Trying to revitalise my never-really-active writing account by looking through my old material and wow.
Starting to think being a writer is just a cycle of writing something, thinking it's incredible, then coming back and wondering who thought it would be a good idea to let you have access to the English language.
Agnes Montague is sitting in the coffee shop again. Same table, same black coffee, same routine. She wraps her hand around the mug, feeling the heat bloom under her palm. It’s better than burning people, than having them as a sacrifice to prove her warmth. She’s grown out of those fits of anger, and now she sees herself as more of her destiny than the flame borne from it. That’s what it is to be the light in the lightless flame. She wants to be kind but she can’t. She’s a creation with a purpose, and that purpose isn’t kindness.
Everyone else in this shop is human. Completely human. They were born in hospitals, probably, and not within someone else’s – her mother’s – sacrificial funeral pyre. Everyone else in this shop has friends. Everyone else in this shop can find their own purpose. And Agnes just heats her drink, the steam barely bringing up the temperature of her burning skin. She’s the sunlight, just bringing heat down on everyone with her touch. She can burn, but she is essential. She’s not sure who told her that. Something that has to be wrong within her tells her that it was her mother.

just a sad double drabble of me thinking about agnes too hard!! she thinks about her mom regularly imo,, i consider her thinking about her mom's (voluntary) sacrifice as justification that she has to follow her destiny :((((
Going through a weird period where i'm constantly thinking about my characters, which theoretically is good. now i can go write my story! but unfortunately my characters did not get the memo so now i'm just gently steering them away from arson and back towards the plot while wondering why i cant go back to being obsessed with something normal. like british horror podcasts.
I finished the raven cycle and I have SO MANY THOUGHTS
this series has the best portrayal of platonic love I've ever seen, the relationships between all the characters felt so natural and incredibly well written. none of the transitions to romantic relationships felt forced because it seemed so obvious "of course they love eachother, EVERYONE loves EVERYONE"
So obviously my love for all of these characters is unmatched but I would commit unspeakable crimes for blue sargent
Piper as an antagonist???? amazing beautiful perfect. her being manipulated by the demon was so cool to see, her transition from being green mantles wife with a semi normal life to "yo dad wassup just murdered my husband and found a new pet *holds up demon* isn't it cute?"
Noah my poor baby boi
stavinsky may have been a horrible person but he was a super interesting character
Chainsaw is the bestest bird to ever bird
gansey and blues relationship and adam and ronans relationship were both amazing and sweet and perfect
obsessed with opal as a short story, Adam and Ronan get to have these super sweet and sad moments in the background meanwhile opal's telling the real important story: her dangerous quest to drink windshield wiper fluid and honestly I'm here for it
i will give a small bit of criticism: the pacing did feel a little bit rushed in some places and there was some jumping around that didn't make a ton of sense
BUT IM IGNORING THAT BECAUSE SEARCHING FOR A LONG DEAD WELSH KING IS SUCH AN AWESOME STORY CONCEPT
Henry Cheng: amazing 10/10 no criticism I just love him
there were some points where I was ready to crawl through the pages and fight adam's father myself
and finally a fandom note: just learned that the main ship names are bluesey and pynch and that is so amazing I love that so much
It's simple, interns/assistants dying in TMA is horrifying and grief inducing, leaving an absence in the show that can be felt till the very last moment of the series finale because it didn't have to be like this, but of course it did. They were hired to die. Tim and Sasha and Michael were always going to die because it was their only purpose.
Interns/assistants dying in WTNV is one of their funniest long term bits.
These are both critiques of capitalist exploitation of the working class
i think everyone should see my avatar of the vast oc i made a couple years ago cos i like her very much :)
why am I scrolling . What am I hoping to find
as a chronic oversharer i'm always ready to answer asks, but i'm particularly bored today so if anyone has any questions for me i'd be happy to answer random queries
