Tetro Danganronpa Pink spoilers . . . The people who say Watari's motives and plan in CH4 mischaracterized her are so loud and wrong I seriously can't fathom how a good portion of the fanbase (from my understanding) are saying this is the case. Initially I wrote a whole ass essay on why this isn't the case and how personally her representation about people going through depression / suicidal thoughts was handled very realistically, but that wasn't worth my energy so TLDR:

Just because Nishi acted "naïve" and "carefree" doesn't equal that she wasn't going through her internal battles. There's more to digest from her character rather than what's obviously spoonfed to you on the videos. Her interview alone shows the amount of work she had to go through in her life (also worth to add the post CH3 finale & confession game) that put her under so much stress.
