Alright a conversation with my friend has led us to a dilemma so:

uggg i was so excited to watch the second episode of moon knight today but i havent been able to sit still focusing on anything for longer than five minutes and im actually upset about this

man i just wanted to watch it but nooooo attention span went out the freaking window

moving home to find out that my brother has fallen into the classic white boy in high school joins jrotc and boyscouts and suddenly starts making ableist and nazi like comments was not on my bucket list this year

like damn i just got screamed at anf told i was overreacting for trying to explain why he shouldnt be a nazi apologist

some days my stomach simply does not stomach

so here i am hungry but unable to even swallow solids without getting sick

so what do i do? make smoothie soup and a cup of lemon tea caus i know i need sustenance and id rather stick to just liquids than keep getting sick tonight

Something I really loved about episode two of Moon Knight was that when Arthur called Steven broken, he immediately defended himself and said "I'm not broken, I just need some help". Really loved that little message Marvel threw in that people with mental illnesses are not broken and they just need help.

It’s like talking about alters as “whole people” makes DID more palatable for others somehow.  If they can view us as just this quirky cast of characters who happen to share a body then it’s less sad, or maybe even less disturbing. They can reframe it into something that might even sound fun or beneficial to them, like “3 friends for the price of 1!” 

I’m starting to think that viewing us as one whole traumatized person with many dissociated parts is just too depressing and too “weird” for a lot of people. It’s harder for them to wrap their heads around. They can’t grasp the way we are both disconnected from each other and still a part of each other. They can’t make sense of the way we overlap and blend together. We don’t fit into neat little boxes. We aren’t a straight forward cast of characters.
