and now I have a new HC. Not a super real one, more of a crack one, but hear me out.
the Slugterra fandom wiki. Far better than the "official" one, but still, has its flaws. Most info is old, some pages have very little/wrong info, it doesn't make clear where the info comes from (the show vs the games), and the biggest pages come from the content regarding the first ten episodes of the show.
now, idk who the editors are irl. But hey, you know what's an in-universe explanation?!?
ELI SHANE IS THE MAIN EDITOR.
no, really. He had more down-time right at the beginning of the show. He was fascinated w Slugterra and maybe he thought writing everything he learned down somewhere would help him remember it all. But the plot kicked in and he had less time, so now most pages are short and to the point - and only written in Eli's perspective, not some historian, so some stuff is misleading or wrong. And he mainly used it before A Distant Shore - afterwards, he could just ask his friends if he forgot something. But it's still fun to update, so for anything big enough, he added a little bit to the archive. Eli Shane is the editor, of course he is!!!!! It makes SENSE!
okay, now w this headcanon, it's time to reread Eli's page, something tells me this is gonna be fun
Slugterra: a cautionary tale on why queer people need to stay friends with their ex's
I read every single page of the 99 caverns wiki for slugterra and all their side pages. And then, the known eastern caverns pages. I made a master document to keep track of 1)what has canonically happened there, 2)what the place is like, 3) what resources it has, 4) what things happened there that we can infer from other information, and 5) where it is on the map because THERES NO CANONICAL MAP.
speaking of which, I really need to make the map. most of it will be unimportant, but sometimes, it's the journey that matters most. I got new fic ideas from some of the stuff.
memes are fun and relatable and all that, but don't let them discourage you. all of that stuff that doesn't make it into the final product is part of how the final product gets made
I REALLY BECAME A MET FAN MUSIC TEACHER AT THE RIGHT TIME IM THRIVING
Kodai Senga gets his own song! "Ghost Fork" by Yusuke feat. Alisa.
my husband doesn't love this the same way he loved "OMG" but i am all here for the multicultural pop experience. honestly, i don't think there could ever be too many songs.
i also think this is going to sound banging on the audio equipment at Citi Field.

THE GREATEST ARCHEOLOGIST OF OUR TIME!!!!
Pronto absolutely sleeps with incense burning. This is important for Pick Your Table Chapter 2. What scents would be his favorite?
Currently, I think he likes Lavendar candles. Would he also like earthly-toned smells? Or maybe he'd like high-class-sounding smell names? any answers yall give ill probably name drop in the fic, thx yall :)
my love is at war
I was rewatching the will Shane part of ROTE and I started thinking about Eli's dialogue when his dad was revealed. He specifically says "Dad, what are you-" and then gets cut off by the Goon. What was he saying there? Momentarily in so much shock he forgot about the goon's control, or didn't care about it, he tried speaking to his dad. And, I think the most likely sentence he went to instinctually in that moment was: "dad, what are you doing?" Which made me think, what was Eli wondering in that moment to ask that? And then it hit me.
for one horrific moment, he genuinely thought it was his dad who meant to point a gun at him. Before the brain kicked in and realized his dad was forced to fight him, his heart leapt to "why is my dad trying to kill me."
that's so damn sad and I'm not okay
