One of the most dangerous things in the world is not being able to say no to people because you don't want to upset them or dissapoint them. This will completely ruin your life in every way possible, at work, in your private life, your sex life and your friendships. It's a way of removing your own consent in your own decisions and go against your wishes, it is always a crime against yourself. Let yourself have a say. Upsetting people is better than traumatizing yourself.
bunch of dandadan stuff i've drawn/pixeled lately! figured i'd compile it all in one post rather than posting all of them separate lmao
tis the season to remember Medjed aka The Smiter, an invisible egyptian deity with laser eyes and nonbinary swagger:
rotating them gently in my mind as they do a spiffy little dance number
Since it's OCD awareness month, I want to bring up the way a special interest (meant to distract from real life and other things) can be negatively affected by OCD.
I've had intrusive thoughts before that I'm a hypocrite for enjoying a character because if I interacted with someone like that character irl I'd probably feel nervous around them, not get along with them, or not like them. I've had intrusive thoughts that whatever my current media interest is makes me a bad person (usually for just enjoying a harmless ship). I know I've done a ton of checking around these topics, trying to argue with myself that "no, here's proof this ship isn't abusive or bad. Or here's proof I could get along with this character if I knew them irl."
It probably sounds silly, but OCD can be extremely ridiculous in what it fixates on, and yet it's still incredibly annoying and painful for the person dealing with the intrusive thoughts. Its the worst when your brain gets stuck endlessly looping on something because you need to know for sure what you enjoy is morally sound or that you're not a hypocrite, etc.
I'm havent had a full autism test but my therapist and I suspect I am on the spectrum and therefore I think the way your special interest can be impacted by OCD intrusive thoughts (if you are both autistic and have OCD) should be something mental health professionals study more.
All useful things turn to shit when you privatize them.
i genuinely think ocd is incredibly underdiagnosed bc i will see people posting what are obvious rituals, compulsions, intrusive thoughts, spiralling, hyper morality, etc and its like Have You Considered This Might Be An Issue
I bought these little ghosts and I can't stop thinking about them 😂
**Update for the people asking I bought these HERE
