Matrix fic

I've been writing a fic slowly, but today I just wanted to put up some quick stream of consciousness writing.

VERY SHORT Matrix fic below the cut.

There’s seven dials, seventeen floors. Numbers looping in and in and in.

There’s a flash of gun metal in the dark, swung wide, heavy- it must be- you’ve held a gun before.

There’s nineteen thousand reasons in your brain, nineteen thousand of them crammed right in there and you’re drowning in reasons.

Drowning in everything being a fucking need.

You’re running because you’re always running. Twenty-three numbers on the dials, you know it’s wrong, but it doesn’t matter here.

This agent, the one behind you, is made of teeth. You know he is, you’ve seen him grin, shark-sharp and aching for the kill. He’s insatiable, but never hungry.

That’s another need of yours- you’re always hungry. If you could count off every one of the things you are always you would have bitten your fingers to the knuckle.

You wonder if he was an agent when you were a child; if you had passed these ghosts, those teeth, this death, a thousand times on your way to play in the school yard with your friends.

There’s no love here.

He means to kill you, you mean to not be killed.

You imagine what it would be like to talk to him, and then the nineteen thousand reasons start again like hands pulling you underneath the floorboards.

Your hand touches the phone, black chunky plastic, metallic scratching on the other end.

And you think you hear a gunshot.

And you think you have been shot.

You wake up in your bunk, in the dark, a thousand miles away and not plugged in.

You watch the bulb on the ceiling swinging in rhythm with your heart, and you wonder what number it’s on.

Writing a matrix fic on this seems like such an interesting concept.. Anyone got any ideas?

Yes, it is indeed that fic- The suspense is killing me because I believe the author does have much of it drafted already

Whatever you might think of it, I find your writing really nice, even through that little minific! I'm thinking of keeping a Thesaurus open as I write, just to refer to it for better, more creative wording. While I have good vocab, but when I'm writing I forget everything.

That might help, as while my writing is good when I read other fics I feel like it is too direct, lacking in the poetic aspect of it all which would work well with Matrix related fics. I do have some ideas for Smith, brought on by that Morpheus interrogation scene. Writing torture would be such a good playground for poetry~ That, and I like seeing characters suffer. 💀

Does anyone here write for the matrix trilogy? It's painful falling for agent Smith then finding barely anything for him... 😭

To be honest, I might just start writing fics on my own. Or even taking requests, but a lot of the time I feel like my writing isn't poetic enough even if I don't make spelling errors or anything like that. Of course, only by practice will I get over that little hurdle- Perhaps it's just anxiety. I'll likely start using the side blog I made ages ago for FF and icon requests again in April, because that's the only way I can remedy the fanfic scarcity for other readers that might want more Smith stuff

(I actually found both of your blogs by going to Tumblr in desperation and looking through the #hitmanrezazaydan tag- Really glad I did. Hitman has fine men and women but criminally low fics for them ;-;)

Ahhh I didn't expect the asks to be answered, really excited for the next part! I've also read @whumping-newbie's story, it's just as amazing. As the internet criminally lacks Zaydan content, these are rare gems. >.<

I happened to stumble upon your blog while looking for Zaydan fanfics- Thank you for writing for him! I'm curious when you'll continue, though.

Oh, thank you so much! I had never expected someone to stumble upon my blog for this! I'm very honoured.

So I've posted three parts to that story and just now realized the link for the third wasn't there, so that's fixed now, [here] are all three parts linked.

But, more importantly - I mostly just wrote Tara in this, my advisor and the one penning Zaydan was the wonderful @whumping-newbie, who is the Zaydan fan and the one making him so enjoyable! My pieces are basically just da fiction for her story, "Malia's story". I linked it from the masterpost and will try to add a working link here.

So I hope you've checked that one out already, and if not, I recommend you do!
