This is Mirach’s Ghost! 👻👻👻
This spooky image has 2 beautiful objects of interest: Mirach’s Ghost (the fuzzy galaxy on the top right) and Mirach (the bright red giant star in the center). The star is a mere 200 light years away while the galaxy is at a whopping 10 million light years away! 🎃🎃🎃

This is the Trifid Nebula! 💞💞💞
This nebula’s unique name comes from the 3 dark bands of dust that traverse its center. Despite the nebula itself holding many massive stars, it is no longer undergoing star formation because these highly radiative stars have blown a lot of the dust away! 💫💫💫

This is the Waxing Gibbous Moon! 🌔🌔🌔
Yesterday, October 16th, was International Observe the Moon Night, which meant that Slooh’s telescopes were pointed at the beautiful Moon! Check out more resources to celebrate this exciting day here: https://www.space.com/international-observe-the-moon-night-2021 🤩🤩🤩

One of my best shots of this stunning galaxy! Please follow my astrophotography tumblr (mystarypi-astronomy.tumblr.com) for similar astrophotos like these!
This is the Silver Coin Galaxy! 💸💸💸
This is one of the brightest and dustiest galaxies known to Earth. With so much dust, star formation is aggressive in this galaxy and thus, it is classified as a starbust galaxy! ✨✨✨
Many scientists think that the star formation may have also been caused by the Silver Coin Galaxy’s collision with a dwarf galaxy billions of years ago! 🌌🌌🌌

despite everything, you still love madoka magica (happy 10th anniversary!!)
Join us for a special Star Party Live on Sunday, November 29th at 12:00 pm EST!
The Slooh Ambassadors (which includes me) have been working on this Women are From Venus star party that hopes to encourage women to participate in astronomy!
I will be presenting my research during the event so please consider joining! There will also be other talks made by other Slooh women who are passionate about space.
All you need to do is to make a free account at Slooh.com and then watch the star party on the website! Please let me know if you have any questions and I hope you can attend 😆😆😆
This is the Eta Carinae Nebula! ♥✨🔥
The Eta Carinae nebula is one of the largest diffuse nebulae in our night sky, being almost 4 times larger than the Orion Nebula. The picture above only is a small part of the Eta Carinae Nebula - this section is called the Keyhole Nebula and it has a lot of dark gas and its shape has changed drastically due to nearby ionizing radiation! 🔑✨🔑✨🔑✨

This is the Statue of Liberty Nebula! 🗽🗽🗽 (I guess to celebrate the inauguration!)
The dramatic shapes of the nebula are created by young, hot stars that were newly formed through this nebula. Most of the star formation takes place in the dark filaments in this region and it is located just a few thousand light years away from the famous Eta Carinae Nebula (also a prolific star forming region)! ✨✨✨
