Once again with the “am I a bird?” thoughts. I just remembered when I was little wanting to lay down on Easter eggs and fantasize about them hatching. I always felt sad I would never really be able to hatch eggs of my own. I also remember pretending they were bird or dragon eggs. Am I a dragon???

incredibly rude that I am currently physically incapable of doing that poof-up-and-ruffle-feathers things. i think that would fix me. just one full-body feather wiggle.

If i had wings i would WRAP THEM around my FRIENDS. REAL TIGHT btw.

This is just a brief introduction post because oh man I have a lot of thoughts on this subject and it is taking a while to organize them concisely.

I love drawing wings on people but the anatomy sure can be frustrating. Where do the arms go so they're not in the way of the wings? Where is the best placement for the wings? How would that skeleton and musculature look? Maybe not necessarily questions everyone asks, but I sure do. Winged people often eend up looking a bit photoshopped, because it's easier to draw a person and then draw wings and not worry too much about how they connect.

But if you want to go into more detail with a realistic appearance, my next series of posts should help. I will discuss how I've modified the skeleton and muscles, as well as some basic explanations on feather structure.

I'm just saying that if my wings were not just phantom limbs I would shield all my catkins friends of the rain. I would provide shade in the hot summer for those who are more of a nocturnal type. I would keep my call blooded folks warm. And to all my human friends I would do the same if you ever need it. To all that are learning to fly I would give tips and to those too afraid of the open sky I would take time to tell you stories about the clouds because I once was scared to fly too.

But to everyone regardless of kin or type or experience I you all a great day!
