Contemporary Jewelry Handmade in Northern California from the Highest Quality Natural MaterialsI like using strong beading wire, mixed metals, leather, I love turquoise, shells, various gemstones, crystals, bone, ceramic, acrylic beads and good strong crimp beads are a must. There are so many product options out there.I decided to limit my products to mostly North American regions and Mexico. I remember when I first started I purchased some Chinese turquoise and wasn’t too pleased. Then I learned a few of my vendors were selling me Chinese stuff too. There are some quality gemstones mined in China. However knowing the distance traveled made me reconsider and stay within our continent. It’s a big one anyway. Jewelry making helps me relax, I find it therapeutic. My back and fingers get sore but it’s all worth it when I see someone wearing something I’ve made. Darn right Joyous!

My ILD and Double Lung Transplant journey. I was listed 10/2023. Was inactivated twice due to infection. After 1st reactivation, spring 2024 I received the call. However there was a complication with donor lungs. That was my first dry run.
Then another infection hit, and complications from GI issue caused by meds. It took 2 months to be reactivated. It was February 27th 2025 when I received the second call. I was sure it was another dry run, till I was lead into surgery. Surgery team asked if I wanted music, I picked anything Metallica. LOL
My kids and dear buddy who were my caregivers. I have so much gratitude. I posted on my socials and buddies offered prayers and kind words of hope for my journey. I requested they also pray for the donor family. What an amazing gift to someone unknown to them. 🫁🙏🏽☝🏼🫶🏼
Everyone is different and we all experience health journeys differently. For me, yeah it hurt! But I’m happy to admit, as bad as my pain was, I’m off pain meds, even Tylenol! Got enough meds to deal with for the rest of my life. And will mask up for my protection since immune suppression is high. Hey, it’s still the only choice I had. And I’m very happy my kids talked me into the transplant. Also my pulmonologist stopped asking and just sent me to UCSF to begin testing for transplant when my lungs continued to decline. Good on him. 👍🏼
If you haven’t thought about organ donation, please consider it. I intend to leave my bits n pieces for whatever other’s needs be.
I was finally released to home after 6weeks post transplant and in the aftercare program. All the time spent at UCSF preparing for this new venture. Also testing at my local Kaiser. Yes there are many more appointments to keep even now that I’m home. And I sure intend to keep doing what I must to keep this gift alive.
It's my 12 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳 Time does have wings. 🪽
Necklace and earrings were a gift to a sweet buddy. For privacy I cropped not to show face or name.
This year’s SF Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Walk 2024 friends and family walked with me. Such a great day to raise funds for research and education. 👍🏼 I hoped to beat last year’s 1 mile. Well I got a smidge further. 🤭
Our little Luna got out and headed to the road. It was dark, but not too late, dang time change. I wasn’t able to switch from oxygen plug in machine to an etank in time. Damn car didn’t even stop. I saw it go by as I headed out the door, then heard her yelp, she never made another sound. I found her in middle of road. She was silent but breathing. I picked her up, we both were filled with tears. I repeatedly apologized and kissed her as we returned home. I Called a neighbor who borrowed a car to drive us to an emergency vet. She was actually my son’s doggie but he was out of town. She enjoyed being upstairs with me and her fur friends. Poor Luna tho not crushed open, she had terrible internal injuries. I asked dr to please put her out of her pain. I held her paw and stroked her face as the drug sent her on to the ancestors. Our grief is not as intense as it was. I still cry. My son still misses her so much. I never hated my limitations of this lung disease as much as I did that night. Hit by car 6:24p— put down 7:35p Adopted 2/7/14 died 3/4/24 She laid in her favorite bed off kitchen so my son and her fur siblings could bid farewell. What a shock for him. I didn’t want to text him the upsetting news. He had a long drive back. Her was funeral 3/5/24 My daughter bought flowers and son’s girlfriend, and her siblings were there. Wow dang, I’m crying again!

It was an awesome experience to participate in the 2023 Bay Area Pulmonary Fibrosis Walk. I had plenty of physical and emotional support from the John Muir Pulmonary Rehab of East Bay team, and from my daughter who walked by my side. We walked a mile, stronger folk did 5 miles. Yep it was a great day.
So I made this jewelry holder from a lovely drift wood I found on my last hiking trip. It’s wrapped with 100% copper wire. Gifted this jewelry holder to a sweet young buddy who needed a something for her stuff. She also picked out a few pieces (not from the photo) to take with her back to Portland.
The necklaces in photo are from my last collection.
It was my last session of pulmanary rehab on 4/4/23 and encouraged to sign up for Maintance sessions. Guess I will. I took earrings to gift away to the ladies. Made me feel happy they got to choose their own preference. Sharing is caring❣️
Very excited to watch this film. Please check out the trailer, and add it to your playlist. 👍🏼

Interstitial Lung disease (ILD) diagnosed 2018. Dr said 3-5 yrs. Everybody is different so our journeys will vary. Most don’t live too long as our lungs give out. Tho I’ve heard of folk who’ve survived up to 20 yrs. Anyway I’ve decided to live as is and see what gives. I make sure to laugh plenty and enjoy the company of my fur buds.
My meds have messed with my vision so I haven’t made any new Jewelry pieces. Who knows I might get inspired since fall will be here before we know it. 🧡

hey if y’all can please donate to the carolina abortion fund. nc is one of few states in the southeast to not currently be planning bans on abortions. we’re gonna be absolutely swamped from people in the southeast seeking safe abortions but there’s only so many people with so much funding that can help. ill reblog with the link.
A gift for a special friend. She loves blue so this turquoise set is appreciated. She loved the moon face pendant and touch of pearls too.
More fun stuff I worked on while our air quality was terrible. Feel sorry for the folk in direct contact with our wild fires. Wow and special thanks to the firefighters who risk their lives and lungs to help fight the fires.
Managing my mood with beads. 😉 It sure did help. Now to better manage my meds. 😏
