Gravitational Waves
Somewhere very far away, a long time ago, two black holes smashed into each other.
One was around 36 times more massive than the Sun, and the other 29 times more massive.
So devastatingly powerful was this event that it did something that might not even be obvious to most of us: it sent a sort of ‘quake’ through the fabric of spacetime.
The power radiated by the combining of the black holes is estimated to be more than the combined light power of all the stars and galaxies in the observable universe.
This ripple event is something known as a ‘gravitational wave’ and we’ve known about them for a very long time ~ sort of.
Einstein predicted their existence long ago as a consequence of the theory of general relativity, but up until now we’ve never had a direct observation of them.
A team of researchers from an international collaboration known as LIGO (Laser Interferometry Gravitational-Wave Observatory) seems to have been the first to observe.
Using lasers, LIGO found a subtle stretching and squeezing of spacetime itself was going on. How this happened is actually a remarkably simple concept:
First they shot a laser beam into a tunnel, that got split into two directions:
Here’s an ‘L’ shape to help you imagine the two tunnels it split into.
Next, once both lasers reached the end of their respective tunnels, they bounced back towards the spot where they split so that they could recombine.
A way to think about this is both lasers racing towards the lower-left corner of the ‘L’ again.
Here’s the rub:
Light can be thought of as a wave, with ripples and peaks etc. The waveform of these two laser beams, when combined add into each other.
If the two laser beams have the same wavelength (as they should if there’s no gravitational waves disturbing spacetime) the two split beams will recombine again into the original beam. It looks like this:
If the two laser beams get somehow disturbed and the waves peak on one as the other crests, the resulting combined beam will be that they simply cancel out:
So in the end, if the LIGO researchers detect alterations to their laser when the two beams recombine, they can tell if spacetime’s subtle ripples have morphed the lasers.
The consequences of this discovery are profound.
It, in a sense, opens up the universe to an entire new branch of physics: the universe of gravity.
Ever hear of dark matter? How about dark energy?
These two things are bound to get close scrutiny now as they’re both a part of what’s known as the ‘dark universe’ - basically neither phenomena interact with light (meaning one can’t see them), making it tough to learn much about them.
Yet much of the universe seems to be comprised of these ‘unseeable’ things.
If this discovery holds up, there’s almost certainly a Nobel Prize in the works.
Why? They may have - and I do mean maybe, not did - well…
The folks at LIGO may have just illuminated the 96% of the universe that’s been invisible to our senses for so long. We’ll have to wait and see.

About Tolerance and Intolerance in Islam Perspective
Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.
Nowadays headline topic about intolerance was warm up become sensitive because everyone has their perspective about tolerance and intolerance, hmmm moreover about religion.
Living in Indonesia, has 6 religions that legals and named in the Identity card. That is Moslem, Christian, Katolik, Budism, Hindi, and Kong Hu Cu. Moslem is the majority and obviously, more than 50% civilization is a Moslem that made Indonesia is the largest Moslem civilization in the word. Its provide with the fact as Indonesia in the 3rd rank of the huge-civilization country. So, go ok the topic, what is the origin of tolerance in Moslem prespective ?
Throwback in the earlier Century when the Most Holy-Man Nabi Muhammad SAW, lived and become a leader in Arabic Island, that was the real tolerance started. Nabi Muhammad and his follower lived next to Yudasm and every region respect each other, lived in peace and also mind their own bussiness.
Before Islam carry out and known to deploy all around Arabic Island, Romawi was a dictators and intolerance govermental arragement. Its provides by evidence that Cordoba, a small district in a Spain, no one known Isalm as a heritage of their local wisdom, whereas the Moslem scientist was come from Cordoba, and just because of the dictator governmental arrangement if Romawi, in that time, all civilization should mark up as a Christian (Nasrani). And prohibited to choose other religion.
So that above was a mind-blow, Islam was a very tolerance religion because our Prophet Muhammad SAW taught us how become tolerance in Islam. We give others their freedom to pray withe their own way, without merge with ours. So ? You can make your own conclusion.
Good night

Everyone know that 'life is choice', so we lived we'll have make a choice in anyway or anytime. So , as a 20th age human being im still confused which one choice that i would be choose , which one that better than others . Somehow i cried not because i felt my choice was wrong , it because i really didn't would choice that i should chosen. The biggest dilema was , when your ego want you , "me-centris' but you know and admit that it was wrong , or ' good for yourself but worse for other". Or you chose the wise choice , that good for everyone . This choice sometime. 😢😢😢😢😢
Recently, was booming a YouTube video with the title SEXY KILLER and I'm sure that almost all of you have been seeing it. The video duration more than an hour, but it worth because of the quality of those film documentary very epic and maticulous.
So many perspectives on how to represent the main-value that will deliver, but I just want to argue my insights into that video. Everyone needs the energy to live our life and of course, the video showing us about how human are utterely dependent on electricity. How to esteblish and create electricity is to build a power plant. Coal ( main discussion in the video) is the cheapest alternative that we can get through it. The natural resources that well-provide by universe that consist if 2 types they are renewable resource and un-renewable reaources. Coal was un-renewable resources so that means that someday the source of energy if we just depend on it, soon as possible well be depleted. The coal will be out of stock. Besides the enviromental issues that causing by coal, social issues also complicated. The lump of coal get from mining possessed that caused so many problems of civilization. We know that there are governance that has invoked the regulation how to operad coal mining. The process to rearrange those regulation need time to observation- testing-examination until announced, and of course, that regulation never intend to make no one feel damnify.
There was a quote from someone that i ever knew "Good Thing happened if you meet stranger😃" And this evening i proved thus sentence. I've friend from my collage , he picked same major with me in campus , now we took 3 same subject and classmate. I just started made random conversation with him. I started to complain all about my day , my mood and other . It was surprisesng when he gave me many advises. He said that " you should release and control your ego" first i disagree with him . Im sure that im good manage my emotion while ego , and then he show me some example about what i've done and that can change my thought and i re-thought i admitted im bad in control my ego . Its very nice sharing with him moreover we not too close each other Made me fight to reach my future, my big dream , my life plan Thank bro ,😃
Now , this year i turn to 21th year old. But today my best enemy officially got 22th in her life .yeah i think that she was be my enemy since 10 year ago . “Menulis adalah perjalanan niat”
—Taufik Aulia, kreator konten
Sebabnya karena aku masih ngejar likes and comments (and followers!).
Kurang apa lagi coba? Fokus dulu supaya tulisan kita nggak bikin Allah murka.
Salam literasi, hehe.
