I don't think enough people are talking about this line.
What a sick fuckin burn

Thinking about the "Exactly!" scene and the "your exactly isn't my exactly" and how that perfectly translated to the ep. 6 ending and their separate ideas of how to deal with the situation, how to achieve happiness.
"I don’t think he has any friends"
Crowley's "exactly" is pointing out how bad Gabriel used to be, how he's mean and how he doesn't have any friends - only allies and enemies and either way he is trouble for him and Aziraphale. How they should get him as far away from them as possible, get themselves as far away from him as possible.
Aziraphale's "exactly" means Gabriel's alone and vornelable and in need of a friend. He doesn't have anyone to take care of him, to help him. He's in need of help, of guidence. Aziraphale is hoping this is a chance to make Gabriel a good person. That helping him is the good, right thing to do.
And they have to straighten that out, that they don’t mean the same thing.
And it's so similar when it comes to their approach to finding happiness together at the end of the season
Crowley's way is to run away, get as far as they can from heaven and hell. Carve their own piece of space far away from anybody who could disturb them and any trouble that could come and find them.
But Aziraphale's way is to try and change heaven for the better, it's to give a helping hand and believe that with enough good will and effort they can make it not be their enemy but their friend. Its to work with what is and prevent trouble that could come and disturb them from ever occuring in the first place. Its solving everyones problems just so they could protect the little piece of space they carved out for themselves (Earth).
The thing is - the "exactly" scene is them understanding each other on some level: They both are aware the other is on the same page - we need to deal with this Gabriel situation. They just can't agree about how to deal with it.
Its different when it comes to the breakup scene.
They aren't aware they are on the same page here when it comes to what they are dealing with. There's huge miscommunication.
Because Crowley doesn't understand that Aziraphale is thinking of their happiness together. Aziraphale doesn't communicate to him well that he wants to change heaven for Crowley, for them. Maybe he is deluding himself that he doesn't, that he wants to make heaven better cause that's the "right thing to do" in his eyes.
And so while in the "exactly" scene Crowley tries to convince his way of getting to deal with Gabriel is the right way, in the breakup scene he is not only trying to convince Aziraphale his idea of running away together is the right choice.
He is trying to tell him "this is what we are talking about here - our happiness together, our love"
And he's not certain Aziraphale is hearing him and so he tries and he tries and-
He kisses him
Surely that is direct enough, right? Surely he understands now?
And when Aziraphale responds with "I forgive you" what Crowley hears is "no, this is not what we're talking about here. There is no us in that sense"
But that is not at all what Aziraphale is saying. He's saying "you are making a mistake not choosing to deal with the problem my way".
He believes they are in the same situation they were in the "exactly" scene - that they are arguing about the actions to take to reach their goal of "happy together". He's so hung up on it he doesn't realize Crowley thinks he's not thinking of the same goal.
To Aziraphale "I forgive you" means "you're making a mistake but I love you and I'll be here for you when you come to your senses"
To Crowley "I forgive you" means "we're not on the same page, I don't love you like that, but we can forget all about it, go remake heaven & be friends".
And so Crowley says "don't bother". He doesn't want what he thinks Aziraphale wants. He's done.
A few things to add which I was told about in my self defense course:
- Your elbow is one of the hardest points on your body, same goes for your knee. Make use of them as long as you can.
- Sensory organs are weak points: Jab your fingers into their eyes, hit their ears with slightly cupped hands to rip their ear drums, push your thumbs up their nose until you can't get in further.
- Bite them. As hard as you physically can, try to tear out a piece of their flesh. Even if you don't succeed, teeth marks are unique and can be used for identification. What stops us from biting too deep into our own flesh is inhibitors in our brain. If you want to tear through their flesh, you can
- Go for the throat, especially the windpipe. The muscles there are really damn difficult to train so even if your attacker is twice your size and jacked like a bodybuilder, this likely remains a weak point. If you can hit them hard enough, you'll crush their windpipe.
- It doesn't matter how stupid it sounds, do anything you can think of: biting, scratching, pinching, spitting, hair pulling, punching, kicking. Anything you can think of, do it. You might be fighting for your life and you will stop at nothing.
It's likely they'll let you go if you're too much of a hassle.
Lastly: Don't worry about consequences. In most countries I'm aware of, you are allowed to defend yourself in case of emergencies. If you fear for your life and health pretty much everything is fair game to get yourself out of that situation.
Did not expect the newest Archon Quest to give some many answers, so many more questions and so fking much depression. Geez
TOMORROW IS HALLOWEEN!!!
I had to stop the episode for a damn moment cause I screamed.
Like, the theme music playing while they stand next to each other saying their line "We're not big on following orders."
It gave the vibes of their introduction in season 7 and I nearly cried tears of joy and sorrow.
I've rewatched their fight an unhealthy amount of time just to feel that serotonin boost
Honestly iconic
THE ATLA COMICS ARE ON WEBTOON NOW
I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL, THE ATLA COMICS ARE ON WEBTOON
! GO2 Spoilers !
I just realised something about the "I forgive you" from Aziraphale
Crowley said he was a demon and therefore unforgivable,
It's in his nature to not be forgiven
So when Aziraphale says that to him, after their confession no less, Crowley feels as though Aziraphale doesn't accept him for who he is
This show makes me cry days after I finished watching it, I can't
Reblog if you believe Tumblr should add the aroace colors to the aroace hastag. Make this a trend to get their attention
I’d never, ever hurt a lady but I’d be happy to punch a feminist. It’d bring me great joy.
