“what if kids identify with something and it ends up just being a phase-?” good. stop teaching and expecting kids (and adults honestly) to formulate permanent traits and ideas of themselves. everything in life is a phase. that doesn’t make it any less legitimate while you experience it. let people explore themselves and know it’s okay if what you think about yourself changes.
Reblog if you are also not a straight people.
Fan-made concept designs for a batfamily cartoon show mainly centered on Jason and Damian. This is not main universe, it's a happy AU 😊
1. You are responsible for your own media experience.
2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you - but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.
3. Avoiding does not mean policing others.
4. You have no right to tell artists to censor themselves - you may criticize what others do, you may dislike it, that’s fine - but actively asking for censorship when you could easily unfollow or block a person just makes you look incompetent in your use of the internet.
5. Do not give people on tumblr or /any/ website the responsibility for your emotional well-being. Because these people do not even know you so no, you have no right to ask them to take care of you.
"Hiccup the right brained wild dragon boy" Hiccup the grounded, awkward, left-brained human dude who is snappy and sarcastic and quick to the draw, who can stand firm on the ground.
Hiccup, who wants to be rough yet jokes and ribs when others are smelly and violent, when they are messy and wild and pull pranks and roll around like animals, who walks with set shoulders, who isn't smooth, isn't at all like his mother in the way she crouches and crawls and rattles hollow bones with hunched shoulders, who can't connect to dragons so easy- not at her level, in a way that seems nearly supernatural, nonhuman- yet somehow he finds a way to make up for that, joking and speaking to his dragon as if he himself is a man.
Hiccup, who seems more comfortable in the forge than on his own two feet, who had to learn to have empathy for dragons, something which came natural to her.
Hiccup, who needs people too, who is able to connect with them in the same way his mother can't, who wants others the same way she is pushed away from them, both different in completely opposite ways, one more human than anyone just as the other is more dragon than man.
Hiccup is a human first and a dragon rider second which is exactly the kind of trait that allowed him to bond with Toothless in the first place, the same kind of trait that allowed him to make Berk better. Valka is a dragon first and a human second which was what made her such a good member of the dragon sanctuary.
Hiccup makes dragons human while Valka becomes a dragon herself.

i think senor uhl is an excellent example of characters who become likable from alternate perspectives.
like in the majority of trollhunters, he's the terrifying teacher who is harsh and cold towards our protagonists. jim literally has nightmares about senor uhl and it's a running joke that he's practically a robot who cares about nothing but his truck. in trollhunters, senor uhl's ultimatum comes from his terror as a strict teacher.
but when we watch 3Below, senor uhl is one of our protagonists' key allies. it's always senor uhl and the teachers who are defending aja and krel against racists and ensuring that they always have a place in this school and they always defend that place the best that they can. senor uhl even leverages jim so that he can make aja and krel feel more comfortable in arcadia, not out of some personal vendetta against jim.
uhl, in the end, is one of the best examples of characters with disagreeable personalities but strong morals that ultimately draw you to them.

Practice for future storytelling
For those of you who want to lock all of your works with all the silly AI scraping of AO3 (which AO3 is recommending you lock your works, as stated in this post)
Here is a quick and easy guide of how to edit ALL of your works at once.
From your Dashboard click on “edit works” on the far right. This will bring up all of your works that you can select.
Select all the works you want to edit, then hit “Edit” at the bottom right.
Scroll to nearly the bottom of the page where you find “Visibility” and select “only show to registered users” and then update at the bottom.
That’s it, all of your works have now been locked without having to go in and edit each fic individually.
I hope this helps!

just realized... do trolls like to eat socks and underwear (especially really smelly/worn ones) because they SMELL like humans but aren't actually like... human flesh...
yeah so you know the video from this post? i went to check out the rest of the channel to see if they had more and uh yup basically I just got hardcore Troll Cooking 101 vibes from just about all of it lol
That one tag I wanna see on Ao3 is "Blinky Galadrigal & Walter Strickler | Stricklander" XD
Why be ashamed of an absentee father when you can be embarrassed by the two who won’t leave you alone

