Lack of notification likely related to that reblog not showing on the comments reblog filter.

alright nerds i need your help getting this piece of shit (affectionate) talking with my other devices

there's an expansion bay for a cd/floppy drive but I have the secondary hard drive adapter instead. Of course it doesn't have any form of radio. My only way in is the rear I/O.

Alright Nerds I Need Your Help Getting This Piece Of Shit (affectionate) Talking With My Other Devices

From left to right / top to bottom and in poor image quality:

RJ11 (I have working 2009 laptop with an RJ11 port, and a landline phone system)

Infrared (no compatible hardware)

USB: The drivers aren't installed. I have them in an exe and it's the file i'm trying to send.

Audio mic/headphones/in

Parallel port (i have a 2008 desktop pc with a parallel port but it might be dead, i'll have to check)

What I assume is a proprietary docking station connector

PS/2

VGA

The PC runs windows 98 SE, and it looks like it also has MS-DOS (sorry if i'm saying something stupid, i'm younger than this computer). Other than python 2.3 and winzip, it doesn't look like it has any third-party utility software.

I tried adding a file straight to the hard drive but the connector on the hard drive isn't compatible with my IDE adapter, even though they look very similar (the pins on the HDD are slightly closer together).

Can't open the bios setup because you need a cd for that

my crazy idea is sending the file as audio. I think windows 98 ships with some kind of audio recording software. I can use my modern pc to play the file as audio. The hard part is the trip back. i guess i could use python to read the audio data and convert it back to a file

The two realistic solutions are RJ11 and parallel, but I have no idea how they work or how to use them

Someone who knows more than me about old computers please help

The vanilla extract I see here may be tolerated. The baking soda is in excess, and likely is the salt.

You just have to understand you’re on the Internet. You’re literally on Tumblr dot com. This is not a random sample of the US population. You are not a one-person think tank. Polls on here are only useful if you are trying to create a recipe for a cake primarily made of vanilla extract.

The reason for Arab-Americans to vote Democrat is that activists that aren't particularly attached to a particular issue tend to distribute between the issues they know are serious.

Hence, since Democrats produce a lower variety and average intensity of issues, their victory in the election would spread more activists across less causes, thereby giving you more folk on your side.

Especially since this isn't one of the issues I expect people to forget after a Democratic victory by now...

So What Happens When You Can't Extract More From Either And They're Both Equally Likely To Kill You And

So what happens when you can't extract more from either and they're both equally likely to kill you and your families? Bc that's what Arab-Americans are looking at right now. The deaths of their direct family members across the pond, and both a current and two potential future administrations that do not care about them or their lives. So what do you say to them to convince them? You promise them nothing, tell them that their lives are worth nothing, and are mad they're giving that energy back to you. Enraged that they don't entertain your entitlement.

And stop tossing the word "leftist" up when you're clearly not one.

Having of seen the comment about 52% from more neutral sources, that sounds unreasonable based on the light pollution in Pyongyang, assuming that 100% of China's people have electricity.

Although it is to my awareness that at the least, environmentalism is a historical socialist secondary goal, so it would make sense that the socialist/communist countries would have less light pollution, so a light pollution comparison of NK vs SK is simply going to be wrong.

However, it is fair to compare NK and China. Obviously Wikipedia's main 2020 Dandong stats don't directly compare to Pyongyang's 2008 stats. However, a 2005 Dandong stat is seen on Wikipedia too; from this, I find it reasonable to conclude that Pyongyang is thrice as large as Dandong. Now, if I read the Wikipedia page right, Dandong is Both of those slightly larger than Pyongyang lights near the coast on North Korea's north-west border.

Therefore, I conclude that, if anything, the CIA's 26% statement is likely an overestimate; it's more likely something just under 16%, instead. Assuming China's population all has electricity, of course.

While solid evidence for your survivability, it does not evidence running speed. You may, perhaps, be some sort of stable geographical feature, such as a valley or a mountain.

why didn't they just leave pompeii when the volcano erupted? were they stupid?

... Instinctively, absolute terror makes the most sense to me, yet when I try to think this through logically, I can think of normal reasons for the first two, but not for absolute terror. This confuses me.

'there is no clock here', spoken in a variety of tones and affects; relief, calm, absolute terror

As you know, you can make writers lives easier by doing unnecessary exposition scenes in real life, thereby making them realistic.
