I haven’t seen any posts about Moria here because this website is so US-centric.
This is Moria, Europe’s biggest refugee camp in Greece. And recently 99% of it was destroyed in a fire.
The camp is located on the island of Lesbos for one simple reason: Turkey won’t take the refugees back if they are brought to the mainland. The camp was designed for 3,000 people but in March 2020 there were 20,000 people living there. There have been several fires already which caused fatalities. Not the best place to live in during a worldwide pandemic.
Some people were evacuated from Moria already. But there are still 13,000 people living there. There have been 35 confirmed COVID-19 cases so far. And now, thousands of people are going to be homeless because of the fire.
And it’s not like the conditions there were great to begin with. This is how it looked like before the fire:
There’s violence, sexual assaults and not enough water. And all of this is happening in the EU.
If you want to help, you can make a donation to Doctors Without Borders. Feel free to add other aid agencies if you know any.
Here are some graphics I made for @simmer-emsie's Not So Berry 2 Challenge as requested by @clumsyorca. I used icons from @luniversims.
Enjoy!

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:
IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.
1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.
2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.
3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”
4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”
5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.
TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.
Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.
who knew the sim community was so toxic 💀? I just be looking and reading situations and be like “wowww 😗.”

In many cultures, ethnic groups, and nations around the world, hair is considered a source of power and prestige. African people brought these traditions and beliefs to the Americas and passed them down through the generations.
In my mother’s family (Black Americans from rural South Carolina) the women don’t cut their hair off unless absolutely necessary (i.e damage or routine trimming). Long hair is considered a symbol of beauty and power; my mother often told me that our hair holds our strength and power. Though my mother’s family has been American born for several generations, it is fascinating to see the beliefs and traditions of our African ancestors passed down. We are emotionally and spiritually attached to our hair, cutting it only with the knowledge that we are starting completely clean and removing stagnant energy.
Couple this with the forced removal and covering of our hair from the times of slavery and onward, and you can see why so many Black women and men alike take such pride and care in their natural hair and love to adorn our heads with wigs, weaves, braids, twists, accessories, and sharp designs.
Hair is not just hair in African diaspora cultures, and this is why the appropriation and stigma surrounding our hair is so harmful.

Hi I'm legitimately so fucking sick and tired seeing next to NOTHING on my dashboard about this. Include Palestine in your fucking activism goddammit.
Now excuse me if I sound a tad bit heated, but as an Arab/North African who grew up with many Palestinian friends that I consider family at this point, I hope you understand me when I say: Everyone who sees this, whoever you may be, mutual or not, and doesn't reblog or at least look at the links provided for whatever the fuck reason, if I was able to tell who you are, just know I fucking hate you.
