I originally called this 'a gently Sefikura epilogue' and then went and sketched out 10 chapters and now it's looking like an *aggressively* Sefikura epilogue haha. (Note the ratings bump.) We start with a speculative stab at the Remake/Rebirth universe final battle and go on from there with some ✨Cetra magic✨ and eventual warm fuzzies.

So this is neat. The new chapter makes it interestingly clear that Sephiroth, for all his rank and reputation within Shinra, doesn't actually have any real authority within the system.

For years we'd been giving Sephiroth the fanon rank of "General", but the truth is that his hands are pretty tied with the inner workings of SOLDIER. The company that raised him, abused him, dehumanized him, and exploited him for profit didn't even have the courtesy to give him a position of actual legitimate authority.

Sephiroth is basically just their trained dog. Their Stamp. He acts as their mascot. He does tricks for them on command. He has the "privilege" of being famous and respected. But he's still very much on their leash. And that's all he can ever have.
