It is confusing to me when people call Taylor Swift a girl…. Or a sweet girl

Or even in her Netflix special when she called herself a good girl

I call myself a grown woman and I’m younger than Taylor Swift by a few years. If anyone called me a “girl” I would feel patronized. I’m a woman, thanks.

I can’t help but to think that Taylor Swift relies a lot on making her image that of a young, sweet girl on purpose.

It’s so strange that people collectively infantilize while praising her for being a “feminist boss” in the music industry. There is surely some dissonance happening here.

I’m sorry but she can’t be a sweet innocent girl and also have songs about masturbating to another man while she’s still in a relationship with someone else from who she’s begging for a wedding ring. She can’t be a good girl and glorify colonialist imagery in her songs.

Handbinding Project: My Immortal by Tara Gilesbie

This really started over a year ago, with a project started in the Renegade Bindery server: people would format different chapters of My Immortal, without knowing what anyone else was doing, and we would put them together into one file. It was agreed upon that everybody would disregard both good design and good taste.

After raiding a Joann’s of materials I thought belonged in Hot Topic circa 2005 (before it just became Think Geek II: We Don’t Light Our Store,) I almost immediately tested positive for covid.
