reasons to write fanfiction (I'll start):

share a cool scene that popped into your head

evoke a particular emotion the canon makes you feel

song made you think of a character or idea from canon

make people feel the same way about a character you do

make dolls kiss for fun

explore ideas the canon hints at but doesn't do anything with

traumatize characters and make them suffer

coddle characters and let them rest

had an insane idea for a crack ship and now everyone needs to know

the author of the canon was wrong and must be fixed

use familiar characters to explore your own ideas and plotlines

canon is too short and you need to wallow in the universe of the story

Making a "don't kill yourself" post for the disabled people. You are needed and valued. You deserve to live. Your needs deserve to be met. You deserve to take up space and have your voices heard. Getting healthcare is so difficult, and we deserve better. We will not be silenced.

Days like today are when I'm really grateful for my cat. Migraines suck no matter how "mild" they might be, and she knew something was wrong. So instead of her usual shenanigans, she curled up by my legs for about an hour while I rested. She wasn't even terribly perturbed by my fidgeting or shifting. These are the moments I'll try to remember when she's being a shithead later.

Wow, do you ever go onto tumblr every day but completely forget to post about the new things you're crocheting at any point? Because I do. I've been working on a bunch of stuff since the last time I was active on this tumblr! Sometimes I remember to post about it on Instagram and sometimes I don't, but tumblr is way cooler than Instagram anyway - so I'm going to try to remember to post here as well!

This is a cute lil chicken pattern that's available free over at 53stitches.com! I signed up for a lot of conventions this year, the next one is Gold Coast Supanova on April 12th & 13th - these little birbs have been so popular, and I'm glad because they are heckin' fun to make.

I made 12 designs in all (+ an extra highly requested Cockatiel I still need to write up) and I'm trying to add all of my old patterns to the website for free over the next few months, so keep an eye out! Plus making youtube content! So much going on, and yet I don't want to blab about it on social media as per usual 😂

sHAPES AND COLORS

Been trying to do some more varied face/body shapes (I've been falling back into old habits recently blehhh) and wanted to mess around with Verity's party. Also some Lapis/Laz for morale. Have I mentioned here that we know Larry's real name now?? I forget lmao

I do this "bashing out the silhouette" thing in digital art a lot for poses but never liked doing it in my sketchbooks- something about the highlighters I like to sketch with turning out patchy and disagreeing with the paper texture. But now I've got some brush markers that don't bleed thru the paper and I'm having fuuuuuun <3

(I actually have a bigger set of these markers coming in the mail tomorrow so I'm hoping some lighter colors will be fun to mess with :>)
