
At the very least, your deities have seen your potential for change, and they knew so confidently that you were capable of it that they have remained by your side to help you along your path. It takes a considerable amount of love and care for someone to do that.

If I think too hard about ancient Greece I'll cry because what do you mean I'll never get to worship at my gods' temples in their full glory? Imagine how close they must have felt. The wind through the temple halls must have felt like their breath. Standing in those temples must have felt like standing before that god themself. Giving them tiny offerings as they tower over you. Approving.
My chest feels tight with the knowing that I'll never be able to bow with my face to the cold floor in those sacred spaces.
UGH!
