Mr. Schmidt: I recall a time when my garage was broken into, Mr. Speaker. They stole my truck, and more importantly, more expensively, they stole the accordion that I was storing in that truck. Determining the value of a truck is rather straightforward. There’s a well-established process for assessing what the value is. Now, I could tell you that the value of that truck that was stolen was probably about $60 because it had a full tank of gas, but determining the value of that accordion was not a simple matter, because there isn’t a well-established process for determining the replacement value of an accordion. The insurance company wanted me to get a certified accordion assessor to evaluate the value of this accordion. Let me tell you that no such thing exists, at least not in Canada. I couldn’t find one. I had to go back and forth for months with this insurance company to determine a fair value of the accordion. It took way too long to settle that process, and we didn’t come to a resolution that was agreeable to me. I’m sure it was agreeable to the insurance company because they sure didn’t have to pay out the amount of money that I felt that I was entitled to.

hi!! i tried to think of books similar to trc but tbh i can’t come up with anything that’s exactly like it buuut i managed to think of some faves with a similar vibe, either mystery like or a little magical (does this even make sense..) (in the end they probably have nothing in common with trc and it’s just me that somehow sees them with a similar vibe)

the night circus 10/10 on the magic side + such a great story & characters!! (and the cover alone already makes it worth it)on the jellicoe road 10/10 on the tears, a wonderful book, great squads, feels magical even if there’s no actual magica darker shade of magic (first book of the shades of magic trilogy) a+++ magic & a wonderful world buildingi’ll give you the sun super magical writing + art is magic so you got that… great tears but also so sweetwe were liars a book that totally destroys u and you won’t stop thinking about it, it’s a tragic mysteryaristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe the magic is in how good and poetic this book isthe secret series which i haven’t read in years but i miss it so much it was mystery af and fun and i just remember loving it as a kid and the characters had a cool squad thing going on toodaughter of smoke and bone i have only just bought this one so i haven’t actually read it but i’ve heard many good things about it & i feel like it would belong in this category

I'm pretty sure the "man wearing a kippah is about to enter a temple, but covers his wheelchair wheels with a cover to keep the inside of the temple as clean as possible." Is probably man actually entering a mosque, and it's quite common for men to wear a headcap of some kind for prayer. The architecture also implies it's a mosque (though you may have a synagogue in that style, especially if you are looking in the MENA region), the collective connotation I see is of a Muslim individual.

There is also not to my knowledge a concept you can't specifically bring dirt with you into a synagogue (i.e., walking with shoes/wheeling in a chair), though I suppose you shouldn't come caked in mud. However, you might see this concept of not tracking dirt specifically in a mosque both for practical reasons (carpeting) or generally as a sign of respect.

Clothes

Hi Ennun! Do you have any tips for drawing folds and wrinkles in clothing? I always have trouble with placing them in the right places.

I can show you a few drawings with different clothing so maybe it’ll help you understand.

When you draw clothes, you should keep in mind what kind of fabric they are made of:

lower body:

For pants and such, the folds usually occur around the crouch, the knees and the ankles. For skirts, it really depends on the kind and the length. Skirts made from a full circle have folds at he base, those made with a longer piece of fabrics have folds at the waist (or top) and depending on whether it’s fluffy or not, there’s folds at the base as well, or not.

full body:

When you draw dresses, think of how they hug around the body. For example, baby doll dresses have an upper part that closes in with the lower part under the breasts. Then, depending on the material, you need to draw more or less folds. Also keep in mind that these folds need to go around the boobs, so don’t just make straight lines, give the body volume. 

Same goes for really flowy materials (like drawing 4) When you drape it over the breasts, make sure you show it.

upper body:

For upper body, shirts and such usually fold at the armpits, the elbows, the waist and the wrists. If clothes are hugging the body, then there are folds around the chest and abs area too, and just as with the breasts, make sure they’re not straight lines, because they’re defining the body.

You can draw straight lines if it’s a large shirt, because then the material is so big that it doesn’t really touch the rest of the body, and if it does, it’s just the waist.
