Little snippet of a convo Will Shane and Tom Por are having in the fic(there both like 19 btw)

[for some context, they are watching a duel between two skilled trick shot duelist]

“I noticed, think something like that could be useful in a head to head shoot out?” Will asked. 

“You kidding? misdirection is never not useful Shane,” Tom snorted, “Though, ide say your years off from their level”

“Like you're a better shot!” Will snapped. 

“Compared to those two? No way. But you? It's hardly a competition,” Tom snarked with a smirk, as Will gasped dramatically. 

“And here I thought we were friends!” Will feigned causing Tom to chuckle.

my pet peeve is I think everyone is using "filler" inaccurately.

Fun fact: my friend thought cave trolls didn't exist in the eastern caverns for 6 episodes because she thought Hamengku was a HUMAN because he wasn't the RIGHT SHADE OF BLUE. I love Slugterra.

Going back to Maurice being liked by everyone at Blakk industries, how much you want to bet that when he leaves to run errands for Dr.Blakk the whole place goes nuts without him there? Because I definitely can see that happening.

Yes, absolutely.

Blakk may be the fear factor in keeping everyone in line, but it's Maurice who keeps the entire citadel from blowing up!

On more than one occasion, Maurice has had to calm Blakk down and break up fights.

The man can't take a brake for ten minutes without something going wrong!

And when he leaves to run errands, he has to leave a detailed list behind on what to do in an emergency for the temp guy/gal filling in for however lone he's gone.

The list ranges from 'keeping track of the Ghouls' to 'list of things to try to calm Dr. Blakk down before evaluating the building'

And then, even when he comes back, there is still a fire that needs to be put out.

Maurice loves his job, 10/10 better than what he used to do when Viggo Dare was in charge, but sometimes he needs a brake. Especially from Blakk-

Flute shows up one time in Slugterra and I wanted to learn it lmao

and yes, pronto has the wrong fingerings and is using too much teeth. BUT, he only has 4 fingers so the instrument might just have different fingerings; it probably feels more like a baroque/medieval flute to play, which I admire from this character I otherwise am lukewarm to, since baroque flute takes alot more air and embrochure trickery than the modern metal flute I play here.

yesssss! also keep in mind that, like alot of times they do things in the show, its because 1) the calls are in remote areas that wouldn't be under jurisdiction of a cavern authority, or 2) (the big one) the cavern authorities can't do it/can't be trusted to do it. Think every time w blakk, or the game master, or Munch and CC respectively who scared off all the locals, or Futuria cavern, where quentin possessed new tech they couldn't beat; and even in the later era, and in the east, they fought off general bad actions, but especially those that were evil on their power level (dai fu, emperor, goon, the crystal monster, and so on). they're like, special operations/the rebels against the evil political force lmaoooo

aaaaaaaand, if you ever need a historical reference for how law is kept in this lawless outlands, look up stuff about the american wild west. It think theres alot of great comparisons with how small towns/counties operated in the 19th/early 20th century to how the caverns do in slugterra.

i always wondered, shane gang but a murder mystery? i mean, there is alota crime realistically people could be dying, if not them, who handles that?

This was actually rambled about briefly before, and I'm kinda exploring it is a fic I'm working on rn,

But i think the general idea is that each individual Cavern Authorities deals with it.

If the Shane Gang where to happen on the crime, either the aftermath or as it's activity happening depending on the crime the outcome would be different as to how it's dealt with.

Petty theft? Don't worry! Shane Gang is on it!

Kidnapping? Depending on the situation, they would work with the Cavern Authorities or be on standby if needed, though unlikely.

Murder??? report what they know and offer assistance in dealing with the case until they are no longer needed or have to move on to the next mission. But still keeps tabs on it.

Ultimately though, it's heads or tails, remember the Unbeatable Master was technically murdered by Blakk and he faced no legal repercussions for that.

The Caverns, as my good friend mrros-e would say, is a lawless outlands.

Each settlement has its own rules and regulations that are enforced to various degrees by those in charge.

So the Gang can take down a murderer, but it would ultimately be up to the Caverns legal system and Authorities to deal with the aftermath.

another addition to the will Shane discussion

...I'm gonna be SO clear about this: this is NOT the fault of Eli, obviously. He's a kid and trying his best.

but, when Eli got to Slugterra, he COULD have made it his life's mission to find out what happened to his dad, or find all the secrets that supposedly died with him. He didn't. He took up being the Shane and left the past buried unless it smacked him in the face in some current situation. He never once looked for what his dad left him, didn't even go looking for Will's remaining allies. They all just found him, and he only went searching when he needed to - Redhook, the elementals, etc...

it could also be that Will left some things, as much as he could (tho he still should've told him stuff about his enemies), but Eli wasn't interested in unearthing it. He wanted to move on, make a path for himself and not focus on what happened. That could also influence why he never even looks for his dad - he wants to, but he's been in a "look to the future" mindset for so long it hurts to look back and realize all he's missed out on in being a Shane.

personally, I think he did take the right route. That would have driven him insane, and he knew that. There's something really refreshing about such a possibly vengeful character strictly choosing to be a force for good and stick to current bad guys instead. Just...remember. We got no will/Slugterra answers partially because Eli never truly looked for them. I think he was going to...but in the future, when the current fires are put out. Or after therapy, whichever came first.