The Reckless Breakfast Club
I just thought of something that really makes me sad…now that Jim is a troll, will they forget what he was like as a human? I know he’s technically both, but let’s face it, there is very very little resemblance to human Jim in his half-and-half form. Even his personality has undergone some understandable changes, though at his heart he is the same.
It’s an established fact that over time, we as humans forget details, even about the ones we love, especially if they’re no longer around. And Merlin blatantly states that “There is no Jim.” Jim as a human? He’s gone for good. He is forever changed, and if he has the lifespan of a troll now…well…
It’s just really kinda heartbreaking to think that Blinky, Claire, Toby, etc. will start to forget human Jim. Like imagine if one day, for whatever reason, they’re in Arcadia and come across a picture of Jim when he was human. And Claire, or Blinky, or even Jim himself, is just like “Wow, I forgot that’s what I was like.”
They’ll forget what his smile was like. That he used to sound different (though I know that’s the Grave Sand’s doing, not Merlin’s). They’ll forget how skinny his legs were (ha ha). They’ll probably forget what his favorite foods were. There are so many tiny, yet significant things that will be lost to time.
And what really worries me? If enough time were to pass, assuming he can live for centuries, once his human loved ones are gone, what if the trolls forget he ever was human? Like, I’m sure they’ll know it as a fact, but what if they forget the reality of it? What if Jim’s abilities and accomplishments as a troll completely overshadows everything he did before he ever was one? What if they forget the enormity of what he lost, what he sacrificed, in order to save two worlds?
Idk if anyone else will find this as sad as I do, but human Jim to me was such a wonderful wonderful character. I loved him so much, and it still hurts that he was eradicated. As much as I love new troll Jim, I just don’t think I’ll ever fully be over what we lost.
There comes a day at the start of each summer when I must put my baseball cap on sideways and go out back to my air conditioner. I gingerly stroke the rusty metal coils over its freon heart and say, "Sup, home skillet? Wake up, it's 1995!"
And the air conditioner says, "Oh snap, for real? I thought it was much later. I feel so old."
In a goofy voice I say, "Yeah, it's like 2024 or something... not!"
It laughs nervously. It says, "As if!"
I tell it, "Take a chill pill, it's really 1995."
"Then I'm only 5 years old? Wack."
I nod. "Yeah, duderoni. Go ahead and start up for me one more time. It's gonna be a scorcher."
It shudders. Something rattles deep inside it. Slowly, the fan starts to spin. Faster, faster, it whirls. The air conditioner laughs in relief. "I feel young!" it says. "I feel so young!"
So, someone pointed this out to me recently and I just want to cry!! HERE ME OUT.............the ending to Rise of the Titans is actually better than you think cus there were some details I think were meant to be more obvious than they came across.
FIRST - We're all peeved that going back in time erased everyone's memories and therefore relationships and character development. However, when they go back Tobey is suddenly able to climb the rope in gym class and Claire seems to be paying attention more to Jim than last time. Especially when he is giving his speech at the audition, having a rewatch made me realize as soon as he starts speaking she has a look of recognition, almost like she thinks she's heard this speech somewhere before. Not only that but Barbara and Stickler got along incredibly quickly for 2 people who had only just met. These imply they have some sort of subconscious memory of the last timeline, WHICH considering Nari said time is NOT linear makes sense, cus if it was liner everything would be exactly the same as the first time without these subtle changes. Also, Nari said the ninth configuration is the key, the amulet would only work after they figured this out, if that's the case maybe Nari knew the amulet would to some degree protect them from complete amnesia, they just need to be 'woken up' so to speak. (Also since Merlin and Nari will be alive again they might actually be able to help with this too, especially Nari, she's the demi-god that gave them this advice for goodness sake!!!)
SECOND - The new amulet is 'For the good of all' which does tie directly into going back in time to save EVERYONE.
THIRD - Jim went back in time using the new Akiridion amulet, that means HE STILL HAS IT!!!! The message of the entire movie with Jim is that he now doesn't need the original amulet to be the Trollhunter, he always has been and always will be. Thats why the original amulet chose Toby instead of Jim the second time, it knows Jim doesn't need it anymore and can continue fighting as he is, he will ALWAYS be the Trollhunter with or without it. Jim also knows if he sticks to the original time things will end up the same and his friends that had died will still die, he's urging Toby to be the new Trollhunter to protect him in the coming fights.
There were a couple more points and details but honestly it's 3am and my ADHD brain has forgotten the rest and lost the TikTok I watched 😅
Overall tbh I'm still not happy with the ending, BUT having these pointed out has given me a different less hostile viewpoint on it. I certainly think it's plausible that this was intended but didn't come across very clearly to audiences (myself very much included). Either way, however you wanna interpret it I'm sticking with this as cannon cus if fills me with a lot more hope for the ending than how I originally felt and I don't know about you but I like feeling happy! 🤣
Wingman & Redbird

