At the core of conservatism is a hatred for democracy and the will of the people. They think only the elite should have a say because they are deserving, and then only certain elite.

The throne room was absolutely pristine
The white marble of the pillars seemed to shine, and every pillar that had been broken before now stood repaired
Their cracks filled with pure gold
Percy stared up in awe, his eyes tracing every miniscule thread of gold that seemed to tell a story
In the middle of the room sat what had come to be known as the Reformed Council of Olympians (A name proposed (surprisingly) by Apollo and seconded (even more surprisingly) by Athena) around a massive table
As the clop of Chiron’s hooves began to echo through the room, the Olympians all stood to greet their guests
“Percy,” Athena said as she dipped her head in a respectful hello
Percy placed his hand over his heart and bowed slightly. “Lady Athena.”
Poseidon walked around the table and pulled his son into a hug the way swimmers are pulled into a rip current- aggressively and without warning
“Dad…. Dad, I can’t breathe,” Percy wheezed.
“Oh right!” Poseidon said, setting Percy down gently with a chuckle. “Sometimes I forget how fragile mortals are. Plus I’m just so damn proud of you, son.”

poem, “there’s laundry to do and a genocide to stop,” by vinay krishnan (x). transcription in alt text
madness of hera au
Percy’s heart stopped and he fell to his knees as tears began to stream down his face. “Annabeth,” he whispered.
She rushed towards him and he wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his face in her stomach.
She gently ran her fingers through his hair while cradling his head, attempting to soothe him through his sobs.
“It’s okay, Percy. We’re okay.”
He swallowed hard and concentrated on slowing his breathing, letting her familiar smell fill his lungs and bring him the peace he had been searching for so desperately
Finally he was able to pull his face from her, while keeping her waist firmly in his grip. “Are you… I mean, is this…”
She placed her hands on either side of his face, gently stroking his cheekbones with her thumbs. “This is real, Percy. I promise.”

To all the dumb-as-rocks people in the Palestine tag blaming the pro-Palestine Americans, arabs and muslim people for Kamala’s disastrous loss, rather than blaming the Democratic Party and the way they’ve been handling every issue while they’ve been in power. Yes, including funding a genocide in Palestine.
Let me explain the food stamps issue.
Today, all people on SNAP got their FEBRUARY benefit early. If you get January benefits you should still get them on your regular benefit day, provided it’s before (I believe) the 27th. (I may be wrong on that)
But yes, January and February benefits have been given out.
There will be no March benefit. Unless the shutdown ends and the 2019 budget is passed and the budget contains funding for SNAP.
The SNAP program has run out of money. There is no money for food stamps because the budget was not passed. In his tantrum over the Wall, Trump is starving us.
If you know somebody on Food Stamps, and you have some extra money, consider passing it their way. But also be prepared to help in March, and April and so on, if the shutdown doesn’t end, or if the budget does not contain SNAP funding.
Don’t let us starve to death.

Call me, Percy? valentine’s day edition. edit by sophii <3
This is Annabeth’s first Valentine’s day with Percy. Well, it’s actually their second, but it is the first one they will be spending together without anybody else and without having to be in school.
She has always celebrated previous ones with Hazel and Piper, going to Hazel’s mom’s restaurant and eating stupid amounts of food before watching rom coms in Hazel’s bedroom while they made themselves sick eating cookies and ice cream. She misses their love, misses being surrounded by and wrapped up in it on days like those, with chocolate smeared on cheeks and limbs crossed over underneath blankets. She hadn’t realised how much she would miss them until they were miles and miles away, making their own memories and futures just as she is.
She just misses them, is all.
“You got plans for the weekend?”
Annabeth looks over at her friend as they finish packing up from their lecture. “Percy’s coming down.”
“Right. You gonna go for dinner or something? That new italian restaurant in town is really good.”
They’re leaving the lecture hall now and Annabeth dodges a wild elbow which had been heading for her face. “Oh, um no. That’s not really our thing. We’re gonna go for a drive down the coast and probably get burgers or something.”
That earns a laugh. “Right. Y'all are cute.”
“Thank you, I think so too.”
