The Story My Grandfather Told About Why He Got Sent Home From Vietnam Might Be The Worst Fucking Thing

The story my grandfather told about why he got sent home from Vietnam might be the worst fucking thing I’ve ever heard.

The Story My Grandfather Told About Why He Got Sent Home From Vietnam Might Be The Worst Fucking Thing

I’m sharing the story because I was forced to sit through it during New Year’s Eve dinner and I’m so freaked out and god damn itchy that I need to get it out of my system. I’m sure some of you are going to breeze on by this little tantrum here and go right to the meat of the story because you’re thinking, “hey, I’ve got a strong stomach.” Well, go for it.

Boring stuff out of the way: he was drafted, and since he was short and skinny, he was a perfect tunnel rat. Those were the guys who wriggled their way through the ridiculously narrow tunnels the Viet Cong used to transport personnel and weapons, set boobytraps, and all that. And when I say narrow, I mean narrow. Here’s a pic.

So, gramps was wriggling around in a tunnel one day and a few bad things happened. First, the two other people with him got killed by a solitary VC while they were standing around the hole. Being a few feet underground and about twenty feet through meant grandpa couldn’t see who attacked them or know if anyone survived. He later learned he was the only one left alive, but he assumed the VC attacker would soon start throwing grenades into the tunnel and he’d be done for. After a few minutes with no sign of any incoming attack, grandpa breathed a sigh of relief and starting moving forward again. A little while later, though, it starting pouring rain. The tunnel began to fill with water.

Cum on some licorice, call that a jizzler

i thinkit would be cool if there was an omegaverse but for salmon instead of wolves. Like when the time comes certain members of society get really juicy musclewise and get yiffy fangs and are suddenly compelled to return to the neighborhood they grew up in and 96 hours later show up barefoot in full starvation mode and ravaged by walking through interstate traffic to fuck whoevwr smells the best in the local burger king. Then afterwards they die and disintegrate to be eaten by seagulls in the parking lot

I just love how I can barely even consume misophonia content (articles or just posts on here) without constantly worrying about seeing specific triggers mentioned and consequently developing said triggers. So fun 🤩 love how quirky my brain is!

Or when media created by non-sufferers will have the audacity to play a clip of [trigger] and then be like “did that bother you?? 🤨 congrats, suffer.”

witchcraft and the law

as we approach the anniversary of “the bone incident” i thought this was important. not an expert in law, but throughout my practice this is a list i have gathered of things that may conflict with things you may want to do in your craft

image

there are just some things that are straight up against the law. this isn’t aimed at your religious freedoms, this is about following the laws of the land you live in. while your religion/spiritual beliefs may allow and encourage it, that may not be coincide with what is legal in your area.

bird feathers - some species of birds and animals are endangered and collecting their feathers or remains is against the law. this varies from state to state, so you should check the laws of your area before collecting things you find in the wild. (x)

plants/animal parts in the mail - there are a number of restrictions on what can and cannot be safely mailed in a sanitary method, and they need to be followed. (x)

teaching witchcraft to minors - in many places, it is the parents who get first and only say in what religion is taught to their child, until they reach the age of majority. legal action can often be brought against those who teach a minor witchcraft without the parent’s consent. (x)

digging up bones - just no. collecting bones that somehow come out of the graves is off the table too. the selling and buying and overall collection of human bones is often illegal, if not entirely. (x)

littering - spells that tell you to bury a glass jar somewhere, or to throw it in the ocean are not only harmful to the environment, they’re illegal, and subject to fines and prison time. you need to find a decompose-able method or a different spell (x)

tampering with someone’s food or drink - no matter what your intentions are, giving someone a love potion or something for their benefit, this is illegal in every state. not to mention, you don’t know if they’re allergic to what you put in. (x)

improper disposal of spell remains - be very careful on how you dispose of a spell, and make sure you aren’t introducing mercury or other toxic chemicals into the ecosystem. it’s bad for your surroundings, and it’s illegal (x)

animal abuse - it does not matter how sacred animal sacrifice and abuse it to your craft, if it breaks the laws, you should rethink it. (x)

trespassing - no matter how much you may want to pick some herbs that grow on someone else’s property, doing so without permission is trespassing and stealing. not to mention dangerous, as there are states with laws that allow the owner to bare arms against trespassers. (x)

fire safety - so you go out into the woods to set up a ritual, cool. but not paying attention to the fire alert that day, and how likely a stray spark from your ritual candles could start a forest fire and endanger countless people. it does not matter what stars are in position, is smokey the bear says no, do it a different day. (x)

this is not about dictating your beliefs or repressing your religious freedom. this is about public safety and respecting other people’s rights. practicing magic does not put you above the law, and it does not make your whims more important than the safety and rights of other people. if you do any of these, you’re not expressing your beliefs, you’re putting those around you in danger.

this is based on my experience in america and in reference to american law. if you have any more to add or other countries’ law restrictions, feel free to add.

I'd very much like to punch a feminist.

I’d never, ever hurt a lady but I’d be happy to punch a feminist. It’d bring me great joy.

Honey - Magic and Medicinal Uses

image

Honey is quite an amazing little substance, i often find myself using it my work ( seriously i have a 5 pound jar of it below my altar thats how much i use it). Honey is the general term used for the sweet nectar that bees gather and bring back to their colony for sustenance. (properly obtained honey doesn’t harm the bees at all) Collected around The late summer and early fall, honey is a common and staple crop in many parts of the world.

Magikal Uses- Honey has a handful of Magikal proprieties, uses  and distinct energies. the energies vary depending on which strain of honey you are working with. but overall i would describe them as positive, cleansing, gentle, soothing and warming. its great for spells, offerings and brews

honey makes an acceptable offering for deities,

it can be kept on your altar i keep some on my altar to remind me that amongst the seemingly overwhelming bitterness of everyday life that sweetness can be found.

can be used in things involving Love, lust or sexuality

Purification (works great in bath scrubs)

health and healing

community or communication

abundance and prosperity

used as a bonding agent in spells,(i find this nice because if you ever need to undo the spell, honey doesn’t permanently solidifies so whats bonded together can be unbound)

spirituality

candle magic (for anointing  or beeswax candles)

honey can be used to represent wisdom, because gathering honey from hives can be difficult and painful if done incorrectly so it became a metaphor for obtaining knowledge through pain

Honey has a long medicinal history - it will help with allergies  if you eat a teaspoon of locally sourced honey each day. (buying local honey is great way to support your community and local agriculture) it is a natural immunity booster and has antibacterial properties, which is why it is good for soar throats.  if you Shop around for honey you will see a wide range of hues, some are lighter, others are darker. overall, the darker the honey, the better its antibacterial and antioxidant power

there is a MAJOR difference between natural raw unpasteurized honey, and most store bought honey.  Most commercial honey has no traces of pollen and lacks beneficial vitamins and enzymes among a host of other natural constituents which are removed due to pasteurization and processing. Most golden honey you see at your local grocery is dead and far from the health promoting powerhouse of its raw unpasteurized counterpart. Processed honey is not honey at all, and if you desire any kind of health benefits, you must stick to the real stuff. @crhserenity my formula that I use for digits is 1. State your intention 2. Put the sentence backwards 3. Get rid of all of the vowels 4. Get rid of all repeating letters 5. Take the letters you have left and connect them all into one solid picture 6. Add little dots and lines and swirls where you want them

I hope this helps a little, and I will try to mix some social stuff in for you!!
