I am super new to the Black Sails Fandom, so I don't know if this has been brought up before, but what if we actually already know John Silvers story and didn't know it.

What if John Silver is actually Jim Hawkins.

This is how we met him.

What if Jim Hawkins origin story is his origin story. He lived and worked at his family's inn, he got to a point in his life where he wanted more and got on the first boat setting sail.

Look at this guy, look at his face, his easy smile. You can hear a whole lot of stories in an inn. You can also be keen on making up stories to keep from being bored. It's obvious that John was adept at taking in information and inserting himself into the narrative. If he is actually Jim Hawkins, he has been doing it most of his life.

Look at him, he is used to sneaking around corners and eavesdropping and stuff.

What if he wrote Treasure Island later in life as a why to finally tell his story, since he couldn't bring himself to reveal his truth in his pirate heyday?

This is supposed to be educational for all of us. So, in case any of you aren’t taking this seriously still…” He eyes traveled to his side where two guards holding something lifeless by either arm, walking towards Wen Chao and the teens following his gaze. Nie Huaisang stiffened next to him. Jiang Wanyin screamed his brother’s name. Jin Zixuan’s inhaled sharply. But all Lan Wangji saw was Wei Ying.

Kay's comments: This fic offers some delicious, delicious angst. In which, after Wei Wuxian spent a night in the dungeons during the indoctrination, his "corpse" is dropped in front of the others the next day to make a point and to show them that actions have dire consequences. Wei Wuxian isn't dead of course and instead scheming with Wen Qing and Wen Ning and only pretending to be dead, but still, his little stint definitely inspires some confessions! Also, Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng are forced to be roommates while they still think that Wei Wuxian is dead and well. Hopeful ending because this story kick-starts a canon-divergent timeline that might end up being better than canon!

No. Of course not, how could he – how dare he? “No,” Lan Wangji snarled.
