At some point, what I really want in BSD is for Atsushi to fight Chuuya. Like, idk the reason, maybe to settle an issue between the mafia and the agency, instead of a war they pick a fighter.

Atsushi just expects it to be Akutagawa, because that's who he's always fighting but then Chuuya shows up. Because he's the mafia's top fighter, of course they're gonna choose him. I want everyone worried over Atsushi, I want conflicted Dazai trying to stop it happening.

But the fight goes ahead. You can tell at first Chuuya is toying with Atsushi, testing the waters, trying to get him to take the fight seriously, because Atsushi has a habit of holding back. Chuuya gets what he wants, he says something that gets under Atsushi's skin, so the kid goes at him full force. Everyone's waiting to see a squashed tiger.

Except Atsushi used his claws. His claws that cut through any ability, including Chuuya's seemingly invincible shield of gravity. And Chuuya's stood there, with four deep gashes going from his shoulder, down and across his torso

And he's grinning like a mad man.

Because, finally, he's got a fight he as to try in, an opponent who not only can stand up to his ability but slice right through it. He's got to think, he's got to use his skills outside of his ability and Chuuya's ecstatic.

Chuuya still wins the fight, but that means the conflicts over now. So he holds out his hand and helps Atsushi up. He says he fought well, has a good teacher but he's got a long way to go. And to Atsushi's absolute horror, Chuuya gives him the highest praise he has, "Can't wait for the next one."

Now Atsushi has to deal with two mafia men regularly jumping out at him and demanding a fight. But where Akutagawa's demands sound like death threats, Chuuya's have the energy of a very excited dog trying to force you to play fetch with it.

So I got a question from this when they go and walk around will they teleport back to where the episode is taking place when gl unpauses the episode?

Another question, I don't know if this was mentioned before or not, but what would happen if GL is watching the anime and they paused the episode, what would happen to the characters?

Or what if they're reading the manga/light novels and they stop at a page to go do something, what would happen?

Would they just be still or doing something else until GL comes back?

It wasn't mentioned before.

If GL/Reader paused the anime or stopped reading, BSD Characters will stop feeling their presence. They won't froze and will be able to do something else, before Reader returned.

For example, if Reader read up to Fukuzawa's and Ranpo's lunch scene from Untold Origin novel and then decided to do something else, Fukuzawa and Ranpo will be able to leave the café and go for a walk, until Reader returned.

The only reason HS is available was because Aya pulled it out of Bram.

Why did Aya pull it out of Bram? - She wanted to help ADA, found out about Fukuchi’s plans and “became friends” with Bram.

How did Aya know about Bram and Fukuchi's plans? - She followed Jouno after reading his note.

How did Aya get the note? - By chance, she ran into Jouno at the airport. And Jouno had already begun to suspect Fukuchi.

What was Aya doing at the airport? - Her father forgot something there and asked Aya to pick it up.

This means that the only reason why HS was “cleared” of Bram was a series of accidents.

What would have happened if Aya had not come to the airport?

Fyodor made it from France to Yokohama (by helicopter) - Ended up next to the corpse/dying Fukuchi - Got Amegozen, Bram on HS - Stabbed Fukuchi with Amegozen. - And...

And what? Slashed Fukuchi's neck (with HS weighted by Bram's head)? Or would Fyodor try to impale Fukuchi on Bram's head and drive HS deeper and deeper until Bram ends and the blade begins?

Bram, who earlier asked you to read new chapters of BSD together with him (it was strange, but Bram wanted to see, if new characters has appeared and if they should prepare rooms for newcomers, didn't know what to say. He wasn't expecting, that you will start ranting. Bram raised an eyebrow.

You nodded, practically lunged forward Bram and pulled him into the tight hug.

"Yes, please!"

You two stay silent for a few moments. Then you spoke up.

AUTHOR'S NOTES: and so begins side b. this one will not be as light as badlands HAHA but i still had a lot of fun writing it. it was tough, this is primarily in dazai's pov to reflect how badlands was primarily reader's, but i think it came out well. shout out to éliane for helping me with the banner when i was weeping because i had no good ideas as to how to relate it to the unreal unearth album </3 so she went out of her way to add the lil daisies and mimic the handwriting on the font </3 she is truly an angel.

GENERAL WARNINGS: beast au compliant, dazai is a lot more unhinged here - more possessive and deranged thoughts than badlands!dazai, sometimes they come very abruptly so can a bit jarring (PERSONALLY i think they're tame, but we all have our own judgments on that so i figure i'll just be generous with warnings to be safe)

SUMMARY: all of dazai's carefully calculated plans come to an abrupt halt when you run into him at a club. he thinks fate is a funny thing, that despite all of his desperate attempts to stay away from you, it still leads you right to him. one night, he decides, is all he'll allow. one night of indulgence, and then things will go back to how they were. that's how it has to be to keep you safe.

INSTALLMENT TWO: FIRST LIGHT (coming: april 12th!)

SUMMARY: dazai severely overestimated his self-control. it takes approximately six days and thirteen hours for him to break, seeking you out again. when he does, he knows that nothing will ever be the same.

INSTALLMENT THREE: TO SOMEONE FROM A WARM CLIMATE (coming: april 19th!)

SUMMARY: you're with him. you're actually with him. everything all of the other dazais have got to experience, he now can too. in his exhilaration, he almost forgets about the threats lurking on the horizon. until you slap him in the face with it, that is.

INSTALLMENT FOUR: I, CARRION (coming: april 26th!)

SUMMARY: the day of the event has arrived and dazai is second guessing everything, but it's too late for him to back out now.

INSTALLMENT FIVE: ICARIAN (coming: may 3rd!)

SUMMARY: dazai had known he was flying too close to the sun, he should have stopped himself while he still had the chance.
