In a way, Fyodor represents everything Nikolai doesn’t like and yet wishes he could be. Fyodor not only embodies much of his ideals-a man who doesn’t have any attachment to emotion (on the outside at least), but he also has full control of the world around him; that being the thing Nikolai craves to be free. I believe part of the reason Fyodor understood Nikolai so thoroughly was because they share in that need to be in control: for Nikolai it’s of himself, and for Fyodor it’s of his plan, (or the world, it’s purposefully unclear).
Fyodor is not only a serial terrorist (which Nikolai feels awful about being) but he is also The Most controlling character in the series, what Nikolai hates. By killing Fyodor he’s not just getting rid of his feelings for him but he’s also Becoming Fyodor, in the way that then he will finally master his guilt by murdering someone special to him.
Nikolai is very gay by thinking that the biggest emotional attachment he has that he can get rid of to Beat The System is a man who he hasn’t seen since he went to prison forever ago
telesto teles redraw with shin for all the kairiki bear stans out there
you all seemed to really like the other set, so here's more!
I like a headcannon/theory that I'm gonna share. It's simple with not much to it but here we go.
I personally believe that before the Meta Liberation Army commanders, became commanders, that they had different personalities completely, or were much more shy/nervous/not really knowing where they fit in the world, but the MLA or Redestro gave them confidence and they adapated new personalities.
My main example of this is Chitose "Curious" Kizuki
This is younger Kizuki, from what I see she seems alot more nervous and shy (I blame this on the facial features and the blush) then the older and outgoing Curious we saw in the manga/anime-
I presume younger Curious was before she was officially a commander or hell even completely in the MLA. But the older Curious we see is a commander of the MLA.
Also we know from how Rikiya talked to her, that she originally wasn't good at capturing emotion. But she later tells Toga she "threw away all restraint long ago". This made me think that Curious changed because of Rikiya, and developed a bit of a worse personality. To me her discussion and how far she went with Toga made me think she'll do anything to get what she wants/needs, and this doesn't make me think of younger Curious at all.
Another idea I had for this that I don't have much evidence for is Tomoyasu "Skeptic" Chikazoku. We know that Tomoyasu has an intense fear of failure, and has only failed once it his life according to him (as far as I know thanks to a post, his failure was a failed IT security system for Feel Good Inc.)
I believe that before joining the MLA and/or becoming a commander, Skeptic didn't really have confidence with himself at all. I've seen some people say his upbringing must have been not to well for him to see everything as a possible failure/react so badly to failure. He's even gone close to crazy to prove he didn't fail:
This makes me feel that perhaps Rikiya saw Tomoyasu's success and wanted him in the MLA. And I believe Skeptic took it quickly as a chance to not fail again, since Rikiya praised his success and didn't criticize his failure. Hence his personality coming through as the person he is now, determined not to fail again whereas old Tomoyasu may have just accepted he was failure. This may also be part of while his personality changed, a part of his old self (his fear of failure) stayed with him.
In conclusion: This isn't a really deep headcannon/theory, but I do believe Rikiya made the members of the MLA into brand new people then what they may have been before.
Season 4 when?
The reason why this question comes up is because Fukuchi is built up very heavily, as an incredible fighter and as a big boy villain. In comparison, Aya is a self described incredibly average girl with no special traits. So the question goes, how did Aya outsmart Fukuchi?
1. Fukuchi isn’t actually built up to be smart. Fukuchi is strong as hell, he is the perfect soldier, he can take down armies, he is Fukuzawa’s equal or greater. But he has never won because he was particularly clever. He wins because he has the overpowered weapons, the element of surprise, and a very good ability (+hunting dogs surgeries). This is not to undermine his overwhelming combat prowess but he is just a little stupid! Do not be fooled by his confusing time shenanigans! This man is more himbo than you think.
You can skip to the next reason but I don’t want to sound like I’m making unbased claims so here is why I think he’s (as stated) a little stoop:
In his first ‘battle’ we see he almost frees his own prisoner, his second battle he wins because of time shenanigans (where at the end he is outsmarted, if by chance), he mistakes a tracking device for a flash drive, he didn’t foresee being found out by Ranpo despite knowing the ADA, he is bested by his own subordinate in battle and again only wins because of time shenanigans, this is a small one but he literally monologues his plan! Bitch what if that tracking device was also a recorder!! Old man doesn’t understand technology. His own subordinate who he expected to betray him gets a hit on his neck, and even after beating said subordinate he didn’t even know then that there was anyone else was in the room, and etc.
2. The encounter of outsmarting was very short, probably under a minute in between Fukuchi finding out someone was in the room, and Fukuchi being called away. I have no doubt that if there were any more time Aya would be dead, but great luck was on her side, very simply.
3. If during his whole fight with Jouno he didn’t realize Aya was there, then him not realizing Aya was in the coffin isn’t that unlikely. Especially since the sound of breathing and rustling would just sound like Bram. Even with the heightened hunting dog senses he isn’t Jouno, he can’t parse different heartbeats.
4. This ties into the first, but he is used to high combat situations. He is not used to these types of encounters (he has subordinates for the grunt work of killing witnesses) so non-head on fights would catch him by surprise. Aya’s moves are so simple that that is what claims her victory in the end.
All of these are theoretical but I find Fukuchi’s constant running into small evil plan inconveniences situation to be hilarious, which is beautiful because it’s even more surprising then that he’s actually the closest to taking over the world and doing the most damage any character ever has. Fukuchi as a villain is Fyodors opposite, where Fyodor has the all encompassing vibe of having everything planned out, Fukuchi has small issues constantly stopping him. While Fyodor commands total respect from his subordinates, 3/4 of Fukuchi’s have gone against his plan in some way (two directly betraying him). Where Fyodor killed nobody noteworthy, Fukuchi has killed 3 well established strong characters. Fukuchi being bested by a 10 year old is the biggest highlight of their differences: where Fyodor’s plans are a graceful sword slash, Fukuchi’s plans are a bashing mallet.
I just finished watching the series and I couldn't resist! Also, possibly do another Goro AU with this series but different position (? 👀
In which Minato says “these hands are rated E for everyone” and Yosuke is jealous of kannao

While working on this I noticed that he steps to the beat of a lot of music.. but this has to be my favorite beat to sync his brooding to.
It GIVES kamukura.. if you wanted to stick around a sec and vibe to his looming.
Also, I would like to shoutout @skrelborns whose art inspired this! The specific piece I will link here since I actually ended up taking a lot of colors from it (;^_^) Your amazing DR2 art fuels this hyperfixation like no other and always puts me in a creative mood. Seriously youre the best.
