Graveyards?? So Pretty.

A message to the younger members of the community, and those who doubt there place in it:

Beings don't care.

I went to a therian meet up over anthro northwest. And it was NOTHING like the current online spaces, especially all the discourse.

There was no fighting. It was beautiful. Beings were freely using whatever labels they wanted, no one cared "why" someone identified as something, mental, spiritual, physical. Everyone was like "Hey, cool!".

Older folks talked about their time in the community while the younger ones did quads. People howled, played with squeak toys. No one cared. And most importantly, everyone agreed the infighting was pointless.

You WILL be accepted irl. This discourse doesn't matter. You are going to find your beings, and none of these online pissing contests mean anything once you meet others off the screen.

It's a beautiful place out there.

creature habits i display with my friends that probably give my nonhumanity away but that's okay because my friends are cool:   ⭒ randomly shaking my head like a dog to stim / correct my hair   ⭒ stretching my arms out in front of me ( bonus points if i'm stretching them out on a table or spreading my fingers out ) when i yawn and then shaking my head afterwards   ⭒ randomly shaking my shoulder-blades ( to stretch / stim my wings ragjefs )   ⭒ play biting at my friends e.g. biting at their finger when they point at me   ⭒ hugs = NO >:O / head pats = YES PLEASE FEHVBF :3   ⭒ tilting my head sideways when something confuses me   ⭒ going non-verbal when upset, but still making soft noises like whines and purrs   ⭒ humming when hugging my friends to imitate purring   ⭒ headbutts and rubbing my face on friends as a show of affection   ⭒ referring to myself as "the friendship group therapy animal" and "the family dog"   ⭒ silently resting my head on my friends + staring up at them worriedly when they are sad   ⭒ raptor posture and tip-toe walking when happy or energetic   ⭒ itching my ears and neck with a hand motion similar to a dog's back leg motion when doing the same   ⭒ smiling with teeth is bad because it's a threat to others >:O

It makes me happy when they listen

i love characters who do the “i worship the myth i make of you” and in turn dehumanize and get wrong the object of their devotion and love. yes project a thing that does not exist onto a pedestal and kneel at it like it is your altar. this will surely not blow up in both of your faces eventually