IDEA-
So I wrote about Bumblebee being born on earth so to speak in different scenarios... but what about Blitzwing?
I say that instead of Blitz, it was Strika and Lugnut who came to Earth. Team Prime had a whole lot of trouble dealing with them, they're big and cause a lot of damage- them messing shit up on the military grounds happened more than Team Prime would've liked. And so- once the Allspark shards start sprouting up from the ground then there's a real issue.
One time the shard appeared on the aforementioned military grounds- the mess was unimaginable, vehicles and aircrafts smashed left and right. Missiles and bombs exploded due to the small earthquake Lugnut caused. Team Prime barely got the tiny crystal before booking it out of there to put away to safety.... but that wasn't the end.
One tiny spec of the shard broke off during the impact and landed in the smaller pile of broken machines. It was hours after everyone had left the scene that something happened; the tiny spec of a crystal pulled what it could from the broken pile, aircraft and vehicle parts alike and some other stuff and put together one giant war machine.
Nobody was allowed on the military grounds until it was cleaned up... but Bee, being the rule breaker, snuck into the closed off zone in hopes to scavenge something cool... and cool he did find.
He was roaming around the broken buildings when he noticed something big moving between the piles, he called out but nothing happened, feeling of being watched settled in and confirmed as he saw more movement in the piles as he traveled further. At some point he got startled and bumped into some stuff... which led to the whole wall collapsing on him- or so he thought. The impact never came and he was looking up at this giant mech holding up the rubble before throwing it off to the side effortlessly. Bee only caught a glimpse of the Decepticon emblem and it made him run, but not far off as he was caught very quickly. He tried to break free but the mech didn't seem to wanna hurt him, it was only curious.
They managed to talk calmly after the big con made sure the tiny one was not hurt- his name was Blitzwing. He didn't know where he was nor anything about the Cybertron n such. Bee was fascinated by this new mech- two vehicles put together to make one powerful beast of a mech, it was so interesting- especially when the mech's face spun and another came into view, completely switching his behavior. (i would imagine that there were multiple computers and their pieces smashed and piled together so that would explain the multiple personalities, just different machinery computers put together into one processor)
And so Bee befriended Blitz very quickly. So from then on Bee would say he was gonna hang out with a new friend and sneak in to visit Blitz at the military grounds, he never told anything specific about his new friend, Team Prime assumed it was a human so they didn't bother checking.
I guess in between the meetings Blitz managed to cause quite a bit of trouble for the soldiers trying to tame the mess the bots made (they were not allowed back in the grounds for that one);
One time Blitz somehow managed to take a nap at the used part of the grounds and got himself into the soldier training with tanks. He woke up when the crew started riding around and he thought it was fun enough to blast off into the sky for a joy ride with them before going back down... surprisingly the suspicious tank disappeared before the mechanic could take a look at it. The other time he was trying to figure out his alt modes functions and accidentally blew up something in the ruins which caused an alarm.... that is when the bots are invited back in to deal with whatever happened.
Bee is suspiciously quiet and as the team searched for the reason of the explosion the same movement between the ruined piles caught their attention. Before they could take battle stances an oddly large tank rolled out from one of the makeshift trenches in front of them- it turned its double cannons towards them and they saw it- the same con insignia shining on the- glass? of the cabin.
"Wait... that's a-!" Ratchet couldn't get the sentence out before the machine started shifting and transformed into a giant mech. Bigger than any of them.
All of them except Bee whipped out their weapons- to which the mech just stood there silently curious but also startled by the sudden movement of the new friend group. It was Bee who stepped in between before any of them could strike.
"You know the new friend I've been tellin' you about?" Bee prompted.
"Yes- why is that important right now??" Optimus asked, too alarmed by the giant mech to think why this was important right now.
"Well, it's him, this is my new friend." Bee said, gesturing to the giant mech who said in a happy tone "Hallo!" and gave then a small but excited wave.
So Bee is being questioned about why the frag is he friends with a con and where this mech even came from- they're all angry at him for putting himself in such danger but at least the mech doesn't wanna hurt them... that much.
See, Team Prime being angry at Bee angers Blitzwing, and Bee is the only one who can talk Blitz into not hurting anyone so really, they're all on Bee's mercy here.
They're a little weirded out about the mech's behavior switches- they are very much surprised when they refer to him as a tank and Bee snickers and tells Blitz to "go show them" and they see what they thought was a tank mech turn into a jet and him laughing with Bee at their expressions.
Ratchet knew about the Triple Changers existing and that they were extremely rare and difficult to make- never has he seen one pop out naturally. He never heard of them having fractured processors either but this one seemed to have that issue.
Nonetheless, Team Prime decides to leave Blitzwing there and just keep everyone out of the area he resides in. Bee of course insists on visiting him so he gets permission (forced out Op by Blitz's death glares)
I dunno where to take it from here but yeah, there you go.
people are absolutely EVIL about the boundaries of “picky eaters”. no, they do not have to try it. yes, they can know they don’t like it without having eaten it before. no, they probably have not suddenly grown a taste for the food they’ve said they hate. no, they probably are not going to like it in the Special Way This One Place Cooks It. yes, you are being a bad friend if you try to “trick” them into eating it anyway
