first of all thank you so much for coming to tumblr, i love seeing ur art on my dash‘‘‘ its such a treat!!!

secondly, I am curious about the process of creating your artwork? do you have a finished piece in your mind and work towards that

or does the piece just develop while you’re drawing?

Thank you for the compliment and thanks for asking!! I’m still exploring in terms of my processes, but I tend to decide almost everything in the rough draft/sketching!

I first do “rough-sketching party”, where I doodle as many ideas as possible:

Then, I pick an idea, and refine them. Often creating multiple versions, with different compositions and different color schemes(not for this one though.) These are WIPS of pieces I’m eventually going to work on:

I kinda often draw too much for my rough drafts, but rough drafts is where I can play around with the concepts/colors/compositions the most, so I don’t feel too regretful in spending a lot of time in this phase. For an illustrator perspective, I see that this is very inefficient, so eventually I hope I find a way to make it faster. But for now, this works best for me to create works that I am satisfied with. With that said, I sometimes make pieces on the go, with only deciding what the main subject is. I might talk about those in the future when I post them. Again, thanks for asking!:)

Sure!! I'll talk about them more in detail when I post my individual works, but what influenced my art direction is Pokémon/Kirby/Dark Souls/Tim Burton(even though I was scared of them when I was a kid and became too scared to watch them again. But the fear probably made the influence engraved in my brain) Then, what I thought would be important was to make what I like(my taste) as clear to me as possible. I'm trying to do this through looking through lots of works on social media/museums/other mediums, doing lots of doodles, and occasionally making works where I set no time limits to create something that I like as much as possible. I feel like anyone's work will be unique if they have the clearest understanding of what they like, exactly down to nanometers. Hope the answer was good, thanks for asking!

Deep Sea

Process below(with some explanation(^-^))

For this piece I chose a more whimsical process where all I decided was the placement of the character and some basic compositions, without having anything in mind about what other objects I’m going draw, and what color I’m going to choose. I decided them as I blocked in more random shapes and seeing what they look like, eventually landing on a deep sea theme. It took way too much time but it’s a fun process and allowed me to use composition/colors that I normally wouldn’t use.
