Chuuya is the only man alive who could go toe-to-toe with a god, crack the earth in half, and still lose a verbal fight with Dazai.
Every time he breathes, Dazai’s ghost voice whispers ‘you’re 5’3” and your blood pressure is rising.’
The man can’t win.
Dazai is cruel. Dazai is abusive. In some way Dazai haven't changed and won't change. Dazai is manipulative. Dazai is dangerous. Many of Dazai's actions are disgusting. His actions could be perceived as inhumane. But Dazai is a human being.
It's always about being human. In your own eyes. In the eyes of others.
Dazai doesn't consider himself non-human because of his cruel actions. It's nothing about his morals. After all, Dazai had dealt with so many cruel people. He knows evil is human. He thinks he's lacking something. Something that makes others move forward. A purpose in life. Isn't he just lost?
Dazai's character is portrayed as infallible but it's not truth. To make mistakes is the most human thing you can think of (next to peeing in the shower). His mistake is that he can't tell he already has meaning in his life: working for ADA, protecting his friends, protecting the world.
"Anything I would never want to lose is always lost. It is a given that everything that is worth wanting will be lost the moment I obtain it. There’s nothing worth pursuing at the cost of prolonging a life of suffering." – he's always ready to leave. Dazai tries not to get attached. He's always ready to lose everything. Doesn't it make him just a passive observer in his own life? From a manga reader's perspective, we know he has significance to the story but Dazai sees himself as nothing. He's able to catch the moment only when it's already a memory. Dazai may think of himself non-human because he only lives his life halfway. He plays chess – he moves the pieces but does not appear on the board.
So even if you're a genius, still you're nothing more than a sinfully stupid and cruel human being.
I feel like the main reason Francis called Richard when anxious and sabotaged is because after he sees that hot chaotic though incredibly mundane man the only intrusive thought left in his mind is how much he wants to fuck him on the backseat
You know you’re fucked up when Regulus Black is your comfort character
The Shippuden Naruto-Sasuke reunion gets funnier the more you get to know Sasuke.
" I didn't kill you on a whim, I'll kill you now though"- This boy has a Superman level no-kill code that he adheres to with too much conviction. He's a ninja. He was raised to kill, and no one would blame him if he did. Yet his only aim is Itachi.
Jumping down the ravine to hold Naruto- We see later on he doesn't like people touching him. He's basically screamed it in people's faces & is not shy about telling people to move it. He doesn't seek out physical touch either & he has a million long-range attacks.
He jumped down because he wanted to hold Naruto. That's it. He has never gotten this close to anyone without a practical reason & Sasuke was much faster than Naruto. He did that side-hug and whispered in his ear for no reason other than he wanted to be close.
Getting distracted during the fight- he has planned out step-by-step every fight he's entered with a bunch of failsafes. He's constantly thinking seven steps ahead. He was utterly distracted by Naruto. That's IT. Naruto was the only factor in these fights that got him off guard
The first episode sets up this reunion like Sasuke has gone too far down a dark path when in reality he knew exactly qhat he wanted, had plans to escape Orochimaru on his own, he ended up taking down THREE big threats and like 20% of the Akatsuki. On his own. That reunion was Sasuke playing a part to convince Orochimaru to leave Naruto alone, to convince himself that he didn't care(though he desperately did), and to make Naruto stay away.
Like most of it was to save himself & Naruto the pain.
He's such a dramatic lil boy
feeling very sane and normal rn
A heart that always understands also gets tired.
