After all the evenings I spent as a kid at the library or on the internet trying to find stories with a character that would be like me, I can’t find any good enough reason to work on non-trans characters.
By the way, many people don’t know this, but you can ask your librarian to order books by trans authors! Metonymy Press, Arsenal Pulp, Topside Press, Flamingo Rampant… you should definitely talk to them about it, everytime someone I know did it, they were successful in getting trans author’s books in their local library. They can also get mine on http://assignedmale.etsy.com !

baby ginny sitting herself down in professor lupin’s office hours with her eyebrows furrowed and lupin’s like “shit” bc ginny is an excellent student and very observant and contrary and less likely to take shit than even hermione granger and is rather reminiscent of other red-haired gryffindor women he has known
“i know you’re a werewolf,” she blurts
“oh?” he says though he is thinking shit shit shit shit shit
“yes, and I don’t care,” she says forcefully
“oh?” he says again, though he is carefully not feeling anything
“yeah, I know what it’s like to be possessed by something evil. it doesn’t make you evil,” she says
Usually by inquiring why, as this does, based on the definition of feminism, seem a little bit strange.
You mean by saying that sex should be consensual? Because that’s basically all that feminists are saying.
ego: cur terram perdes?
alienigena: quod sunt homines qui putant istos solam linguam brittannici dicere debent.
ego: iustum est. intellego.

reproductive rights issues:
abortion
birth control
also reproductive rights issues:
doctors performing c sections during births without informed consent
eugenics via sterilization requirements for trans people to change documentation
eugenics via forced/nonconsenting sterilization of disabled people
eugenics via forced/nonconsenting sterilization of people of color
eugenics via selective abortion of disabled fetuses (fetuses with Down syndrome especially) (these are abortions sought by people who WANT to be pregnant–but only with non-disabled children, when there’s absolutely no guarantee that a non-disabled child won’t become disabled)
if your reproductive rights activism doesn’t incorporate ALL OF THE ABOVE, i want no part of it.
Yes, of course. Not letting boys wear skirts is still a form of sexism.
How much support we got out there?
I like this idea, but what happens when you get down to the last two straight guys?
Other examples:
-The Aeneid is fanfic of the Iliad and the Odyssey
-Romeo and Juliet is fanfic of Ovid
So, when I was doing my thesis on whether or not fanfiction should be considered a legitimate genre of literature, my advising professor asked me for examples. I gave him the generic ones, of course - “Pride & Prejudice and Zombies” is a horror fanfic of “Pride & Prejudice”, “50 Shades of Grey” is an erotica fic of “Twilight" - and that seemed to make him understand what fanfiction is, but not how it’s useful. So I thought about it, and, after about a minute, I said, “Paradise Lost is basically a fanfiction of the Book of Genesis. And The Divine Comedy is an epic self-insertion fic for Catholic doctrine. So, basically, you were teaching us fanfiction last semester.” I had never before seen a grown man’s eyes widen with such fear, incomprehension, disgust, awe, and understanding.
